When I was youngerdays worked on ship's mobile radio staion n communicated with many world coaststaions by CW n radiotelephone SSB n VHF. That was beautiful memorial days. From 1975~1999 for 24years. All of the world. around the world. Many thanks For all of the world radio operators.
Great friend, the same time i navigate, also i spent Many years calling usa ports, such atlántic as well as pacific. I uses to work with rampa radio WPA, nd mobile but i dont remember the call sign. My qth is Spain in europe, Mallorca. Big hugs.
5AT. Port Etienne, now Nouadhibou. I had to work him a few times in 1970-71 when we called there. Those West African stations could usually only be worked on HF by calling immediately after their traffic list.
That was the name of the audio recording on cassette when I was given it. I put it up as written on the cassette, the owner of the cassette wishes to be anonymous. He is sometimes shy!
Recording was made from a ship radio station, stations close to the ship are strong, those that are quite far away, like Athens Radio / SVA are weak. Normal mix of strong and weak signals.

@@althepal6818 I didn't give the title to the cassette tape, nor do I have the missing 2nd tape but I have been promised I will receive it if it can be found. The cassette is mostly HF WT recordings but there are some MF recordings of 500 kHz.
it would be nice to have some more. I must be crazy, but love to listen to those. Reminds me of the airwaves of then. Now, radiowaves aren't as fun and interesting.

10:25 WCC. Coastal radio station in Chatham, Massachusetts. It’s now a museum + ham club station (WA1WCC) I once had the pleasure of guest operating.
Used to work WCC regularly on the North Atlantic run. 70s.
I remember well the day it all ended and later with GMDSS which was the death nail in the coffin for RO,s
Nice to heard cw as it used to
DAN = Norddeich Radio😁
This make me remember my seaman's life beteween78-84!

Your right, they would only switch their transmitters on at traffic lists time if you were lucky... usually 8mhz
I used to hear DAN on 80 metres in the CW portion. I think it was at Norddeich
Very good ☺️
When cassette number 2 my friend?

From what type of stations was those recordings made? A ship? A shore station? Or simply a home shortwave receiver? Signals are not so strong.

@@djringjr you mean ship radio room not a coastal station m’I right?

Thank you very much. You should tell us a bit more about your work on a ship. Always interesting to hear about that.
Title should’nt be HF... but MF or MW... HF starts at 3 Mhz.
The recording consists of MF (mostly 500 kHz) and HF marine Morse.
Make sense!
