Coming from a experienced bin store owner. Store name is Bin Mania have 2 stores and working on expanding one and looking for a third. I agree with all the advice here. Besides one. Having shelf items. I personally have shelfs in both my stores. We buy multiple trucks in order to do this. A couple mistakes I have noticed that many owners make when trying to do both in one store are as followed. Many don't label the items correctly. You need a designated price tag that is clear and the same for every item in the store. You also need proper signage. Make sure you have a return policy on shelf items. No one is paying 50% of retail with out a guarantee. You also need to stay consistent from day one. Also make sure you have lower dollar items on the shelf. This helps let the customer see that no the shelfs are not just all the good stuff from the Bins. They see all price points and all types of inventory. Also keep the inventory separate from retailers. For example if you focus on Amazon smalls for the bins go Target for the shelfs. This also shows the customers that you are buying separate trucks and are not just picking the Bins. Also you need to make sure your customers are finding the great items in the Bins and make it known. For example Facebook live are great. I do one every Thursday night and highlight great finds from both stores. Also get pics of the customers who find those items. Post those pics it allow everyone to see that your customers are getting those awesome finds. Other than that great advice and keep up the good work! Ps yes Colton is a great guy!
I've gone to both of your bin stores several times weekly since you opened and I use to find really profitable items in your bin stores for resell. They're definitely more consumer based these days.
I like your channel and you have great advice--those gals working behind you--you need to give them some shopping carts to work with. They'll be able to load those up quicker, not work as hard, won't have to carry things over to where they're stacking and will clear out the box faster! Help those gals with a cart!
I am glad you said out loud that many of the customers a bin store will get are resellers. I resell on both eBay and Amazon and have a couple bin stores in Colorado that I used to shop at for my retail arbitrage part of my business. Key words are "used to". The owners/employees seem to get a bit annoyed and started to become very rude to my daughter and I when we would scan the items and purchase a cart load or so on $1 day. When it happened a second time we knew it wasn't just them having an off day and have not been back since. I wanted to know in your experience what may be the reasoning behind bin store owners/employees being offended by resellers buying up their inventory?
i have a bin store and the resellers are my favorite customers, they buy much more stuff than the average person. idk why anyone would have a problem with that
@@codymoore8709 A lot of people seem to hate it when they're making money doing something they could easily be doing themselves. Is similar to when buy stuff from you to mail to someone else (use you for drop shipping I guess). Some people get really peeved about it. Whereas, I just see it as I made what I wanted to make off of the item. Maybe I could have sold it for more. But am still happy with the sale.

I was kicked off eBay for life May 2021 for no reason. And I tried to open a Facebook marketplace account two weeks ago. The next morning I'm banned. What is going on?
Tom buys truckloads and separates some for ReSale America (our liquidation store) and some go to Deal Daze (our bin store). But we don't open the Amazon "Mystery Pallets" that we sell to others.

I'm all for doing a franchise also....I really need to talk to you.
If the pay is right, I'd be into get a a job running e-bay.
Good stuff
why do you compare flea market with bin store ? bin store does not sell used thing, flea market does
they both can sell new and used items, there are no rules!!
So you do cherry pick the items. That sucks.
