Glad to see this sub floor build. I'm reworking a 1970 Crestliner 160 Admiral with as much flat open floor space possible and yet still have some locked storage for rods, electrical, nav lights, oars, fish net and misc. Thanks for sharing!

New patreon here. This is where I am on my 16.5ft V-hull. I wanted to frame it in aluminum run sides on both sides similar to the height and width of the livewell in this vid. My only concern is how the water can drain if I were to use a pour foam under the floor. I'm considering using a combination of the pool noodles and pour foam in order to assure there is some space for water but I have not seen it addressed in any of the vids yet.

How do you level the floor on a 12 foot Gamefisher where the back bottom is flatter but quickly forms a 6-8 inch "V" with in 8 feet?
What way would you suggest to put in a floor? set the floor higher and further towards the front do a step floor with the front being higher because of how deep the "V" is allowing for a deepr storage on the casting deck?
    Thanks

I've been a sub for a while now and I don't want this comment to come across as rude. I just want to state my mind to hopefully better your channel in the future.
From my point of view, your channel has been all over the place. It makes it hard to take in the info. I've looked into being a patreon member of yours but I simply did not have the confidence in the channel to do so at this point. I do understand that you have to make some means along the way for putting out this content. But that being said, I haven't seen a full start to finish build yet. It shows that the camera is second to the work being done. That, along with the patreon can't coincide if your trying to build the "Tiny Boat Nation". It's either patreon or tiny boat nation IMO. I write this comment in all respect and I really mean that. For instance, do you have a patent on anything you've done? If not, why make people pay to get the real information? It's only my opinion but for what's it worth I want to see your channel expand and grow and I believe these are some key things that will get you there.
    With respect,
    Blake

I've watched many of your videos and always hoped to see how you address a problem you described in this one. You talked about a boat like this one, having struts across the bottom with just a small space for the water to drain under the center of the strut through to the back. As you stated, they easily become clogged with dirt and debris. I have tried several things to open them up more, and I feel that to be essential if I want to put a floor in the boat. Otherwise water will collect there and not be able to escape or evaporate, causing problem in the future. Do you know of any method to enlarge those openings without affecting the integrity of the strut itself? Please let me know.

Hope my post records and stay posted this time. :-) and thank you for your great vids. They made me look at my "bigger than I expected project" with hope and anticipation. Ok, I have a question for you. I am restoring and old Grumman GMF 16th feet Aluminum fishing boat. Everything at the bottom was rotten. Floor, Transom, and all the polyurethane was soaked with water even old gas. I tried to upload a picture but it does not seem to let me. The old foam and rutten wood left the whole bottom really stained and I want to make it clean before I test for leaks and rebuit the monster projet (to me). 1- What can I use to clean all that gunk without damaging the aluminum. 2- To reinstall the new floor, if I need to use screws, what's the best (because everybody seems to say we can only use aluminum on aluminum boat...)? Thank you!

I think that you missed an opportunity here. You could have laid tubing back and forth along the bottom of the hull. This would be in a radiant heating pattern. Cover with a plastic sheet for the next part. Instead of heating the bottom of boat/lake. You would be capturing the cold of the lake. Use the cold to cool your lockers. Then lay the subfloor and pour in foam between the plastic sheet and subfloor, to lock it in place, add flotation and insulate. But other then that, I like what I have been seeing. -BAG2
