If you are looking to repair a broken surfboard watch the tutorial that I followed for this repair by DingDrx ruclips.net/video/J62quvafwuYA/видео.html
You did good! Mostly good lol. I would definitely recommend that you use epoxy even on a regular board. At least up until it’s time to laminate. It’s much lighter, stronger and more flexible. Plus it’s WAY easier to sand… A bit heavy on the cloth. It’s so far up on the nose that stringer reinforcements can be pretty light. Overall it’s pretty decent. Most of my criticisms would mainly be in regard to alleviating the work load. You did a few things that made the job unnecessarily harder but it came out ready to rock! Thanks for the recognition 🤙🏼
hah, that was a blast from the past, without you Lazarus may not have been ressurected...Yea there was stuff I didnt need to do but I thought i,d rather do stuff I didnt need to than not do stuff I needed to...Lazarus has been through many bodged repairs since and has just sustained another bigish injury but I,m sure he,ll be back again ..)
Thanks man....when it first happened I was gonna turn it into a shorter board but then I saw the tutorial and decided to fix it....If I had known I wouldnt have snapped the nose off completely..)
gnarly......ever since I took a board to the face I try to keep my guard high around my face and head as soon as I wipeout....and Thanks man..the DingDrx knows how to do board repair tutorials the right way..
Haha..I almost turned it into a shorter board and re-shaped the nose but then I seen the Ding doc tutorial and thought i,d give it a try...Any snapped boards throw them my way...)
@@middleagedshred I recently broke my board in half. I want to reproduce the repair, as in your video and DingDrx. Can you tell me what you mixed the epoxy with? (White powder) Is that Aerosyl or smth?
@@Ayaki_TV The stuff i use is called Q-cell sometimes it,s called microballs or microballoons..it,s basically the powder you get when you sand surfboard foam
Haha....I ws gonna turn it into a smaller board but found a way to repair it....The link to the tutorial I used is pinned and in the description....Ive been using this board for months and it seems to be holding up..If you ever break I board I would reccomend this method but follow DingDrx tutorial....tell him I sent ya...)..Thanks for checking the vid.
