That this limited edition car is holding it’s value while others are softening
demonstrates what a little bit of extra exclusivity, charm and character achieves.

I hope you liked my video, thanks for watching and please feel free to subscribe👉 ruclips.net/user/RogerBaileyOnCars
I just bought one, same colour, 30k kilometers. My third 911 and the most stylish, by a mile, Living in Switzerland, the roads are excellent and the mountains are my playground. It doesn't get any better.
Stafan congratulations and enjoy those amazing roads
This is my absolute favourite Model from my favourite brand! Luckily i am currently the proud owner of the Graphite Grey one - however its 1:18 scale ;)
will consider myself very lucky if I own any Porsche sometime, definitely a big goal for me - This car though will most likely remain a Dream 😁
TheHennes36 here's hoping you one day can own one - Roger
Nothing to add from me Roger expect to say I would love to own it too ! Absolutely beautiful in every way.
Thanks for sharing.
cheers Geof 👍
One car for the rest of your life? 100% agree. It’s got all the poke you need and like a buddhist meditation garden inside. Great video that really captures how special these are ❤
cool dude roger :-)) these 50th anniverasies seem bullet proof financially and look superb, another great video
cheers Shaun 😎
they went up to over 100k then settled a bit
i dont think I've ever sen one of these, it looks just right imo the black wheel cars of today just arnt elegant like this one, great video
I kinda agree Alan
I totally agree with you regarding the black wheel cars. With rare exceptions, I just don't like the look.
Love everything about this car.I would have this in a heartbeat if I had the money.Cheers from Tasmania(Australia).
I would visit Tasmania in a heartbeat too if I could ! cheers !
I absolutely adore the 50th anniversary edition 911 and it's been my dream Porsche since 2014. But as you mention here, the values really haven't come down much and they are hard to find. I finally pulled the trigger on a 2017 991.2 Carrera S and going to pick it up next weekend in Texas! I finally own my dream car 😎❤
991.2 S is a great car Steve
Porsche is the only manufacturer to date that measures the amount of cars they sell to keep residual prices high, its in owners best interest they do this. Nice video btw
good point, cheers
you are such a cool guy Roger Bailey, no really, you create the best videos about cars, and get better with each new production, keep going.
comments like yours keep me going
The USA versions also had the “Power Kit” fitted to it, for an additional 30 hp, sweet. I know, because I have a graphite grey one. Just love it...prestine, loaded with options, 5,000 miles...like new. At cars & coffee events more people come up to me than when I took my white 991 GT3, another great car.
Great show... Thanks, Jim --
thanks Jim, great car you have there
Ooh Roger suits you sir..beautiful car beautiful vid.
I got the 2014 911 S convertible and I agree it’s the perfect sports car for the rest of my life thanks for doing the videos
the 991.1 is ageing very well, thanks
definetely on my 911 list!! lottery win first though
Fantastic video Roger. What a totally stunning car, It just looks so amazing and the wheels are so perfect and really do set the car off. Definitely a very cool and amazing 911.
cheers Turbo Mac - good hearing from you
Bit late to the party here, but great video Roger. My dad has just bought one of these, with the houndstooth interior, lovely thing. It’s the one car I hope he never gets rid of! I’m due to take delivery of a 718 GT4 in December so it will be very interesting to compare the two.
thanks ! your dad has a brilliant car there as will you, two quite different driving experiences.
Loved the video. And yes I just bought the car. Identical to the one in the video but the check seats. I've been lucky enough to have had a few 911's (every model from 1971 911 2.4T to 2018 991.2 GTS) but this is my favourite. It is as you say understated cool but for me the dog-tooth check seats are a must, just completes the Retro feel. Prices are way over 100k now and I think will go further. However, that is irrelevant as I won't be selling this one. Even if you can't get hold of the 50th edition any 991.1 S (or GTS) is the goldilocks 911 of the air cooled/pre-turbo era as the 993 4S was for the air-cooled.
excellent purchase mark, the 50th is a fine wine, I loved my too short a day in this one.
thanks for showing this, not one I've thought of before now I'm searching through autotrader
look no further than Porsche Chester, this ones still there :-)
nice one
Lovely. I'm an original owner of a 911-50 Geyser Gray with PDK. For this configuration 0-60 is accomplished in 3.8 sec (manufacturer claim) with a top speed of 187.
you have a gorgeous car there Eric
Every 911 is tasteful retro...
great point
Another belting video Roger, would have a manual with houndstooth in a heart beat 👌
Thanks very much Royd yes hounds tooth & manual would be perfect
Nice one “Roger” I like the way you presented the car and particularly the video shots ( love the aerial view crossing the canal) It’s nice to see a car like this being driven in the real world!
Lastly keep up the good work people like you and “Harry” are my kind of presenters oh and yes I’ll race you to buy it Lol😎
Cheers Nick, its still for sale last time I looked
Well filmed Roger and a stunning looking car.
thanks tom
You only have 6k subscribers how can this be? Rodger this is the best car channel I've come across well done, you've demonstrated this car perfectly, I hope you are on a good commission
thanks ! no not on any commissions
Lucky to own it with Graphite Gray/Pepita combination. Tony Hatter did a great job designing it the way it is. Nothing more nothing less.
Couldn't agree more!
I have the geizer gray, only one I have kept this long. Had a min of 15 Porsches. Incl '89 speedster, '96 twin turbo, and a bunch of 993
Great video and I love the car 👍
Excellent review I love 911! And this made me want another but I love my Bentley too much?????
Brilliantly delivered Roger and smoothly announced information .
cheers Dean
Very cool. I reckon you should do a video on a rare limited edition Boxster next. The 2008 RS60 Spyder. Small touches also made this 1 of 1960 cars very special. Just make sure you test a manual....
sbaudert I like your idea, I just need to find one !
You should seriously consider buying this 50th 911 edition. Nice lines and the wheels are nice too
I'm thinking about it Stephen !
Only thing that spoils this one. The 50th had herringbone inserts in seats as standard with full leather as no cost option. This has full leather and takes value off against those with herringbone.
a beautiful car.
i recall seeing 1 in my local porsche dealer belfast and it was a cream colour. so was this a PTS colour of maybe a LHD model.
a lot of them were that cream colour, other standard colours were black and this grey colour
I want one ❤
Tasteful video. I own #443 (manual). Fun watching the wheels in motion.
Know that little bridge over the canal very well; that was my route into Chester when I worked there for a few months. Nice roads around that neck of the woods...
Plus, another brilliant video - keep up the great work! 👍
cheers Kurt, yes it's a nice part of the world
This is the best modern 911 ever. Much better than the 2020 version.
Beautiful car, pity it wasn't specced with the Sports Plus seats, it's the only thing I would say is wrong with the spec. (I have similar seats in a Boxster and the Sports Plus in the 911 and there is a massive difference in comfort.) I think Sports Plus on the Chrono Pack is too much for the road, Sports mode is a lot better for that. Good video, and one other thing you're correct about is the sales team in Chesire are very nice. Was there many years ago and when approached by a sales member I explained I was only there to drool and he was as nice as you could get. Chatted, offered coffee and told me to work away and that most cars were open. You don't get that in attitude in many places.
Good points about the seats & sports plus, and yes the coffee flows freely at Chester !
Just for a few seconds, I thought you'd hired the new James Bond for the start of your video :-))... Then you took off your sunglasses... And the illusion was shattered... :-))...
That grey colour looks stunning on this 911. And the wheels!! In white?? I thought at first "nah! That's the wrong colour." But they just brilliantly add to the appearance too.
Lovely car RB. Lovely car.
Though I have a question. When is the "Blonde Stalker" (Stalker No2, I hasten to add!) going to be doing the driving again?
From your "still" No1 Stalker :-))...
hey TZ stalker 1. good to see you stopping by, Blondie took the day off but will return !
@@RogerBaileyOnCars - Given the day off!? Slavery just isn't like it used to be :-))...
EDIT - I just "spent" £ 137,984.00 on the Porsche UK website building my new 992 Carrera 4S. Not sure why, but Carmine Red spoke to me for the body colour!! 🤔
Videos get better Roger this one well worth the wait what a great car
Thanks for saying Ed 👍
damn that looks good rolling
Nice one Roger
I just got one. It is gorgeous.
many congratulations Nick
Another almost ethereal production...I think you should surprise Jilly with this car to show your appreciation! 🥰
thanks Lerxstification now theres an idea !!
You’re in a fantasy land.
I’ve owned 911s for the last 30 years and in the last 15 years all of my water cooled models depreciated like a stone. You can buy a pampered 911/996 for $20k USD.
you're buying the wrong models my friend
Roger Bailey in my notifications again and it's another great bit of watch time
I'm so glad to hear si
0-60 in 4.3 seconds with the left turn signal on.
What an interesting and well made vid, and what an achingly, cool and beautiful, understated car. 👍🙏😎
Nicely done Roger. There is a white 50th at Merit Partners here in Atlanta as well.
thanks Lee appreciated, white 50th now that will be worth seeing
Beautiful car Roger. Thanks for the vid.
welcome Simon
Sweet Ride I own one for 1 year now it’s a very exciting car Love your video
Michael Spino thanks, you have a great car
Ultimate LiquId cooled normally aspirated 911, not a fan of the endless taillight on the new 911 with turbo motor.
Lovely.
I own one of the 987 Boxster Spyders and love every bit of it. Porsche does a great job coming up with all kind of limited edition variations and people buy them for that reason. But, I’m thinking they are overdoing it. “Last of its generation” here, ltd. edition there, and a while later, another unforeseen upgrade shows up. The latest example is the 4.0 GTS, which makes the buyers of the 718 look like fools and disappoints the people who bought the “last 6 cylinder Boxsters” from not too long ago. And if you look closer, the limited numbers are really not that limited. I always like to compare the 911 Speedster (1948 built) with a ridiculous premium price, to the Alpina brand. Alpina builds a really low number of models, (less than those Porsche numbers) with outrageous performance and much better practicality, at a much better price point. Absolutely love my “worldwide only 1100” 200 mph 600 HP 4WD Alpina B6 (
good points thanks Norbert
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant Roger...... Question is, are you going to buy it? 😂👍😎
thanks Kev I dont think I am going to buy it, I'll have to make do with just one Porsche !
Do you happen to know how much of each color were manufactured?
Very poetic Roger if I may say so. Amazing how that Porsche looks like new. Shows the quality of the product I guess. Truly a magnificent machine. So... did you buy it? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
cheers Jon, I haven't bought it !
Pity you didn't put the sound of the car in
Thanks for the video Roger. What a desirable car
your welcome Robert
Nice video, I enjoy most of your video. Do you think your 718 Spyder will hold it is value as well? And Why? Also how would you compare the 911 speedster vs 718 Spyder? How much of the speedster experice yiu get from the Spyder? 50%? More? Less? Thank you for your great work
Thanks, values are unpredictable right now with high value car prices lessening, as for speedster v spyder well spyder is simpler fun while speedster gives more of everything
Are you wearing the "very coolest" Porsche leather jacket? Walter Röhrl has one.
lol I'm flattered walter has my jacket !
Don't mess about Roger, just buy it
don't tempt me anymore Rusty ;-)
Roger it's like buying a house, at the time it is unbelievably expensive and you can't see how you can afford it, then looking back in 15 years time you wish you'd bought two. :)
If that wee sprint was 60mph my dads a German Porsche chief executive. Lol.
😉
Looking at 1:40 - brand new 50 years Porsche
And need to be polished, c’mon.
Details is what separate greats, just my 2 cents !
Good video nicely done
I'm waiting for 2064. 100th anniversary 911 will be worth waiting for. But what will propel it?
I have never owned a Porsche that held it's value. The sales ambassadors wax lyrical about the Porsches I would buy about them either holding their value or appreciating, that is, until it's time to sell them then they chant the high mileage mantra......I sold three with 7500, 3500 and 4800 miles........that doesn't seem high to me.
If you don't drive it, yes. And then, whats the point?
Nice Enjoyed the review..... Cool leather jacket as well :-)
thanks 😎
Are you still feeling good about these cars in terms of desirability and value?
these cars continue to stack up in all the ways I mentioned
@@RogerBaileyOnCars I may be buying one tomorrow!
That one doesn't have the retro, houndstooth fabric interior unfortunately ...... and it's not a manual .
Nice one Roger.
Question: Are thoose wheels exclusively for the 50’th anniversary only?
cheers Sponzo I believe the wheels exclusive to the 50th
@Roger Bailey You know I agree that the 50th 991 is a pretty cool car....it is not the 'Coolest Porsche". I think the 997.2 Sport Classic or a well done PTS GT3 would probably get my vote for that honour. But the 911 50th is, no doubt, an amazing and beautiful 991! The wider rear end from the 4S, those retro-style gauges and the hounds-tooth ('Pepita') seat inserts are each particularly special touches. Personally, I could do without all of the chrome bright-work bits that the Zuffenhauseny crew threw on.
Q: While watching your video I noted (2:31) that the vehicle you took out didn't seem to have the third radiator. ":c 0 > ruclips.net/video/Ur_1MSDwgCc/видео.html.
You will see at 8:19 the central cutout for the third radiator.
thanks for the interesting point about the third radiator, I believe this car did have the power kit, the UK is usually pretty cold of course !
Isn't the 911.1 GTS the same car without the 50 badges and is available cheaper ....
Liked your video, I have a 60th Club Coupe, basically the same car (power kit and wide body, PTS color) except the Club Coupe is badged as a GTS and has the the Sport Design package (Ducktail) our PCA club owners who own the 50th anniversary are proud owners and feel the same way you do about this limited edition 991.1
Rene' sounds like you have a special car there, you got me googling !
nice video Mr B not sure about those shades tho
thanks me neither Jake
So, are you going to buy it???
Can you please do a review of the GT3 Touring?
Does anyone know how many were sent to USA. Thanks.
Very Nice and Informative Video; yet where are the Best Places to Google to find these cars ? Additionally, what is your take on the PDK vs the Manuel Shifting transmission on the 50th Anniversary 2014 Porsche 911, ... Thank You, Jim G Phoenix, Arizona.
Porsche approved car system might find a 50th but they are rare, I would think the manual box would suit it well.
Schönes Video,es grüßt die Nummer 1163
Dank
They are all coming off we have an R at #ashgood and it's almost half its peak value
You guys are not worried about the new Corvette?
er no
The new C8 looks brilliant especially considering it's price
Worth the premium over a 991.1 GTS?
for me I would say so
Nice production! However for that amount of dream cashflow, id much rather prefer to buy a new 2020 luxuary equipped Porsche. Off course definetly no SUV. But perhaps a Panamera. Just because i have a big hunch the comfort must be something else. It must have some kind of DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) like my GTI have right? Have you tried the Panamera? Any opinions..?
It's a good point you make 3DFX, I've reviewed a couple of Panameras - scroll down my vids to see. I love them, particularly the V8 they are a dream drive.
@@RogerBaileyOnCars Allrightey, thanks! I might have a look! 👍
My 2018 Subaru 50th Anniversary BRZ car is one of only 250 BRZ's, much limited production than what greedy Porsche did with their Anniversary cars. I know my Subaru is not as prestigious as a Porsche but oh well.
How much is it up for
£95,500.00
Roger Bailey Thankyou would you go for one
Full leather interior in this car is plain stupid. Should have had the checkered cloth/leather interior. That fits the 50th anniversary edition better.
Aren’t those the wheels off of a Volkswagen Beetle?
Oh my dad died in 1975.
Nice video Roger, lovely car and as you say nicely understated. Aesthetically any colour other than grey would have been preferable for me... :-)
thanks Alan
Porsche Silverstone had one of those in Black....... £99k. Apparently it was owned by a very famous, but unnamed, Chef
Paintwork is marked and swirled, the exhaust tips are dirty in the showroom before it’s taken out on the road and yet........they want top money....so the least amount of work for the most amount of money, poor show.
I will pass. Prefer the 992 look 2020
Hasn’t got the houndstooth fabric. Fail by the original owner...
Looks like another product of the Porsche marketing department to me, especially as they all seem to be PDK which is not very retro at all and for a Porsche road car harks back to all of 2009
Lol have that sport steering wheel on my bosxter s
it's a lovely wheel, feels perfect
Is this Satire ? ? Oh yeah buy your way to cool lol
Great car, wrong color.
