Voting for terracotta roofing tiles, lots of curved archways, and more muted stucco tones with touches of natural materials. Bright, primary and pastel colors are dominating right now instead. I loved the OG yellow wall color, the new one is throwing me off- it's giving mcdonalds arches in combo with the red roof 😅
I agree I think the original color was closer to a stucco which pairs well with the Spanish roof tiles, terracotta floor tiles and Latin American architecture
I agree that the old yellow might be better suited to the build. I noticed the new yellow really changed colour out of build mode and in normal "daytime" and become much more lemony, which didn't seem quite right.
I wonder if he could play with the primary and pastel colors, but through shades of yellow. Like if the main house stays that more lemony or sunshiny yellow, then the studio could have a golden yellow or the stucco of the original house. I think he also could lean more into Realm of Magic windows and doors. If he wants to bring in the other Tiny Towner colors, that's actually a great way to do it. I feel like the brown swatches have some of the most colorful stained glass.
There’s a house in Ljubljana which combines this kind of muted yellow stuco with pops of this sky blue, rounded doors, and a more terracotta roof and that’s what I was thinking of as far as color
I think you should lean into the Mexican style from Lovestruck for the exterior. Boho is not an architectural style, and there's no need to force it to be one. You can just focus on making the interiors as boho as possible. Maybe add in a courtyard so you can bring some boho furniture outside as well.
The build is looking a bit too clowncore/kidcore & not really boho (too many flat bright primary colors). Maybe change the bright red roof to be one of the terracotta tile ones to lean more into a Mexican/South American style with it. Then focus decor & architecture on Lovestruck & Jungle Adventure, maybe some of the maximalist kit could be good too. Vines/flowers hanging on the outside walls could also help. Choosing a stucco textured yellow wall for the exterior would tone things down too & feel more earthship-y like someone else was suggesting.
For Silas' house, I think the Casita from the movie Encanto style house could work really well with the Boho style. I just love how bright and colorful and full of life it is! ☀️
I don't know, feel like a "Mexican" inspired it's pretty Boho to me. As a Latin American I feel like the loud, colorful and eclectic aspect of our culture kind of match it, so I would probably go that route, using Love Struck, Jungle Adventure and For Rent stuff instead of Realm of magic more "cottagecore" approach. Like having different colored tiles and rugs, loud patterns, tessel curtains and archways instead of doors. That sofa "corner" around 1:32:32 could be like internal garden or some kind of "altar" dedicated to past family members.
Same!! Boho is inspired by the people who travel a lot, often times taking inspiration from Morocco and Spain. A lot of Latam cultures have the same vibe because of the Conquista, so an "Hacienda" style really fits!
8:22 Silas over here jealous nearly all his siblings have completed their homes. So, he is casually stealing things from their homes and sabotaging them! 😂😂
@ivonne_lau This is how the last event worked too. The weekly thing is just a release date for segments of the Event so no one is overwhelmed and flustered or blasts through everything in 3 days on YT/Streaming, creating spoilers.
Might I suggest that the second floor over the studio is a mezzanine level, with an open to below center, and a catwalk around the exterior walls, so the art walls are accessible/viewable. That way you get the extra height in the studio you wanted, and room to display the art upstairs. Also, I think I would add more texture to the exterior wallpaper choices, like stucco or the new worn ones that came in Lovestruck. I like the RoM windows, very whimsical. I'd stick to more yellow & blue with fewer red accents. Perhaps more terracotta instead of the red. It provides texture, which is a bonus. Remember there are two different terracotta tile roofs, plus consider the For Rent tile roof. And.. good luck! 🤪🤞
I'm with everyone saying you should totally lean into the Mexican/South American architecture! When I saw your inspo picture, I immediately thought of the house from the movie Encanto!
When I think boho I think earthy hippie vibes. More earth tones and pastels. More wood. Wood walls concrete with tapestries and soft texture. Also there’s no door into the bathroom.
I like the idea you had towards the beginning of your build with yellow and blue. I think using too many colors strays away from Silas's yellow/boho theme. Also the yellow and red is giving McDonald's LOL
I love the shape of the house, I think it could be super cute, but I'm not a huge fan of the colours. The yellow is too bright and all the colours together makes it feel more clowncore than Boho
i think the shape could use some improvement too.. would be wonderful to have an inside courtyard with a fountain or something like that. i also think the house could be smaller
I like everything but the red roof. Most other colors would go. It feels cool toned and then warm toned or something. Don't make Silas have to share his house colors with the others on purpose. Like he already is last to get his second episode! and he clearly has envy as he is stealing from the others lol.
For the boho house I would love a wooden structure with some simple concrete walls around, some chalk hand-painted looking sections (like fences), DIY looking furniture and planters, plants and lanterns.
Bohemianism has its roots in a social-cultural movement that championed art (literature, music, dance, etc) and normalized things like free love, frugality, simple living, etc. Many bohemians chose to live in voluntary poverty as a form of anti-establishment protest. Think communal living or starving artists. I think you would want to choose to incorporate low-tech items intentionally. Mix materials and patterns rather than just colors to avoid clownishness, so you have brick, wood, tile, etc. I feel there is an earthiness to the bohemian style that needs to be brought into the build, not just plants. Think free market, global exchange, and self-sufficiency items. Bohemian culture is what developed into hippies in the 60's/70's and you could use things like beaded curtains and the bubble blower. I imagine using the hummingbird feeder, wicker furniture, fireplace, functional-off-the-grid items, crafting materials, and handmaid-looking items. I think they would oppose the use of mass-produced or normative items (I want us to remove the saucer lights and use a lot more lamps). Hope that helps! Good luck!
Byron bay is very boho! You could lean into bohemian vardo caravan style which there may be some stuff with the next pack that would suit. Beaded curtains in paranormal pack and love struck. Hanging plants, nifty knitting looks quite boho to me. Wall tapestries and rattan wood, bean bags and floor cushions. Bubble blower. Maybe travel to each world and steal something to give that travelled eclectic boho style.
I agree with a lot of other suggestions here about the colours and textures and how to make them more boho. I wanted to add that a lot of the pre-existing boho furniture could be good to use to create a colour scheme around those items. There are obviously a lot of colours used, but they’re all in ‘boho’ combinations and tones so they work well as a guide. Also, as well as layering rugs, pictures and plants, I’d recommend adding mirrors with fancy frames in random places.
The new building shape is awesome!! The one color that stands out as not meshing IMO is the white. Maybe the couple of white sections could be changed to more yellow, like a warmer shade? Or even light pink?
With all your build issues in this save, you may as well build the house in a different lot to the budget and size you want, upload it to the gallery and then have Silas pay for it and place it on his lot!
For the friend move in thing, where they get sad if you decline, I think I saw it in simsie's video and she said to accept but cancel when the popup shows up so that they don't get sad about it but also won't move in
The red roof looks too bright to me; as someone else in the comments mentioned, the house side reminds me of McDonald's. 😅🍔🍟 However, the Realm of Magic windows fit the boho style perfectly. 🥰 Love your videos and your channel. I can't wait for your next post! ❤
I think you should go back to the breezeway idea and make the whole middle section (4 or 5 tiles) the breezeway between the house and studio. Keep the 2nd level entrance to the gallery and maybe have the floor partly open to the studio below. Love this build and all the colors!
Def clowncore. I would make it like a desert kind of home where its a lot of concrete kind of stone/terracotta, neutral colors, etc. Lots of texture vs lots of color
"Can I just dump anyone that I have a full healthy happy relationship with for no particular reason?? This seems a little silly..." - James discovers avoidant attachment.
I think of boho as being a lot of natural textures, like wicker and macrame, but then also brick and tile, as well as organic patterns; not necessarily the bright/varied colors
45:49 "Is that Izzy? No, that's Silas. Wait, that's me. That's Camilo." Is a very strange string of words to hear when you're not fully paying attention.
58:55 James talking about how ridiculous is that you can dump a Sim over a phone when the romantic relationship is full...well yeah it happens in real life too and unfortunately I'm talking from experience 😭 I guess it is a realistic feature in the Sims after all 😂
I love the build so far, I also want to see some terra-cotta roofing tiles, but I saw someone in another video mentioning that Cilas needs a golden retriever, which is perfect because he and his boyfriend have golden retriever boyfriend energy (especially after this episode lol)
Thank you James for continuing to deal with all the bugs to finish this LP ❤. After this I think it will be a while before we see James work with 4rent! Loving Silas’ house ❤
I just wanted to say that Boho comes from the Bohemian style from the 60s and 70s, which was heavily inspired by Mexico and Eastern Europe. It was adjacent to the hippie movement and very counter culture
Just found your channel and started watching this series and now im like welp. Gotta wait like the rest of your subs for a new episode 😭 now how will i spend my downtime !!!
Little late for posting a comment, but I really needed the laughs to take my mind off Hurricane Milton. My home is in the eye of the hurricane. Thanks James for the upload today! 😁
It gives color block. Try more “with nature” vibes for the outside. Plants, vines, flowers to brighten up the space then put more focus on the interior for the true boho vibe.
I love the little raised seating area with the curtains, but maybe use the poofs/cushions/pillows for seating instead of the sofa. I dont think they can use the sofa.
The tricky part about boho as an aesthetic is the definition of it is: whatever an individual feels like adding regardless of "rules" about aesthetics. It's largely associated with maximalism and lots of color, but that's really just because most "rules" these days lean toward minimalism and limited color palettes.
The bathroom looks good, I like the size and it fits nicely beside the staircase, but it's taking up a bunch of space it doesn't need to IMHO. Maybe put it beside either bay window, though I'm thinking specifically the square bay window. You could put it beside the door but I was thinking of aligning it lengthwise towards the kitchen, to take up a little less space and creating a small corridor there with room for a tub, or else put the bathroom into that nook at the back, between the studio foyer and the kitchen. Then you could create a separate dining room beside the stairs, just expand it. I could easily see one of the big or small round tables in there, even if you wanted dining and kitchen combined together. You could even move the bathroom up stairs if you preferred and then make it really big and luxurious, just put a second public restroom downstairs in the studio when Silas has more money since he doesn't really invite people over unless it's for work, maybe it could be beside a changing room (and make sure to tag it as a bathroom sink lol.) Also I'm in agreement with the other comments that the roof should be a red terracotta tile and the outer walls on the house need to go back to that subdued golden yellow it was before so the house matches the studio color scheme better. It's just too much with the brighter colors and it feels disjointed when the studio is already subdued. You could use the lemon yellow inside or as an accent if you wanted to.
You can turn off auto decorations in the calendar. Edit the holiday, choose "None" for decoration theme and no more auto decorations anywhere for that holiday. No more buying decor box and manually removing every holiday.
I love the build portion of the video because you get to watch James slowly lose his mind and turn the house from boho into a fever dream home representation of the whole of tiny town 😂❤
Bohemian style is very multicultural and is like an eclectic, artistic mashup of many vibrant patterns and textures. It also tends to have muted Earth tones to balance the brightness. It was originally created by the Roma people of France (then known as bohemians) who culturally are travellers and artists who collected and were inspired by beautiful things throughout their journeys. It’s evolved to include non-European elements as well but the idea is the same. Multicultural, artistic, earthy, and eclectic.
just when i'm about to start working... 😅 but this is a sacrifice i'm willing to make edit: tip for anyone struggling to complete lovestruck dates - i always pick tv as one of the activities so that i can complete it passively as the sims speak! my picks are always tv, one interaction thing (friendly, funny or romantic) and drinks. sims can drink and watch tv while they speak so the dates are basically autocomplete
@@annoar9776 at your service m'am 🫡 my sim was selected for 7 wild dates when i was doing the every life stage challenge so i had to date A LOT. finding ways to cheese the dates was the only way she could date with a toddler, an infant and a newborn lol
In the photo gallery room, you could use the photo sell item that looks like a wall to create additional interior walls for the photos and they would be seen when the walls are down. Love the build and the series!
You don't have to change his aspiration to get his mischief skill up. He can play pranks and use deception to do that. It starts off small and gets worse as his level. Five minutes later...I don't think we need to worry about getting his level up. Stole the pizza oven with the pizza still in it. I say he really loves cooking. I know what you can do to make money, go to each of the different worlds and take pictures of the worlds. That scene of the water in Tartosa got me thinking of this.
The fact that the series is called 'Tiny Town' but nothing is tiny 😜 Btw, Thanks James for keep going even with all the lags/bugs etc. The game is such a pain rn but this is still my fav series to watch.
I wouldn’t say this is boho. It’s like a very wacky building with too many colors! I agree with everyone that you should lean into a mix of Latin American or Mediterranean style. With more earthy materials, etc. The initial picture you had as inspiration for part 1 was much closer to it than what you did for this part
For the upstairs of the photo studio, you could do some kind of "dark room", where Silas reveals the photos he has taken. You don't need to delete the windows, just put some shutters/blinds and a red light (just a normal light, and you can customize the color in the living mode)
I feel like you can play more with different textures rather than colours. Different woods, shingles, different shades of yellow, etc. Colours are fun, but the point is to have a specific colour for each sim, so mixing colours up doesn't really seem logical Also, Boho is pretty much about things not matching and being all over the place, so you can let loose and go absolutely crazy and creative!
Some ideas: The colors and patterns can be in the same family, like jewel tones or warm autumn colors, etc. That way it's at least a little cohesive. Lots of vintage things from different places and time periods, natural materials, lots of textiles like rugs and drapes and such, and a cozy ambience. Maybe with candles and string lights around... eclectic wall art, an old tea set, floor cushions, plants (incl. hanging and wall), makeshift elements, stuff like that.
Fun Tip: When someone asks to move in, just say yes and cancel at the switch household screen. It avoids you getting the annoying negative moodlet 😂
I do that all the time. It's a wonderful tip.
Is this the reason people say they’re coming to my party but then don’t show up? To avoid a negative moodlet? 😭
Came here to say this! I do it all the time and no hard feelings 😁
Thank you so much! I didn´t consider that option yet

You could even move the bathroom up stairs if you preferred and then make it really big and luxurious, just put a second public restroom downstairs in the studio when Silas has more money since he doesn't really invite people over unless it's for work, maybe it could be beside a changing room (and make sure to tag it as a bathroom sink lol.)
Also I'm in agreement with the other comments that the roof should be a red terracotta tile and the outer walls on the house need to go back to that subdued golden yellow it was before so the house matches the studio color scheme better. It's just too much with the brighter colors and it feels disjointed when the studio is already subdued. You could use the lemon yellow inside or as an accent if you wanted to.
He needs a bubble blower somewhere in the house.
You can let Silas return the stolen objects if you place it in build mode. And then you just click on it in live mode and then he returns it
You can turn off auto decorations in the calendar. Edit the holiday, choose "None" for decoration theme and no more auto decorations anywhere for that holiday. No more buying decor box and manually removing every holiday.
More tiny town get in!! I've missed James' videos 🫠
I love the build portion of the video because you get to watch James slowly lose his mind and turn the house from boho into a fever dream home representation of the whole of tiny town 😂❤
I agree with most of the comments here and think you should lean in to the Latin style. I think the outside should be more stone and lots of plants.
😅 but this is a sacrifice i'm willing to make
edit: tip for anyone struggling to complete lovestruck dates - i always pick tv as one of the activities so that i can complete it passively as the sims speak! my picks are always tv, one interaction thing (friendly, funny or romantic) and drinks. sims can drink and watch tv while they speak so the dates are basically autocomplete
omg thank you 😂
@@annoar9776 at your service m'am 🫡 my sim was selected for 7 wild dates when i was doing the every life stage challenge so i had to date A LOT. finding ways to cheese the dates was the only way she could date with a toddler, an infant and a newborn lol
If nobody said it, the decoration box is in Ruben’s meat locker
I feel bad for silas 😂 he didnt get his own colour he got everyone elses colour also the red, it looks crazy 😂
In the photo gallery room, you could use the photo sell item that looks like a wall to create additional interior walls for the photos and they would be seen when the walls are down. Love the build and the series!
I really like the yellow & magenta door! those two colors are great for boho, along with any/all colors of brown wood.
perfect timing i was looking for something to watch!
Honestly, I needed this! Thanks James🎉 having a terrible day so this is going to give me a smile and a boost of serotonin 😂
I was craving Tiny Town!
I don't think the bathroom has a door. Which might be inconvenient. Love your builds though.
I came here for this comment!
I'm loving this new house idea - funky but fun
The fact that the series is called 'Tiny Town' but nothing is tiny 😜
Btw, Thanks James for keep going even with all the lags/bugs etc. The game is such a pain rn but this is still my fav series to watch.
For real, I only laugh when he's yelling at the game because I feeeeeel that 😂😂😂
love how it’s coming together! super fun build, love the jungle adventure stuff in there too
Yay I was so looking forward to this. 💛
Earthships are great for Boho design inspo! Maybe even a caravan so he can be a "travelling photographer"
Given the sizes of the "tiny homes", a giant caravan then?
I wouldn’t say this is boho. It’s like a very wacky building with too many colors! I agree with everyone that you should lean into a mix of Latin American or Mediterranean style. With more earthy materials, etc. The initial picture you had as inspiration for part 1 was much closer to it than what you did for this part
For the upstairs of the photo studio, you could do some kind of "dark room", where Silas reveals the photos he has taken.
You don't need to delete the windows, just put some shutters/blinds and a red light (just a normal light, and you can customize the color in the living mode)
there's another plumbite in pablo's yard lol
About the moving in sentiment (36:50) just say yes and then cancel it. That way nobody is hurt.
I feel like you can play more with different textures rather than colours. Different woods, shingles, different shades of yellow, etc. Colours are fun, but the point is to have a specific colour for each sim, so mixing colours up doesn't really seem logical
Also, Boho is pretty much about things not matching and being all over the place, so you can let loose and go absolutely crazy and creative!
Omg at the end when he says I am gonna leave it here now with no doors into the bathroom and bedroom, the stress I felt was real.
