So in summation, Rafa's career has been - emotional.
And unbelievable, no.
and important, no.
lol
You counld not have said it better, lol! i was thinking the same thing.
I've followed Rafa for years and coincidentally I have studied a few years of Spanish so I wonder if theres ever anyone else that actually understands when Rfa says emotional he actually means the match was "exciting", like roller coaster exciting. Emocionante in Spanish means exciting, and Rafa probably thinks emotional in english refers to exciting. Could be wrong but Iam 90% sure he's meant to say exciting in like 95% of his interviews lol.
rafa career in one word- “unbelibable”
You mean unbelievable
@@lynnepashley4281 no he spelled it like that because that is how rafa says it
Nadal's 17 - 25 look was like,
WARRIOR PRINCE.
Now he looks like,
EXPERIENCED KING.
Congratulations Rafa on one thousand match wins! Vamos!
Federer wins over 100 titles😤😤😠
@@oruggier129 what's the need to get so defensive buddy? He only stated what was a fantastic achievement earned yesterday.
@@nielssorensen9856 maybe u dont know the “joke” cause nadal probably is ur life
@@oruggier129 those are some strange emojis to use for a joke. Perhaps I'm not very receptive, or you need to work on your dialogue delivery.
Either way, good day!
@@nielssorensen9856 yeah that in no way seemed to be a joke for me
as well
I mean, what can one say about Nadal. Genius. Star. We are still waiting for another tennis prodigy to be born.. hopefully in our lifetime.
I think Carlos alcaraz will be the next Murray!
I don't think he'll be anywhere near the big three. But I definitely can see him getting world number one, a career grand slam, and be one of the best to every hit the sport.
Nadal played some of his best tennis in Rome: his finals against Coria (05), Federer (06), Zverev (18), Djokovic (19), Djokovic (21) are absolutely incredible 🔥 such bangers 🔥
His first win, then a Rome against a Coria, Rome against Fed, ATP semis against Andy, Indian Wells against DelPo, and Rome against Novak.
His journey is so unbelievable, triumphs, injuries and challenges but NEVER given up. Each points matters. He played 101 %. His attitude so so amazing. I'm sure the journey to success still on 🤞
2008 Chennai Open semifinal with Moya? That was insane!
yeah... the other day i heard Rafa mention Chennai in a bbc quiz on his own statistics... never knew he played in Chennai
Rafael ' unbelievable' nadal
To sum it up "Rafa is an eternal fighter"
@3:55, when Masters tournaments where best of five. I remember that match to this day.
@A 1000 i actually find that better
What a player
Amaizing Rafael the best player keep going you are
Unpilevimple tennis player vamos Nadal.
Love every part of your personality and game. Hope you get close to 1500 wins, some more memorable performances too, by the time you hang your racquet, Rafa! Vamos
Very well done, Rafa! You are a great champion! 👏
A true legend of the sport! Vamos Rafa!
The great man
Love you Rafa!
Rafa is unbeliblabel no he is for me the GOAT no or at least will always be in my heart no
Well said he's such a hard working player and has clearly paid off! We post tennis videos and would appreciate your support on our videos and channel as well 🎾❤️🙏👍
But he took illegal drugs, he took illegal substances as steroids in his career and it has been proven!
A GOAT who is a mediocre player outside of clay
@@farhatk6054 7 grand slams won outside of clay and has won over 20 plus titles on hard courts. He is not mediocre at all and definitely in the GOAT debate.
@@bobo0886 wtf r u saying? hahaha that's not true. That was something that Frenchmen were saying when he won his first RG, as they were jealous that a young strong Spanish kid was winning one RG after another.
VAMOS BEAUTIFUL RAFA!!!!!! I REMEMBER THESE FIRST MATCHES WELL!!!!!!! WE LOVED EVERY MOVE YOU MADE ALREADY THEN.....RIGHT FROM THE FIRST TIME WE SAW YOUR PASSIONATE GENIUS STYLE!!!!! VAMOS SWEETHEART AND KEEP GOING.....KEEP SMILING.....AND KEEP ENJOYING EVERYTHING!!!!!! :) WE LOVE YOU!!!! XOXOXO
3:51 oh no another one of those moments. Roger Federer up 40-15 in the fifth set......
At least it was on break point
@@darrenlang1111 That's not an excuse.
And again Roger goes defensive there which doesn’t work for him and still he doesn’t learn it all these years.
@@ManuelPersona24 it wasn’t an excuse, I’m simply stating that it’s much easier to hold serve while down 40-15 than it is to break while down 40-15
@@darrenlang1111 True, but still missed opportunities.
2013 Montreal SF against Novak was a great one as well.
Congratulations Rafa 💜💜💜
he swept up the full clay court season on his first time playing it and went to his first roland garros already as a favourite to win the whole thing without having ever played it before at the age of 18. young rafa was insane.
Raf about the first match:
"Yeah unbeliable, very emotional"
Second match:"yeah unforgettable, very emotional amazing crowd"
3rd"Amazing crowd, great match, unbeliable"
20th match:"yeah, great match, very emotional, most important tournament in my career"
you missed the "super emotional"... but as
@ anS0N1997 points out above... he uses the spanish word for "exciting" in english and it becomes "emotional"... thanks to his convenient vocabulary sharing across spanish and english... such phenomenon he is all round...amazing Rafa...
Nadal - Keep On Winning! You show us how to be a respectful winner and runner-up.
Nadal Coria is the best ATP final match in history you can't change my mind.
For videos like this, they should let the person speak in their native tongue so they can express themselves better.
Unbeliebable 😅
Vamooos rafa
amazing how he early in his career has the advantage over Roger, even at young age..
This was a really insightful video, I would love to see the same type of video with Roger and Novak as well
@ATP Tour : are you drunk ? where is Madrid 2009 semi final against Djokovic ??? Personally I can't forget the TieBreak of the 3rd set, especially that forehand winner which saved the match point for Rafa at 5-6...
You would have include it in that list I guess :)
Anyway, thank you for this video and for the interview with Rafa !
This was from Nadal's perspective, not the ATP Tour's.
@@purplecoffinman8510 no it was from the Atp's prospective not Nadal
@@hirendrall7215 did they not ask Rafa about his best atp games?
@@purplecoffinman8510 they asked rafa to make comments on his best matches (The decision which were the best being made by the ATP)
Felicidades Rafa por reclamar tu victoria número 1000 ... VAMOS, RAFA!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
My idol💝
Félicitations pour la victoire ✌ ( BEAU Match Tennis )
I think Rafa missed 2008 Chennai Open semifinal in which all the three sets went to teibreaker and finally Rafa won by 6-7,7-6,7-6 against Carlos Moya.
Yes I don't know how he forgot that, it was epic. We were lucky to have it in Chennai.
Proceeds to lose the final 60 61 lol
I would also add Madrid 2009 against Djokovic to this list
Yeah for sure
For sure ×2
DEFO!
Australian open?
@@Kindmanwithhopes ATP IS NOT GRAND SLAMS. GRAND SLAMS IS ITF. THEY DON'T HAVE RIGHTS TO GRAND SLAMS SO THEY CAN'T SHOW THEM UNFORTUNATELY :(
SHEER BRILLIANCE AND BEAUTY GOAT NADAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : ) SO PRECIOUS TO VIEW THE EARLIER VICTORIES AND HS COURT MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : ) NATURALLY GIFTED AND BLESSED IN ALL WAYS......KEEP GOING DEAR RAFA WE LOVE YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : ) XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
This man is simply....Unbebible
Well done.
Nadal: Unbelievable, no???
best rafa
0:39 I forgot that Rome used to be best of 3 sets.
Maybe only in finals
nonchalantd You mean best of 5 lol and yes it was only the finals
Nadal vs Djokovic Madrid SF 2009 is definitely missing in this list
someone tell rafa to use “it was” instead of “have been” 😂
nah...his eng is perfect like this no ? :D
You can also say "it has been a great season" same as "it was a great season", nothing wrong 🤭
@@tennisradu Of course, but still. He always says “have been” without any subject
@@sicoles wow, what a terrible mistake... 😂
anything Rafa says is fine... I am a big fan of the way he speaks so unpretentiously...in english right from when he was a little boy in 2005..... i could never have been like that...we would as younger people assume that speaking perfect english was a measure of sophistication and intelligence but realised...no...never...the english speaking world would always label us as "second language speakers"... Rafa is just himself...and not a wannabe like many other non-native english language speaking tennis/cricket stars...there are many like that where i live... and most sound fake... so a speech-style like rafa's is like a breath of fresh air...tho now even that has changed a bit...
I love how "losing" three clay tournaments in a row is a cause for such concern for Rafa lol - he's right though - if he plays decent he wins
The best ATP match was between Djokovic and Nadal Madrid final .... 7-6 , 4-6,7-6 win for Nadal
With Christ, champion. Greetings from Poland.
Murray Nadal was Crazy Good 😎😎
Madrid 2009-11 monte carlo 2016, Rogers/Cinncinati 2013, his first Indian Wells tournament win. I dont think 2019 Rome was that important.
Yeah but he bageled novak so he had to let the world know ;)
@@myles137. true but nobak won the second set, kinda takes the bagel while awesome out of contention for me.
@@myles137. also clay, so it is to be expected
I think it was an important win for Rafa because he needed some confidence & momentum going into RG. He mentioned the fact that he had lost 3 clay tourneys in a row, which was highly unusual for him. Beating Nole in the final, who’s had Rafa’s number lately, gave him a huge boost going into the 2019 French Open. We all know how that turned out. 💪🏽🔥🏆🇪🇸👏🏾
Rafa @ 3:45 around and the girl at 3:47...around ... most beautiful video moments... and Fedex after that looking less than confident.. what an expression on this face...at championship point which Rafa snatched away from him...!!!! epitomize what this once-kid-now-man represents for the world of tennis and the world of tennis fans... one man v/s the whole world - wonder where that girl would be now....:-) still cheering for him i guess... also so nice to see Fedex patting him affectionately after losing to Rafa...
His first win against Fed at Wimbledon is best for me..
Not an ATP match.
2018 US OPEN Quarterfinal against Dominic Thiem is missing! Best match ever
Here are only ATP matches, no Grand Slam matches.

Were these Rafa's picks, or the ATP's? No Roger's Cup, where he's won there more times than IW and Cincy combined? And many others that were worth mentioning.
what about stuttgart 2015 against bernard Tomic
What is the kid eating ...at 0:45 onward... some tube food like space travelers...gosh...looks vague...
Protein bar mayb

Not sure why he didn't include 2009 Madrid semi vs djokovic

What about wimbledon 2008? Final with federer?
It's about atp matches not grandslams
2012 Australian Open not in the list?!
Grand Slams are not ATP
when did masters tournaments become not best of 5 sets? I've always known it to be best of 3
모르셔스인도도인
No wimbledon 2008 federer/nadal????
샴쌍동이와새끼박쥐888888818889수
2008 Wimbledon final, 2012 Australian Open final.....c'mon
This says _ATP_ matches, the four Grand Slams are not ATP events, they’re ITF events. of course everyone knows 2008 Wimbledon final, 2009 AO SF, 2009 and 2012 AO Finals were better than any of the matches here.
6 5 40 15 Roger Federer👀
man literally too angry to lose on clay talks about his best matches
And yet the best match he said he ever played was the AO 2012 final, which he lost. Of course these are all wins.
I remember being stunned when Rafa won the final in Rome against Fed..the competitive tenacity of Rafa is something else..
Great to watch video. Baby Spaniard...his game and his innocent face... mind blowing...can't believe he is an ageing 34 now.... :-( Roger and Rafa look so good in that pic @ 3:18... the passing of time is so cruel... Rafa's end-of-match somersaults omg!!! and pulling-hair have definitely taken a big toll on his overall health... super emotional for his fans... i am moved to tears... at this sea-change in a sportsman...
