This was very helpful. Thank you for covering so well.
Hi and thanks for this seines of videos; very helpful. I've been using Trip Wizard for a year and a half and IMO it's the best RV trip planner available. Two things about this video that may confuse people (if I'm correct in my usage of the program). First, when you select a camp site Trip Wizard doesn't make the reservation. When you call the campsite there may not be availability which can change the planning process considerably. For me, this is the most time consuming part of using the program. Second, the radius circle is based on the Way the Crow Flies and not on actual driving mileage. This can (and did for me) add a significant amount of daily driving miles to each leg. Once again, Trip Wizard is well worth the money and I wouldn't plan a trip without using your program - just want to help the new users avoid some confusion.
Jdux dux , accurate observations. Thanks for the additional feedback and help for new users.
I don't pick up my trailer until late September (2021) and one of my concerns has been answered with this RV Trip Wizard. I will wait until late August to purchase the product to get used to it before I take possession of the trailer.
Great video and I will order RV Trip Wizard as a result of your fine video. My question is if I am planning a long trip from Colorado to Alaska and returning to Colorado (round trip), do I use the final destination as Colorado or Alaska?
When you put the RV length in the default settings if you are towing a car with a motorhome should you put the motorhome length in or the total with car?
Any plans to add Harvest Hosts to the membership options?
+1
Does RV Trip Wizard have in its data base US State Parks, National Parks and Canada's Provincial Parks and National Parks? Is there a way to print the screen of your trip?
Does Trip Wizard have a setting to route around elevation?
Can trip wizard work on ios or android? while traveling.
Wow this looks like an awesome app just seems like it could be a little overwhelming..
Where is the toggle for the satellite view or street view?
I just subscribed to RV Trip Wizard. I have a travel trailer, not a self contained RV but on the default settings there is no place to note that, and it won't let me go past the fuel consumption. There is none since it is a trailer.
Diana, just enter the height, weight, and length of the trailer. It will all still be valid. No designation is needed as to whether it's a motorhome or trailer.
Doesn't your tow vehicle use fuel?
I’m in Canada, can I change from miles to kilometres?
tfcfan3 , not yet. Something we are working towards though.
10/18/2019: We just subscribed to RV Trip Wizard today. The concept is great, but the blasted thing keeps crashing. Several times throughout my trip planning a popup appeared stating "The trip changes could not be saved as this trip has been modified by another process since it was loaded..." It suggests that maybe someone else is modifying the same trip, but that wasn't the case. I then closed the site and reopened it on another laptop with the same result. We are using Windows 10 and Chrome on both laptops. I've sent a note to Trip Wizard and will hopefully be updating this post with some good news. Right now, though, I fear we've wasted $39.
Hi There. Is there any chance you are logged into Trip Wizard with another device, even a phone or tablet? This is usually the cause of this issue. Even a second browser on the same computer could cause this.
No; we had only just signed up, had just started using it, and only one device was even powered up. I made sure I was logged out of our account on the first laptop before opening RVTW on the second laptop, but it also happened on the second laptop. Thank you for looking into this. I see that it can be a very useful and user-friendly tool, and we had planned on using it quite a bit.
Is RV TRIP WIZARD available for Apple products
Ric Snead , yes. It runs in a web browser, like Chrome or Safari. Works great on Apple devices.
This video looks nothing like the app I've downloaded, nor the website. I couldn't be less pleased. Cancel my membership. I'll find another tool.
what about points of interest?
We have a Points of Interest section Wendy that lets you choose from a variety of options. It's in the Resource menu on the right-hand side of your screen.
How many stops/waypoints can I put in one trip?
For some reason my radius is not showing up. Any suggestions?
Double-check Trip Settings and make sure you are selected either on Time or Distance, under the Routing and Driving Tab.
@@RVLIFETripWizard please add Harvest Host
How do I download RV Trip wizard on to Pioneer AVIC-U280
I do not find RV Trip Wizard to be user friendly AT ALL. I’ve been playing with it for hours and so far 👎
I agree!!! I have had a terrible time with it. I just want to add a stop between 2 and 3 and it is not at all intuitive!!! It says, "Add after this ........." but does not. I am computer literate, but it is not at all simple to figure out. The videos are good, but sometimes you need to watch a LOT to get a simple question answered. A real manual would be a wonderful thing.
