Also my six year old daughter asked me a while back if ham radio was only for boys, and I told her no and showed her your channel, now she wants to get her ham license. Hopefully she'll stick to it, it'd be nice to not be the only ham nerd in my family.
Very interresting and well explained! The little reference on the finite amount of available energy (and the fact that we cannot create energy, but only exploit the ones that are already pre-existing) was very relevant. By the way, I like the Siglent SDS1202X-E in the background, though. A very good value for the money for this 2 channels / 200 MHz oscilloscope loaded with functionalities.
Forward gain over a given isotropic baseline is still gain. It's forward gain by manipulating directional concentration. As for the California KW, Australia is pushing for 400 to 1000w change on HF. It's great to see more women getting into this hobby too. Good video.
Question? Just acquired my General ham radio licence...purpose for distance traveling, safety, emergency and etc. Do I need a HF 100watt output mobile radio. And if so, for better reception, can I locate two antennias front and rear of my vehicle. I understand using matching antennia cables with a split cable connection. Your insight deeply appreciated. Thank you.
Speaker magnetic use antenna is it possible or not with out repeaters use how to working vhf / UHF signal go to long distance how to calculated antenna (frequency ) Making formula plz explain and any changes in vhf UHF base circuits communication go to long distance what's type of Metral use antenna makes I am ham
Great video... - Thank you. I really enjoy your channel, you can take a complicated subject and 'dumb it down' for those of us who need the 'dumbed down version' ;) I'm thinking about upgrading the antenna in my back yard. What vertical HF multi-band antenna would you recommend? Michael VA6XMB
Please don't boot me or think that iam awkward or weird for stating this , but I have a big thing for nerdie chicks with 👓. I always have . Thats why I watch your videos. I know you are probabley saying well ok Mr. weirdo. I really enjoy your videos. I probabley freaked you out by admitting that but at 33 iam getting to old to be careful anymore. And I know that there is nothing for me out there anyways. Ok well I should shut up cause I probabley weirded you out , but I really, really love chicks with big brains.
@@forgetyourlife yeah that's true cause the I know one kid and all he wants to do is play fortnite and minecraft. When I was in middle school it was all about pokemon trading cards and colored game boys with sensors that you would have to keep lined up to play from gameboy to gameboy. If only I still had my ps1 I know thatsbworth some money now. All I have is two left over game carriages from super nintendo and the original nes and at the time nintendo 64 was the big thing. I got the yard sale specials from my mom. And I was happy untill I saw a friends 64.
Great to see a YL making Ham videos
Omg this was the most informative helpful video I have found.. thank you so very much!
Great info Ria! Love your vids so informative. Ham radio is so interesting👍Thank you

Excellent video!! I enjoy people like you who speak to normal people like myself who don't have a PhD in engineering!!!
Nice tip on HFTA, will definitely be using that to get a better picture of what my antenna is doing.

Very informative. Thank you.
Thanks for keeping the lesson simple ma'am, also they use decibels to measure sound.
Thanks, Ria!! Please keep spreading your vast knowledge with us, because some of us really appreciate it!! 73!!
@@n2rj QSL, Ria. I enjoyed your interview on Ham Nation last week. Thanks, again!!
I wish you would aurthor some books on antennas . Awesome video. Thank u for sharing your knowledge! ❤❤❤
Im working on something,
Great Job, Very Interesting, Looking forward to future Video's 73's
Hi, Ria. Another great video! I now have a much better understanding of gain. Alan KZ6B

Generally, no. A car doesn’t offer enough space to phase antennas to combine for better reception or transmission.
I thought the California KilloWatt was for CB radios?
Do you ever listen to the tech net (LIMARC) W2VL when Dick Knadle K2RIW(SK) hosted it? His in depth understanding of Antennas is paramount!
@ 10.14, i did, and now i'm giggling!

Excellent video! really appreciate these explanations.. subbed and belled :)

I like this channel. Ham radio 👍🏻
I always see the dBi figure listed on antennas for sale because it's a bigger, more impressive number.
I struggle with this concept while studying for tests.
Just memorize the question/answer bank. You’ll do fine
The earth has its own resonance/ clever people use the earth's resonance tuning to the earth FRQ to build energy
Created long time ago ?! . In (alpha” “omega)there is no time limit !

33 old? Maybe if your mark is to keep up with teens playing Fortnite.
