I never understand why people don't either. It's the 1st thing i do when the video starts! Always know it's gonna be a great video if it's coming from the Beastie Room.
Nature is fascinating, It looked like he got her hooked and she started to look like she was in a sort of trance for a moment as she relaxed.. maybe she ate him because she knew he was successful and natural instinct was to eat him for nutrients now to produce a healthy sac! interesting stuff 👍 great content as always fella, really enjoyed this one
Life still has surprises, just when you think you've seen it all, BANG, a spider snuff movie, even the fluffy and cute aren't safe, poor little fella, at least he went out with a grin on his face and a gleam in his eyes after reaching paradise for a split second
very interesting PROFF with these spiders with the vibration on the legs. hopefully he was successful in his endeavours. time will tell. some great footage CAMERA LADY. take care guys and many thanks
He was way too far underneath her to even attempt to rescue him. A little unfair that the Female is so much larger, when it's the male that has to hold her up and reach so far underneath her. A bit of a design flaw if you ask me. I think we should talk to someone about that! Ha. Well...
I’ve tried to look it up before, but I never get any definitive answers. What makes the female spider so much larger than the male? Its quite the opposite with humans. Is it because most spiders are non-communal, and so the females have the tendency to deny males that they find too intimidating? Maybe its because a male that is too large will simply eat the female and prevent himself from reproducing?
I believe the "design" to be perfect, although it seems unfair to some. By this way the genus is kept rather tight I think because one male is not mating too many females. maybe I'm wrong but this is what I make of this behaviour which is instinctive I think.
Dave it looked like at 15:14 that he made insertion and then at that exact moment she pounced on him. I've ran it frame by frame several times, and I believe he made it. R.I.P. little guy.... Thank you for the video Dave, enjoyed watching.
Nice video and nature seems cruel sometimes and I felt sad for the little guy! Thank you dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady. I really hope this pairing will result in a good eggsack, have a nice week! 👋❤🕷👍
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I hope this finds you well. Thank you for the wonderful pairing video. It is sad when the male become lunch but I am sure he was aware of the possibility. Fingers crossed for a big healthy egg sac!🤞🏻🤞🏻Now we need a big fuzzy pairing!😁 I am so demanding, haha. Anyway, I hope y’all have a great week. Take care and stay safe.🧡❤️💛🤠🫶🏻😊
Beautiful video Dave. Like Viking warriors regarding battle I like to think short lived male tarantulas would choose no other death beyond that after insemination.
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing! Presumably spiders are largely instinctually programmed, and reactionary, than thinking, but always makes me chuckle when you say: “….I wonder what they’re saying to one another?”😂👍
Dave, I like what you said about them being polite, and taking turns to communicate. You're right! They don't really interrupt one another! You have such a keen insight into their behavior. I'd never have thought of that lol
So sad that you lost the male. =( But that's a part of life for them. Hopefully you got a good pairing and can get some replacements for the poor little guy. Pretty tarantulas.
Aww! Poor Guy😢but it seems He knew His danger, He was quite nervous. Let's hope He was able to complete His mission🤞nonetheless they're very pretty little things.
Is it just me, or was she backing up into her home constantly and was she trying to get over him on the more than the odd occasion? It looked as though she were always going to get him. I don't keep arachnids, I only watch this channel for arachnid keeping, so I have no idea, just an outsiders opinion. Keep caring and making it safe, God bless, hooroo from Down Under.
EVEN THOUGH THE MALE WAS KILLED. IT IS ALL PART OF THE WAY SPIDERS LIVE AND DIE. IT IS PART OF THEIR NATURE. THEY ARE QUITE AMAZING INSPITE OF THE OUT COME. THANK YOU DAVE FOR SHARING THESE WONDERFUL CREATURES WITH US. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE TIME YOU TAKE ANDTHE WORK YOU DO, CAMERA LADY TOO!!!
I think the entire time she was saying "I'm gonna eat you as soon as we're done"! But he was too horny so kept going after her. That's why he was shaky and kept leaving. Love the video thank you guys💙💙💙💙
Not that it bothers me, it's the way the Tarantula world works after all, but props to you for alerting people when she was about to turn into a black widow! Perhaps next time give people a time to skip to, once the bad part is over. Fantastic video once again. 🤞🤞🤞 for a healthy sac.
Do the females do that as an instinctual “get him before he gets me” kind of thing? So good to wake up to you n Ms Camera Lady, you start my day off on with a smile, thanks.
They are beautiful little things. I was impressed by how being calm was so important in this video: letting the male hang onto the edge of the enclosure, knowing his behavior meant he wasn't going anywhere; realizing nothing should/could be done once she nailed him. Experience and patience mean SO much in this hobby. (Am I correct in thinking the survival advantage in her eating him has to do with the the nutrition required to produce offspring?)
Its a thought thats been around along time but theres no evidence to show it benefits a healthy sac in captivity becouse we provide ample food for our spiders but in the wild it may make a difference 👍
Same thing happened when I paired my Nhandu chromatus. It happened quick as lightning and nothing we could have done about it. Hopefully the little villosella got the deed done and it wasn't in vain.
I am sorry you lost your male, but it was very quick, don't see any way you could have stopped her , thanks that was very interesting ! fingers crossed she will give you babies !
Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️Hope you’re both doing well, and that you had a great weekend. I love a good pairing video! These wee dwarf baboons are beautiful, the colours are perfect, especially the carapace. They have quite large spinnerets, great for webbing up the place. The wee male was the cutest little guy, wasn’t he? Just sorry he didn’t make it out safely, BUT, you didn’t have a chance to save him. It was over in a blink of an eye. Plus, the female was giving no indication she would have her fun and eat it too… here’s hoping that the pairing was a successful one 🤞🤞 Thank you both very much for sharing… and great job Camera Lady. Take care both, have a fantastic week. 💙💕🕷️🥰😘xxxx
She certainly changed her mind in an instant! They are pretty little things, down to the golden fringe around the carapace. Fingers crossed, Dave and Camera Lady, that all was successful. In a clutch, what percentage are actually male?? Probably depends on a thousand different things, knowing nature! Have a grand day and thanks for the video! This arachnophobe is always anxious for the next. 🎃🕸🕷🕸🎃
Brilliant video Dave as always, and super footage aswell Dave, it looked like a very good pairing, pity about the male Dave however it is natural in the world 🌎 of spiders 🕷, anyway Dave another fantastic job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
Just picked up what is likely a juvenile female gabonensis yesterday - no plans on doing any breeding in the near future but still interesting to see how they go about it. Maybe in a few years I'll feel ready.
The most unexpected end to a pairing I’ve had was when I paired my O sp Uthai Thani; he basically wrapped his front four legs around the female, got the insert and suplexed her off the cork bark they were on 😂 she looked a little stunned and shocked with the outcome!
I would assume that a 97% male survival rate is quite good, Dave! It's too bad, the little guy didn't make it. I was just thinking that it had been quite a long time since the last male had been "chomped" on the channel. I wonder if the females know from the outset if they're more interested in a meal, than pairing, or if it's something that happens during pairing, that the female is unhappy with? Once she's decided on making him a meal, I wonder if she purposefully waits until he's exhausted and has to rest, when she decides to pounce?
Great video as always. Sorry to hear she chomped him. I have a couple of dumb questions, wouldn’t it help save the male,if she was fed before mating? Then she wouldn’t be so interested in eating him afterwards? And why do they eat the males? Excitement of the whole act? I’m just curious and don’t know a lot about tarantulas. Love this channel though!!!
Dave no doubt will answer but I'm in a chatty mood this morning. If you watch Dave's little beastie channel on a regular basis - you will know Dave has his spiders/tarantulas, in tip top condition before mating and that also means, well feed 👍
He seemed a bit like lacking confidence from the very beginning, maybe even spiders can feel that and the female could have thought that if she can't have a propper party, at least to have a propper meal 😂🤦🤣 sorry for the loss guys! Hopefully he left behind some gazillions of coming slings. 🙏
Very interesting video beautiful little spiders. A very fast female leading to a very sad conclusion. I will look forward to follow ups to see if the male managed to achieve insemination. Yet again an incredible video to watch.
A fantastic video as always Yes, nature is sad & yes, cruel at times, however, it is what it is....... I know you do your best to save the males, but there really was absolutely no chance with this one - that was a super fast take down I hope his efforts & life sacrifice wasn't in vain & he got to enjoy a 'nookie' & a successful insemination before his ending
Agh bless him, I think you will get an egg sac be looked as though he did the deed, he was so far under her it was risky business! The only time I got upset was perhaps the wolf spider???? He went into her enclosure he literally jumped on her and killed her, I had never seen anything, like that before! I do know that you do everything you can to rescue the males! Although this video was sad I always get excited for the egg sac. Do spiders have the same gestation? Or do different species have different gestations?
Yes, I also remember that incident, where the male killed the female! A person wrote in the comments section:" Maybe he just WAS an arcachno-cidal maniac!"😂😂😂🎉
Interesting video shame the male didnt make it but fingers crossed all goes well with getting a sac these are one of my fave dwarf species really easy going species
Hey Dave, the way her behaviour changed in an instant, usually means a succesfull pairing, question is did he get the job done like you said, but that behaviour change is usually a good sign.
hi Mr David, i am trying to look for the size of a Heterothele villosella chestnut babies, i watch your videos, but could not find about the sac or babies, like how many are born, is it true they are as small as jumping spider babies?
Poor little guy. He died fulfilling his purpose. Thank you Dave and Camera Lady for showing us the real life of spider keeping.
❤️❤️❤️
I always hit the like button , I don't understand why people watch your video, enjoy it and not give you a thumbs up!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
You're the best!❤️❤️❤️
I never understand why people don't either. It's the 1st thing i do when the video starts! Always know it's gonna be a great video if it's coming from the Beastie Room.
Yes love the pairing videos. Very fascinating, poor little guy hopefully he did his job and you get babies. Can’t wait for update next month some time
Wow; she was seriously fast! The poor guy didn't stand a chance. Thanks for sharing!
I know, right?
'He died doing what he loved'.
Hope it was a successful pairing.
Hopefully he will have mini-mes and he will live on. Thanks for the video Dave.
Cue "Meatloaf" "I would do anything for love..."
But I won’t be a snack… but I wont be… 💀
My H villosella was my 4th spider and she's my absolute favorite. I'm up to 20 now and all things considered she's still at the top of my list!!!
Just like to be present here every video you make sir Dave 👍👍👍
Another awesome informative video from the spider whisper. Thank you for all you do. Lots of respect from Cincinnati Ohio USA
Agreed! Hello from Michigan!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Morning Dave! Just get up😂 stunning video, Brave Male ,i hope will be lots of kids around
People want to know the truth but sometimes cannot handle the truth.😉 Keeping things true as always and that's why i like this channel so much.
I appreciate that
Bully shake 😂 I love that term. As an American, i adore your accent and and figures of speech. RIP to a real soldier
What a sad end to the poor little guy . Terrific video Dave .
Yes but don't forget he passed doing his favourite activity imo and hopefully he lives on through his babies. I'm sure she'll drop an egg sac 😊
Oh dear...poor little guy. Great video Dave! And your woman of course!
Life still has surprises, just when you think you've seen it all, BANG, a spider snuff movie, even the fluffy and cute aren't safe, poor little fella, at least he went out with a grin on his face and a gleam in his eyes after reaching paradise for a split second

@GrubHuncher Those are good thoughts, and make a lot of sense!

@tagesvaterpatrick8780 Good point. But in some cases it has lead to a shortage of males.
Dave and Mrs Camera Lady! 😁👋🏼☺️

I’m glad you show us all sides of the tarantula keeping. Great video!
Hello great video sorry for your loss Dave
Omg Dave, all males runaway from the females…except my man who has been around for 16 years 😂❤
Nice video and nature seems cruel sometimes and I felt sad for the little guy! Thank you dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady. I really hope this pairing will result in a good eggsack, have a nice week! 👋❤🕷👍

Love to watch your pairings. Thanks, Dave, for the warning. Great work Canera Lady.
Beautiful video Dave. Like Viking warriors regarding battle I like to think short lived male tarantulas would choose no other death beyond that after insemination.
Thank you for the warning. It's very considerate to think of the some of more sensitive viewers and give the option to skip that part
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing! Presumably spiders are largely instinctually programmed, and reactionary, than thinking, but always makes me chuckle when you say: “….I wonder what they’re saying to one another?”😂👍

Rest in peace little buddy. I hope he manages to be a dad in the end.
It was so cool seeing you at the invert show yesterday! My son loved meeting you :) we watch your videos every day. He was so star struck 😊.
You rock!❤️
Yeh baby my favorite, a pairing video. Apart from the end of course. Thanks for sharing guys 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Lol poor male lol i feel he felt suspicious from the first run he did hahahaa he knew something was afoot..🤣👏
Aww! Poor Guy😢but it seems He knew His danger, He was quite nervous. Let's hope He was able to complete His mission🤞nonetheless they're very pretty little things.
algorythm appreciation comment
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Morning Dave & Camera lady wot an amazing pairing vidoe its a shame the male did not survive
Another interesting and informative video. ❤ Thanks Dave and Camera Lady. 🎥🕸️🕷️
So nice of you❤️👍
You said in the beginning of the video that they were erratic - and she proved you right!

Your very welcome ❤️👍
Great video guys thank you so much xxxx
Natures cruel 😢 interesting though thanks for leaving it on. ❤
Sad end, but great video as always.
Thank you for the trigger warning x
Just hope the lil fella was successful Dave great camera work Camera Lady .
I think the entire time she was saying "I'm gonna eat you as soon as we're done"! But he was too horny so kept going after her. That's why he was shaky and kept leaving. Love the video thank you guys💙💙💙💙

Aww Dave she was on him poor fella hadn't a chance
The legs get moving so fast that it looks like a piano string vibrating.
I like the new beastie room
They are beautiful little things. Dave just wondering, where are you going to put your neon beastie sign?? Perhaps above the blind? Let us know 😊
I miss sign, so much too 😢
I dont have any room at the moment 😭
I have been wanting one of these little beauties for a very long time, hopefully I'll get one soon enough.❤❤
Love your videos! Hopefully the little guy managed with his job and you get a nice egg sac!
Same thing happened when I paired my Nhandu chromatus. It happened quick as lightning and nothing we could have done about it.

Well hopefully he did the job and she'll be nice and full for her eggs. Nature's a cruel mistress sometimes but that's the way it goes.
Feisty little Spooder!!!! 🕷🕷❤❤🕷🕷
Also...proper lights now! Good to see that things are going in the right direction.
I am sorry you lost your male, but it was very quick, don't see any way you could have stopped her , thanks that was very interesting ! fingers crossed she will give you babies !
She's a beauty and frisky 😊
Pretty little guys.

You know what dave, first time ive seen that happen, 🖤💯 as when I had mine i never tried to pair any of my females 🖤
Does she actually eat him? Do you need to remove the the remains fro ner enclosure
Hi dave and hi camera lady how are you guys doing today
Great footage Dave, poor male 😢
Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat...
Happy Halloween!
Happy holidays!
Very interesting video beautiful little spiders. A very fast female leading to a very sad conclusion. I will look forward to follow ups to see if the male managed to achieve insemination.

Aww so sad, im sorry Dave, he was cute. Please can you tell me, why does that happen, female eating the male?
We dont really know ?
Back on track. too bad for the lad, but hey, it happens.
Yes a pairing in new room and 1st lol
Agh bless him, I think you will get an egg sac be looked as though he did the deed, he was so far under her it was risky business! The only time I got upset was perhaps the wolf spider???? He went into her enclosure he literally jumped on her and killed her, I had never seen anything, like that before! I do know that you do everything you can to rescue the males!

They all vary 👍
Interesting video shame the male didnt make it but fingers crossed all goes well with getting a sac these are one of my fave dwarf species really easy going species
Omg I can't believe I'm up for this 6am 😂😂😂😂 Got covid-19 🥵🥶 which is why I'm up at such a ridiculous time As always great work camera lady 👍
Hope you feel better soon😊
Get better soon my friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Why do they go so quickly but a cockroach doesn’t ? Does the venom effect them differently
It would appear so 👍
Do you think it helps get things moving if you simulate tapping?
I had a male now passed but lovely to care for
It looks like he was aware of the entailed risk. The danger of women😅
Hey Dave, the way her behaviour changed in an instant, usually means a succesfull pairing, question is did he get the job done like you said, but that behaviour change is usually a good sign.
He maybe had doubts and was a bit hesitant and she would have preferred a more macho type 😌
LOL!
Does it help to feed the female extras beforehand so she's not as hungry, or doesn't that matter at all for her wish to devour the male?
They are always well fed before hand 👍
You should make a instagram so I can repost your vidz
Sad life of a male tarantula.!🙏🙏R.I.P. handsome little man.🙏👊🏼nothing ventured...nothing gained.!!.Brendan.!
Well, I am pretty sure, he accomplished his mission. 😊
hi Mr David, i am trying to look for the size of a Heterothele villosella chestnut babies, i watch your videos, but could not find about the sac or babies, like how many are born, is it true they are as small as jumping spider babies?
They are quit small around 0.5 cm but grow quickly should get around 50-100 slings
