Amazing how legit this ride is. While I never got around to this with ours, it is a whole new aspect of the vehicle's capabilities that simply adds to its other stout credentials. Looks like you had a riot!
I actually took my 2018 Macan S up a service road in the Northern Rocky Mountains to help my buddy who broke down way up there, and it handled every drainage hump with absolute ease and some extremely steep inclines with no slipping at all. I can't believe how off road capable they actually are, all the jacked up trucks and jeeps were astounded I took it up that service road.
This is so reassuring to watch , confirming that the Macan can cope with off-road terrain, as well as being a sports car ! Less than 2 weeks before I collect my new Macan S (from Tonbridge Porsche Centre in Kent) - it'll be my first ever Porsche, so an exciting move for me: and in four days' time, I'm having a morning session at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone - can't wait !
Good for you. You're going to love it. Watch the speeding, though. In the US, cops don't give warnings to guys in Porsches. Probably the same in the UK. Cheers.
great video thanks! I wish I could find more aggressive offroad tread for smaller rims. As I am in Colorado, a meaty tread and substantial sidewall would be handy. Good to know the AWD system is up to the task at a minimum
Andy Kuhn I’m looking for a newer crossover and I think the Macan is the best compromise for me. I Autocross and will go camping in the local mountains so I’ve been looking at different A/T tires for the Macan and I think BFG KO2 in size 255/55-18 will fit. I currently use it on my X5 and have been happy with it for all terrain conditions but because of it’s tough durable rubber, it’s a little slippery on a wet road. I you want good A/T tires for the wet roads check out the Continental Terraincontact A/T. But make sure when you order the 18” rim to get the right offset so that it’ll eliminate some fender gap.
Hey Janko and Roger! I took my 2022 Macan GTS outfitted with 21 wheels and all season tires off road in Moab, UT. (I live in NYC). I had the time of my life. The car got covered in red mud and it handled absolutely fantastically!
Excellent video and what an amazing vehicle. Awesome to see that it can cope so easily in rough terrain as well as being a top performer on the roads. Fantastic 😉👌🏻
I am planning on buying one Roger and deciding whether it's a good idea to travel to Chester Porsche to buy from there. Your video has made me choose a Macan rather than a BMW, great work keep it up.
So how many times did you scrape the bottom of the undercarriage in this off-roading experience? I'm guessing numerous times, just from the video alone!
Rodger I have to hand it to you YOU THE MAN ! Over the years I’ve spent close to 1/2 a million at Porsche And they still won’t just say here’s the keys off you go.
Roger Bailey Yeh you would think, my Turbo S set me back 231k out the door alone. And yet they still just don’t hand me a set of keys. But they do give me VIP perks.
“Top secret off-road proving ground” 😂😂 (Actually, for the benefit of viewers that aren’t local to Roger, this is not off-road, it’s normal Cheshire roads)
Great video and production RB. Porsche certainly know how to build GREAT sports cars and now, very capable off roaders that also perform like very good sports cars too. Maybe the Macan is the ONE car for all needs? Your No1 Stalker... :-))...
I bought one of these a few years back. The salesman told me not to think of it as a small Cayenne but a raised-up, off-road capable 911. Made me laugh but I still made the purchase. Aside from mechanical issues, all known by the company and fixed under warranty, it is a fantastic blend of practicality and performance.
Yes it can do all this offroad activities ... But do Owners out there really want to risk scratches and ding on their Macan? Replacement parts on a Porsche not cheap at all...
As an antipodean, accustomed to driving 500 kilometers of corrugated, gravel, unformed roads with no bitumen in sight on a regular basis, I thought your video was verging on amusing. Oh dear, dear, the vehicle waded through 6 inches of water! Puddles and tiny hills, easily traversed in a Mini Moke, do NOT deem it "off road". Sorry. Otherwise, your film was marvelous, simply marvelous. Yes, and I am being sarcastic. Guilty!
@Joseph Pae Use your brain. My friend would like I am crazy if I take my Cayenne offroad. This macan is not even as comfortable and too unstable for inter city driving. It is for small women only and dont even dream about doing any REAL offroading in this (maybe just struggling around dirty tracks).
BMW X3 m40i way better 0-60 in 4.6 better handling and better sporty look and cheaper and more options that COME with the car like LED headlights where Porsche u have to pay BMW all the way
this 3.0 engine is from audi - not fit for a porsche and is really boring. The 2.9 is much better, or previous gen twin turbo 3.0 porsche made engine is amazing too.
@Ethan Pae Sorry Ethan but imo the middle rear light extender just makes it look cheap and Kia-ish, I think lazy Porsch want more customers to upgrade without seriously thinking about a conservative facelift

the guy in the porche center just hands you keys no question, great guy
Hi Roger, thanks for another great video. More Porsche SUV owners need to experience the off-road capabilities of there cars, they would be amazed.
Thanks for visiting Janko, love finding your comments here, your Macan in the snow video demonstrated this point really well.

Another great example of why this fantastic car has had so much success. Your Adventure off road looked like a lot of fun. Really good video.
cheers daz it was a fun day - best wishes - roger
Amazed front lip stay on
Roger, another well done vid! Ohh man, that would be there version of Porsche that I need. Sounds like a smooth ride!
Brother Dunne thanks for looking in again, appreciated 👍
great vid Rodger the water splashes looked brilliant
thanks Dom
👍👍👍 from Germany !!
it will be my next car this year.

Great Video Roger. I took the new cayenne around the same course and was similarly impressed.
Thanks Duncan, glad to here you were impressed
Nice work Mr Bailey they must love you at that Porsche Centre
Thanks Shaun -
Good to see you didn't try to cross the lake! Wishing you well from the States!
Lerxstification ha! Yes indeed - best wishes Roger
Excellent review Roger, along with your renowned quality video footage. Looks like Porsche has another winning combination.

Thanks Geof, yes the Macan S is quite a combination
Very good Roger

Fraser Macleod i'm glad to hear you liked it, thanks for the comment
such an all around vehicle
Another cracking film Roger.
Not really in the market for a 4 X 4 but always enjoy your content and dry humour.
Cheers
thanks Simon,
Nice video, impressive performance from the car as well.
this is really entertaining Roger I liked the water splashes and were you gave away the top secret location. It's a lovely car
Gina great to see you here again and thank you for your comment

good choice, Chester are decent guys, they've always treated me very well.

Another great video Roger, two quick questions: 1) When is the review of the 992 coming? 2) Are you trading in the GTS for a 992?
Thanks Mark, 992 video will be in a few weeks, GTS is staying with me for a while yet.
Thanks for this unique content. Did the tested Macan have the optional air suspension?
yes - a desirable option
@@RogerBaileyOnCars Thanks for the reply! Did you set it into the high off-road mode for this test, presumably?
As for center console, this Macan does not have air suspension. Only off road button and shocks stiffness setup
excellent video roger
thank you
Rodger I have to hand it to you
YOU THE MAN !
Over the years I’ve spent close to 1/2 a million at Porsche

1/2 a million ! - they owe you !

😂😂

its meant to be secret 😊
Did the water get into the macan while you drove in the lake?
No water got in
Does anyone know the song at the beginning?
Why don't you use better off-road tires? Which ones would you suggest?
I love that car, hope to own one...thanks Roger
yr welcome, hope you end up with one
Great video and production RB. Porsche certainly know how to build GREAT sports cars and now, very capable off roaders that also perform like very good sports cars too. Maybe the Macan is the ONE car for all needs?
Your No1 Stalker... :-))...
Hello No1 & thanks, yes I could live with a Macan S & ditch 911's if I had to.
Was that color Chalk (Crayon)?
Yes crayon (chalk in US)
Hi is it worth going for the sports exhaust on the S model?
well from inside the car you can only just hear it so perhaps not
I'm going to visit that Porsche Centre
tell them I sent you 👍😊
Where abouts is this place i want to take my macan
motor safari North Wales
Shame you didn't try the Porsche offroad precision app :)
I would hand you keys to my car any day Roger, big thumbs up again sir.
Joe thank you so much - oh and I would take them 😁
Surprised they let you do this in a brand new car
That is nice I have. Porsche 928s and a Porsche Cayenne as well next will be my Porsche Macao real nice 👍🏻
LOL thanks Roger :-))
В Москве после дождя лужи бывают глубже их озерца )
Я бы хотел убедиться в этом сам
3:54 - I know you edited out the bit where the front scraped. Nice try!
you may be right tosgem but I honestly cant remember now ! I'd have to check the unedited footage
@@RogerBaileyOnCars Give me a Porshe Macan and I won't tell anybody. It can be our little secret.

Tim Prosser yes I’ve seen the way Aussies drive off road, a world away from Brits tarmac jungle & polished cars, glad to hear your POV 👍
I miss the diesels
Let's be honest, which macan driver is really going to drive it properly off road?
David Viner I took off rude to me and very bad dirt roads with deep potholes and such, and I definitely bought mine needing that capability
@Joseph Pae Use your brain. My friend would like I am crazy if I take my Cayenne offroad. This macan is not even as comfortable and too unstable for inter city driving. @Ethan Pae why you and your twin such brainless fan boys?
where is the offroad?
I did this yesterday in my golf 7
Still love my 2018 GTS check out some my vids offroad and acceleration heh it does good!
This is hardly off-roading. You could have done that in a 99 Camry
BMW X3 m40i way better 0-60 in 4.6 better handling and better sporty look and cheaper and more options that COME with the car like LED headlights where Porsche u have to pay BMW all the way
Same engine as the Audi SQ5 I presume.
Brian Anthony yes with some engine mapping differences
Nice BUT nobody does......
But reassuring to know that, if you have to, you can !
@@piperbob2 not with sportstires.. Despite the 4wheeldrive, it is like running on heels. Not for snow and not for mud

We didn't see much of its skills uphill
Sorry but those facelifted rear extended lights look a mistake.
No - they look great !
@superjoe1 In English please?
@superjoe1 Those cheap extended rear light look like a Kia, lazy lazy Porsche!
