I’m from Chicago. In my area Black folks also view spaghetti as a side dish. We also eat it at cookouts on the side of a hot link , burger, and ribs. Right next to the potato salad. It can be the main dish with salad and garlic bread. But we do eat it often with fried fish, and fried chicken
