2:18 I love that their sound is evolving but their song structure is true to their roots. There's always a calm before the storm of a climax to the song and it's awesome. Can't wait for the rest of the album!
It might be that I haven't been listening to them for their whole ride, but I love this just as much as their older music. I dont care if they are generic or unique, if it makes good sounds, it's good to me.
I discovered the guys after hearing Normandie is gonna support them in the place I will be studying and now I'm addicted!! Can't wait to hear the new jams live!
not listened to the bands other stuff but this song is amazing, not everyone will agree, but i think branching out and making music like this is AMAZING. catchy, good riff, i have it on repeat!!! love it so much
This is different......it is not bad but I really loved the sound they had going on in the dissonants album! For me that's the best post hardcore album ever recorded! I guess it will be one of its kind but here's to hoping they will return back to that sound!! (My opinion entirely) nonetheless keep rocking Hands like houses! will support you guys no matter what!
Forget all of these haters honestly you guys have been doing amazing progress and your only real fans will understand the real growth especially the ones that keep up with you regularly.
@@jamesfalcon2900 only the guitar has a similar chord progression and rhythmic interval, i was talking more about all elements of this song, drums/guitar/vocal melody etc. not the same just very similar feel. merely an observation, i really like both songs!
I keep seeing people complaining about the new sound, but I find that these vocals are the best thing I've ever heard and the instrumentals are still heavy and keep you up and moving. Just my opinion.
*WOW* I just listened to BMTH's What You Need because people kept comparing. It does sound similar. It has a few similar elements its just that Monster is a little more fast paced.
A lot of negative comments here, but for a pop-rock/pop-punk fan who discovered the band not too long ago, and saw a live show a few months ago, this song is absolutely addictive. CAN'T STOP LISTENING, IT PUMPS ME UP :D
For everyone saying this is radio rock: I don't necessarily disagree with you, but at the same time, I'd be pretty stoked to hear this come on my radio.
Wasn't expecting that. Feels like they were given the freedom to experiment after switching labels and this just happen to come out. Not bad, just new and unexpected from them. I like how each song has been different and they've been able to try new things beginning with Drift. If I want their old style, it's not like the old albums are no longer there.
Holy crap, Trentons' voice really punched me right in the face from the very beginning of this O.O I love it! Completely different from what I expected and that just makes it even better
Screw what everybody else says, I like this. I loved their sound back then, and I love it now. No disrespect to anyone else's opinion, but everybody needs to stop comparing what their used to, to what they're trying out now.
I️ get a vibe they’re leading with this as their single cause this might make more mainstream listeners buy anon but the rest of the album may be closer to more traditional HLH. Still dig the hell out of this.
wait really? That's hilarious because I used to like Shinedown and then they got a WWE song right around the time everything they made was trash. Looks like HLH is following in their footsteps. 2 bad albums in a row
To all the people complaining that this isn't like the normal hands like houses, this is just one song from their new album, and in my opinion and they needed a "radio song" to become more well known and its just something more people will remember them by
yeah someones says its different from HLH older songs but still this song is brilliant in a different way. Thanks HLH! WOOO can't wait to dig some more from -ANON
This is the kind of song that you have to listen to really loud in the car with the windows down on the highway. It just doesn't work otherwise. Don't take it too seriously! It's for fun. :)
wow, i dig it. i really wanted to be into their music but it was hard lately with my music taste changing into a bit harder (or deeper voice) stuff so I thought HLH phase is behind me but there's still hope, man!
Hell yes! Loving it. If you like old HLH you get overthinking if you truly like HLH you appreciate something new with monster. These guys can do no wrong. Sounds great and sounds like #anon will have variety of sound and I am totally down for that. Keep it up!
Really making the most of their "Torn" Cover, sound. They pull it off very well, and although I like the sound, I hope the whole album has a few other sounds, because they have such a diverse musical ability, and they can do so much. Anxious to see what else is comimg
The more singles come out, the less it sounds like what I was expecting. This is really neat and they seem to really want to explore what they can do with their sound. And you know what, I'm on for the ride! Can't wait for _-Anon._ ! Might have some cleverer stuff in store too (I can only hope)!
I love the new sound and old sound this sounds more raw and fun. Where as their older stuff was beautiful but emo af. I can party to this song! I don’t get why people dislike when HLH try something different. His vocals are so much more powerful in this 😊 really shows his talent
Coming from me a guy who plays in a rock band too. We definitely pull from influences and that bleeds thru in our tunes, but nothing near this. When I hear an already fairly big sized band turn to this niche i wonder why. It just puzzles me because SWS did this, BMTH, and HLH is now doing this and many others have as well. It may even be to sell more and to appeal to a broader audience but I feel if less bands did this it’d happen less from other bands of similar size. I think if the general shift was towards less linear more original music. Less commonplace melodies and general sound > it would permeate and people would still like it. It would challenge bands in a different way. What happened to wanting to go against the tide? Wanting to be different in a pool of similar bands with similar sounds? Not saying it’s bad but it’s not for me. Sorry to rant.
Tbh, if this had been the first HLH song I’d ever heard, I would have moved on. Nothing wrong with experimenting, but their old music had something I couldn’t find anywhere else.
It really annoys me when HLH fans come in and say that the whole album is gonna suck, even though it hasn’t come out yet. I understand if you don’t enjoy one song, but I’m sure we all can name at least one song on an otherwise amazing album that we didn’t enjoy. Sure, lyrically, this song isn’t anything special, but it’s a nice gritty rock track for the sake of being a rock track, and I like it. If you don’t like this one song, don’t assume that you won’t like the rest of the album. This has the potential to be their best work to date, as all albums do before their release. You might love the whole album with the exception of this one song.
Wow, people really don't like change do they?? Suck it up folks, Life just doesn't slow down because you don't like a new direction. Life changes, things change, people change, perspectives change, styles change. You can't expect something "New" and yet also expect it to be the "same". It don't work like that. As somebody who's still relatively new to this group, I've heard some of their older stuff and heard a good portion of the new stuff and honestly, both are fine to me. They grab me for various reasons and honestly a band that's willing to exit their comfort zone and venture off into new territory are those who can truly call themselves as "artists".
Been seeing lots of comments on how generic this is and how their new sound sucks. As an artist, it's ridiculously draining repetitively creating the same content. You start to feel as though you've hit a wall and become insecure in your work. Whether this is a permanent change we have to let Hands work on their art in their own way and not force them to conform to us wanting their older style. It our jobs as fans to support them. Fantastic song, cheers boys.
As people get older, they change. I used to write a lot of emo songs, but just got sick of it over time. My taste in music has changed entirely in just the past 2 years. Bands change too. It’s natural because they’re also just people. Sometimes, it’s fun to write stuff to mess around with different sounds and let go of all the emotional weight tied to heavy lyrics. That’s what it sounds like HLH is doing and as a vocalist myself, I think it’s AWESOME that Trenton is experimenting with different vocal styles. It takes courage to break out of the style everyone’s attached to/expecting, but sometimes singers need to do it for themselves. Better to try new things and fail every once in a while than become complacent... though I wouldn’t count this as a failure.
Eventhough I really like and prefer the style they had in dissonants and drift, this style is really growing on me. Its a bit more mainstream yes, but the new songs are good catchy and fun especially this one. Looking forward for anon :D
I really enjoyed Overthinking, but honestly I'm not feeling this one at all. It's a little too radio friendly for me. It will probably do quite well live though.
This sounds like an early 2000's video game menu song.
I can already hear it on a FIFA menu
mattV770 Tony Hawk American Wasteland vibes lol
FlatOut 2 soundtrack much? :D
nahhh NHL!
Burnout Paradise
sounds a bit different from what i'm used to with you guys, but i don't mean it in a bad way at all! this sounds amazing, i'm so hyped for new album!
This song just has a feeling about it that it could be HUGE, so keen for the new album
Love that this plays during the GSL, combines two of my favourite things :D
such a banger. cant wait for anon
I discovered the guys after hearing Normandie is gonna support them in the place I will be studying and now I'm addicted!! Can't wait to hear the new jams live!
Have a feeling that since the album drops in October this song will be perfect for halloween
not listened to the bands other stuff but this song is amazing, not everyone will agree, but i think branching out and making music like this is AMAZING. catchy, good riff, i have it on repeat!!! love it so much
This is different......it is not bad but I really loved the sound they had going on in the dissonants album! For me that's the best post hardcore album ever recorded! I guess it will be one of its kind but here's to hoping they will return back to that sound!! (My opinion entirely) nonetheless keep rocking Hands like houses! will support you guys no matter what!
Couldn't have said it better myself
Forget all of these haters honestly you guys have been doing amazing progress and your only real fans will understand the real growth especially the ones that keep up with you regularly.
Wonder if they’re BMTH fans, so similar to “What You Need” in so many ways. Not a bad thing just instantly thought of that song when I heard this.
@@jamesfalcon2900 only the guitar has a similar chord progression and rhythmic interval, i was talking more about all elements of this song, drums/guitar/vocal melody etc. not the same just very similar feel. merely an observation, i really like both songs!
Glad I finally figured out what this song is! GSL uses the most fun stuff!
I keep seeing people complaining about the new sound, but I find that these vocals are the best thing I've ever heard and the instrumentals are still heavy and keep you up and moving. Just my opinion.
By far my favourite band in the world, can’t wait to buy the new album. You guys are the best, I just wish hands like houses would come to Canada.
This song is one of my favorite songs by them by far!!! That groove is soooo ear-pleasing!!!
You know it’s gonna be good when they have that warning at the beginning!
For everyone saying this is radio rock: I don't necessarily disagree with you, but at the same time, I'd be pretty stoked to hear this come on my radio.
The chorus is sick but sounds really different from HLH damnn
Pattanapol Sesthapaisarn Damn?
Ø lolwat
I agree, sadly :(
Pretty good song! Looking forward to them when I see them at Rockville!
Holy crap, Trentons' voice really punched me right in the face from the very beginning of this O.O
I love it!
Completely different from what I expected and that just makes it even better
Sounds like an early 2000s bluesy-grunge song...I like it.
Screw what everybody else says, I like this. I loved their sound back then, and I love it now. No disrespect to anyone else's opinion, but everybody needs to stop comparing what their used to, to what they're trying out now.
Why is everyone hating this? I really really like this and i've known HLH for a long time just that i don't hear them that much...
I️ get a vibe they’re leading with this as their single cause this might make more mainstream listeners buy anon but the rest of the album may be closer to more traditional HLH. Still dig the hell out of this.
WWE Super-Showdown official theme song!
such a good choice for the theme
Megalouis100 the lyrics are PERFECT to describe aj Styles and Samoa joe’s buried alive match
Can someone tell me the song super show down relive now
wait really? That's hilarious because I used to like Shinedown and then they got a WWE song right around the time everything they made was trash. Looks like HLH is following in their footsteps. 2 bad albums in a row
TheLunaticJeff GAY
Awesome song but from the singles so far I think dissonants will still remain #1 album
well that's gonna be hard to top imo
the 1st and 2nd album are their best
No way. Dissonants was by far the best album. Every song was amazing on that album and I can't say that about hardly any other albums.
Ground Dweller & Unimagine is masterpiece
i remember when i listened to Unimagined... damn that shit was stuck in my head
To all the people complaining that this isn't like the normal hands like houses, this is just one song from their new album, and in my opinion and they needed a "radio song" to become more well known and its just something more people will remember them by
Post Punk Revival part 2!! Reminds me of The Vines. What a freaking track man, defo the soundtrack to my Summer!
It’s okay guys I think they really are going to redeem themselves once the album comes out. They’re saving the best for last.. hopefully
Cant forget this emotion, comming back here again and again....
2:10 When my mom yells downstairs to turn my guitar down but I couldn't hear her so I have to get up and see what she said
I'm very nervous this album is going to go the way of Underoath's Erase Me. Please don't lose what has made you guys so special and different.
They're never gonna be the same with out Trent 😭😭😭
Awesome song and band. The video reminds me of something out of the 90's. Noooice!!
This is the right way to Grow Up as a band !
Hands Like Horizons - What You Need
Malek Gamer what monsters need

Thats The Monster Spirit😉
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this 😂
Not really....
I might be seeing you again on tour after 4 years, can't wait to reunite with you guys. Sick tune btw
One of the best bloody tracks I've ever heard! What an absolute banger. It's been on repeat for hours now
yeah someones says its different from HLH older songs but still this song is brilliant in a different way. Thanks HLH! WOOO can't wait to dig some more from -ANON
Loving both singles so far, this album is gonna slap
This is the kind of song that you have to listen to really loud in the car with the windows down on the highway. It just doesn't work otherwise.
Don't take it too seriously! It's for fun. :)
Yea to feel it true ur whole being
OMG, this song rocks!!!! Listen to it on full blast for an awesome listening experience - I love Hands Like Houses!!
Sounds a lot like “What You Need” by BMTH
Starcraft II brought me here. The song is dope AF! Thanks!
Ive never heard of you guys before, but just decided to check the song out, I’m very impressed
hell yeah Taylor!
wow, i dig it. i really wanted to be into their music but it was hard lately with my music taste changing into a bit harder (or deeper voice) stuff so I thought HLH phase is behind me but there's still hope, man!

THANK GOD THEYRE BACK 😭💜
Hands like houses is life❤

Most underrated band.
You are one of the best bands now
Very different guys, but i'm diggin it, lookin forward to Anon! =D

its different, dont mind a few songs like this but lets not lose your original awesome style
I didn't like this at first but I kept listening and the more times I play it over, the more I like it. Im dancing while making spaghetti rn
I've always loved Hands Like Houses because of how unique their sound is... and this sounds like generic radio rock.
Best song ever
this is sooooo good! dig the new HLH vibe! very rock and catchy
Hopeless records has so far and hitting 1million soon. 🤘
Imagine... late night. Fifa. Searching players on the market and this song in the back. 😍
Im not feeling this one but still cant wait for the album
This sure sounds like a hit song. This deserved to be a hit song
Love this song! No matter what genre you guys take I’m always gonna support:) can’t wait to hear more songs ...
GSL BROUGHT ME HERE!
This album is gonna be wild.

I think it's enjoyable track, but it lacks any memorable hooks like songs on Dissonants and Unimagine
Lion Skin
It is different, but after listening to it a few times, it still sounds like Hands Like Houses.

Love how this song is the theme for the WWE super Show down in Australia
Hands Like Houses needs to tour w/ The Hunna & Turbowolf!!!
Love it. Can't wait to see this live.
So different from their previous work, yet still amazing ❤
I really love it ❤❤
I’m really loving the new music!!
Straight up, I like it. Keep it grungy and heavy gentlemen!

quite a few people not keen on the "new direction" but I'm totally digging it
Pretty different, I still love it, absolutely amazing
Nvr disappoints me... Brazil loves u guys!

This isn't bad, but this also isn't unique HLH. Hope the rest of the album gives me satisfaction
Honesty I can't stop listening to this song!!! It's perfect!
I really enjoyed Overthinking, but honestly I'm not feeling this one at all. It's a little too radio friendly for me. It will probably do quite well live though.
Completely & utterly dig this! 🤘🏽🧡
Interesting direction of music, good job guys
Love this song. Made me happy when I saw it was being used
