  • Performed by the Academy of Danse Libre, at the Stanford Fall Ball. The performance version of Romany Polka is slightly different from the social version, but it fits within the social version if both are mixed on the same ballroom floor. The lifts are taken from illustrations of the 19th century Paris Opera Balls. In the 1840s, Henri Cellarius, Charles D'Albert and Charles Durang were the three most famous French / English / American dance masters. All three of them choreographed long polka sequences like this, in fact 90% of the figures in Romany Polka are from those three dance masters. Video by Jason Anderson. Thanks to this video, the Romany is now my favorite polka, and these dancers are my favorites among the several Romany videos. Thanks for posting this, and for all you do to promote such elegant ballroom dancing.

Tak, wszyscy to wiedzą. Najwyraźniej nie kliknąłeś linku w powyższym opisie, aby dowiedzieć się, dlaczego tytuł tej choreografii to Romski. Proszę zrób.

My goodness! This is dancing? I thought dancing was pretending to have an epileptic seizure.
