I must say peter leaving 2017 you were my favourite golf RUclipsr and I think this video has nailed it for me.. you come across so genuine and put your point across very well ( something others could take note of, no upperty viewer here) really pleased for your new sponsorship. Good luck in 2018 🙌🏼👊🏼
At last, somebody talking sense about the whole Crossfield Titliest scenario! People worrying about club reviews need to remember not to buy clubs solely based on reviews, and buy what works for them!
Hi Peter. Brilliant to hear someone finally makea sensible balanced comment about Mark's sponsorship deal. I have watched you, Rick and Mark for years now and love all your content. I will be very surprised if Mark's deal with Titleist will change the way he produces unbiased reviews of other manufacturers equipment. Keep up the good work and fingers crossed this year iin the Quest for the Open.
i think you are right....only time will tell....but i think they are all professionals and the audience is smart enough to figure it out if bias or not. Plus we are smart enough to get other points of view for products...Mark is one man one opinion.
Very, very fair comments regarding sponsorship Pete. If your clothing deal or MCs club deal or Piers and Andy with TM means you can provide better content, get more access to the Tour Pros etc and provide revenue so you can keep going then why the hell not. I know MC is a bit marmite but I like his stuff, just as I like yours, Ricks, Liams and even the TM twins! I take what I want from all your stuff depending on whether I want to see a course, get instruction, or look at equipment. I don't get the bitterness that I've detected in some vids and Tweets lately. Ultimately, I only buy what I can try myself and I think you're all smart and socially savvy enough by now not to ruin the credibility you've all built by doing biased reviews
Crossfield is fantastic, although he is a bit much on twitter. Pete is also great. As for sponsorship, deals, that is the world we live in, not got an issue with it as long as it does not colour reviews of products.
Some of Crossfield stuff is pretty good but also can be a bit much. He talks to fast for a lot of viewers and doesn't seem to have very good golf etiquette on vlogs like stepping in people's putting line when they have at 4-5 foot birdie put or even lying down on it. He should team up with Piers and Andy then they can all wear matching clothes lol
Well done to you pete for giving a grown up opinion of the “titleist signing” everyone else seems to want to take a dig at crossfield but you have seen the bigger picture and that sponsorship will make a huge difference to RUclips videos. Crossfield will always be crossfield and will still give his opinion on whatever club he reviews. Either way I wouldn’t go and buy a club any of the youtubers say is perfect, I would have to find the out myself..... just so you know nothing is “perfect” for me apparently 😉
Sponsorship is great for you guys and absolutely adds value to your content by providing the financial freedom to focus more on your channels. Mark Crossfield was one of the original pioneers of golf on RUclips and he's gone from filming from a driving range to vlogs from courses local to him to vlogs from courses and events all over the world. You and Rick are following a very similar journey and watching all of your early videos show how far you've come from such humble beginnings. It's easy for the bitter to criticise the sponsorship coming into RUclips golf vloggers but let's not forget you guys have put in hours and hours of work producing FREE content, whilst holding down full time coaching jobs to pay the bills. The fact that your input is now being valued by the golf industry is only a positive and quite frankly a long time coming - I've watched far more of you, Rick and Mark Crossfield over the past few years than any tour pro's and in reality if Dustin Johnson hits his driver 5yds further this year because it's the new model that has very little bearing on my golf game so why would I copy him?!? As for the bias that sponsorship could create, the great thing about RUclips is that it is about as capitalist as you can get in that the best videos get the most views and if a channel starts putting out rubbish because of the influence of a sponsor then people will simply stop watching it and the sponsor and the vlogger will lose out. The quicker this then translates to getting you guys on tv to replace the ex footballers, failed tour pro's and non golfers that currently occupy the pundits sofa the better!
Hey fella, as much as I disagree with how far you go in your dislike from Mark Crossfield, not because I necessarily disagree with you but for your own sanity as you seem too irate, I now can't listen to that ed sheeran song without singing your words - absolutely classic! You may be right on the reviews, only time will tell...
*Just something to add on gear effect, I didn't really explain face bulge and the gear effect on toe/heal strikes fully or very clearly For more info read this from Adam Young, sums it up quite nicely www.adamyounggolf.com/gear-effect/
Peter Finch Golf I know I've only just found Ur channel but I'm working on something from the past an idea from Henry Cotton and John Panton have a look if u have time would appreciate feedbackruclips.net/video/emVvtseySdA/видео.html
I like that sponsorship is coming to you guys. It is a reward for your hard work and they are trying to tap into your success. What's good is that we as subscribers have influenced these companies into supporting your channels. Hopefully it helps to grow the golfing RUclips community so that we as subscribers get even better content to feed our golfing indulgences.
Good on you Pete for taking a very fair and honest stance on the Mark Crossfield deal. I agree that as long as bias is not introduced and any reviews are done with nothing but complete honesty, then any content produced can only be improved. As MC has said, his clubs are not going to suddenly go 20 yards further than ever before. Keep up the good work Pete. Really enjoy your channel.
Hey, a man's gotta make a living. If you showed up in your Taylormade TP5 cap, and Nike shoes, with Ping irons, and driving the Yamaha golf cart specifically, it's all fine as long as the content is there. Your course vlogs are hilarious and educational. I binge a few now and again to try to up my game. Whatever keeps you doing what you love, I see no shame in your game.
I don't comment enough on your vids I hope to change that. As for sponsorship, either clubs or clothing, I think it's great for you (And other youtubers) and your viewers especially if your great content continues and expands, after all the bottom line is everyone has bills to pay and mouths to feed. All the best for 2018 Pete 👍
Thanks Peter Finch; loved your opinion on Mark Crossfield + Titleist and keeping it professional and supporting your piers in the RUclips arena. With regards to your new sponsorship....Congrats to you....it is your hard work and integrity that got you what you deserve.
Happy New Year Peter! Nailed the sponsorship part! I've been a fan of you, Rick, Mark, me and my golf, improve my golf, Matt Fryer etc since the start and I think it's a natural progression to start receiving some nice stuff as you have a lot of followers. One question though? What exactly does a new clothing company do that will allow you to make better content? Is it purely more money that allows you to buy better cameras etc?
A very fair and mature perspective on sponsorship of social media, well done sir. I think sometimes people do not understand the time and effort you tubers and podcasters take to produce FREE content for us and to do it well. Yes any one can film themselves playing a round or reviewing clubs, but it takes skill to make that entertaining as well as informative. They have changed the way golf equipment is reviewed and made huge strides in ensuring the punters are not falling for all the marketing guff. The big golf companies are falling over themselves to sponsor the top golf podcasters and youtubers now so best of luck to them. As soon as anyone starts making their videos or podcasts thinly veiled adverts then people are not stupid and will switch off soon enough. But the best golf podcasters and you tubers are better than that and fair play to them for that.
So nice to hear sensible balanced and reasoned comments here Pete. Really looking forward to seeing what content you’ll be doing this year and of course who the mystery clothing partner will be! Keep it up!
Great video Pete. It’s nice to here more supportive comments about other youtubers. I like your videos as you show a more personal side to your days/weeks which is interesting to see (although pretty jealous!). When other youtubers or others start taking the mick just to get viewers I find it very sad. Keep doing what you doing as I think you offer something different to others. I wish I could do golf vlogs myself!
Glad to see a level headed response to a business decision. Hope to see more great content in the future. Looking forward to going through your golf along videos when the Southern US warms up.
Very fair, balanced video, Pete, and credit to you for mentioning Mark and your take on it. While I don't think for a minute that he will be biased in any way, I simply do not see how you can be paid by a club manufacturer yet review other brands' clubs and be seen to be 100% impartial - the very nature of the commercial partnership kills that stone dead.
Happy New Year Pete. Interesting to hear that you have a new clothing deal! More than happy to take all your Galvin Green clobber off your hands to free up your wardrobe space!!
Nice take. For me, Crossfields channel has morphed from a review/tips channel into a vlog/entertainment channel sprinkled in with tips and reviews so I get why he did the deal. Having better "access" to the Titleist staff for his on course challenges should really benefit. And to be honest, his reviews for the past couple years have been very similar: "Yeah, it looks good, feels good and does what it should. Get fit." which is pretty accurate about the state of most modern golf equipment.
TM new clubs, what a surprise! Too often I say! I don’t want a 7 iron with a 5 iron loft from anyone. Full marks for your fair comments on sponsors. Carry on keeping it real sir!
I knew I could rely on Pete to give a balanced common sense point of view on the sponsorship issue. So many people have already made up their minds without having seen any content yet. To me the more access you guys can get to the big manufacturers the better the content will be and sponsorship is a sure fire way to get that. As a long time subscriber I can't wait to see where you take things this year.
Hi Pete, really respect you coming out and clarifying your position on the sponsorship deal, sorry for send a tweet calling you ricks puppy! I thought you were really trying to stir the pot and divide the RUclips Golf community.
Happy New Year Pete! Glad to have you back on the ‘Tube & very glad you enjoyed yourself on holiday (although still HIGHLY disappointed in your college team choice 😂). Re: youtuber sponsorships, I generally agree that there should be zero issue w/ it so long as channels/content don’t become too much of an advertisement masquerading as content. Nobody should be “mad” at anyone for making what’s a pretty basic business decision. Especially given the hard work & time that goes into making daily RUclips content. Re: crossfield specifically, I don’t think his deal will really change anything. To his credit, his consistent message has pretty much always been that the numbers all come back more or less the same for every club when hit well & the tech is rendered relatively meaningless subject to how you hit it. Any deviation from that message would be painfully obvious and it’d be game over for him. That being said, I also don’t think there’s anything wrong w/ TM giving him a big 🖕🏻if they choose to do so bc he’s always been pretty blatant in his biases. For example, he 💩s all over TM marketing (NOT the product) while giving a pass to Callaway for doing the same type of marketing/market flooding of products. He loves all things Mizuno and even before his deal he repeatedly said Titleist, as a brand, always does things the “right” way. Basically, he’s always been & will continue to be a highly opinionated online “personality.” So the fact that he’s now a Titleist partner/billboard/portal for Titleist’s message to us consumers means other companies (especially those w/ a negative history w/ crossfield) would be crazy not to be wary of him. In fact, IMO the only “problem” w/ this whole situation is Crossfield’s juvenile/semi-annual online hissy-fit at not getting free TM stuff sent his way. As great as his golf content is, and a lot of it is VERY good/unique/innovative...as a person, he’s always seemed a bit of a conceited bi@&% to me and he only confirms that opinion by the way he tries to talk down to people online. I can only imagine the headache of having to deal w/ him on a regular basis...End of the day, whoever @ TM that has had to deal w/ crossfield probably always hated the guy and was only too happy to say bye Felicia once he signed his deal w/ Titleist.
Jay Chung good post, agree with everything you said,he's had a right old rant today when the best thing would have been to keep his response short and succinct, but predictably he spat his dummy out.
Totally agree, any publicity for any manufacturer is good publicity when reviewing different manufactures products. Great vlog peter keep up the great work Cheers
Best of luck in 2018, Pete! I’m looking forward to seeing the new opportunities that will come with new sponsorship, and with your increasing amount of exposure on RUclips and within the golfing world, I’m sure you’ll land an appropriate club deal this year.
It has been so fun being witness to your success, Pete (and all Golf RUclips instructors). Completely agree with your attitude. Good for all those that can earn a better living through sponsorship. I think we'll know whether or not the Titleist Sponsorship impacts Mark when he next reviews a Mizuno product. :D
I've always been amazed that yourself, Rick, Mark and others aren't already adorned in clothing deals. You guys all have 10k plus viewers and releases videos almost on a daily basis. I couldn't tell you what Rory wore let alone a sub 10 tour player.
I feel like all of Marc’s videos the end message is always get lessons, get fitted. At this point a really good player could pick up almost any new club and perform with it. He does a good job of stressing that point, in my opinion. Good for him
Cant believe that you don't talk about Garcia going in to callaway. but love that you have signed your own deal with.. to be continued.. I like that the "normal" player gets to idealize a "normal" player. sure the top 10 in the world are a grate inspiration but the Normal guys are more of a motivation. and that is the different of progress. Thanks, love your show
Very smart video, mostly with regard to youtubers' sponsorship. I think this is a good thing, and can't understand why any manufacturer would have a bad feeling for someone that is sponsored by other one.... short minded is my guess, or, they don't trust that much in their own products (which by the way are good in the case of TM).
Congratulations Pete on your new clothing deal. It’s been nice to see you and Rick become bigger but still stay humble and produce quality, enjoyable content. Looking forward to your 2018 videos.
Hi Pete, loved the vlog and your honesty with regards to other RUclipsrs. Having followed you now for 3-4 years I'm made up for what you have 'gained/achieved' ( even a bit envious ) through your hard work, so all the best to you. Maybe you are in a slightly better position than the others because you don't review clubs so you won't be scrutinized like the Marks and Ricks of this world! By the way, any spare Galvin Green stuff going!!!!
Great video Pete, very honest and balanced to the club sponsorship debate. I have nothing against a RUclipsr being sponsored, I think anyone in the same position as Mark Crossfield would do the same too. I play the M1 and am a bit of a sucker for “new“ technology but I’m not sure if this persuades me enough to want to purchase an M3/4 especially as I too am not a fan of the silver/grey!
Well done Pete, most sensible and balanced comments I've read re Mark Crossfield and other golf you-tubers sponsorship deals. Good luck with all you do in 2018, I'll certainly be following you.
Great video Peter , honest opinions , very well said on the Mark Crossfield sponsor deal used to follow him a lot but in all honesty drifted towards you and Rick over the last year you just both seem more down to earth where Mark and his crew seemed to get a bit full of themselves , just my opinion lol. Hope Mark does stay fairly impartial regards reviews only time will tell I guess.
Well said Pete👏 and for being honest. You guys need to earn a living and if a club sponsor happens to come along.... grab it with two hands. Others are just bitter about what MC has worked for and if truth be told they’d probably do the same. Love the tech Tuesdays, keep them coming 👍🏻
Totally agree, I'm sticking with my 2016 M2 and M2 Irons. Sure I'll try an new M3/4 but I doubt if they're making anymore distance. However I need to be fitted for a shaft.
Well done Pete, was a little concerned that you might be negative regarding the deal, judging by lots of the comments I have read below this video. I think you summed it up perfectly by suggesting we wait to see if Crossfield stays independent in his reviews. Looking forward to seeing more of you Quest for the Open Vlogs, love watching you play golf mate.
Thanks Pete...Happy New Year to you and your family!!!! I really don't know why this such an issue for so many people. As long as any reviews done by a "Sponsored" channel are fair and unbiased...it's a great thing for everyone.
Happy New Year Pete. Not sure on the M3 & M4. Look a little cheap to me. Will probably stick to my M1 (2016) that is still working fine at the moment. Great comments regarding MC's current deal, very level headed, you are the wish gentleman of You Tube Golf. Some other people just seem to be losing it over the whole thing. Looking forward to the year, loved the GolfAlong series over the break.... Is that a grey Norwegian fox tail hanging out of your jumper.
Like the idea behind the tech will hit to see if better than my m1 2016. As for sponsor ship, landscape is changing, and for all you guys, it’s great that the big company’s are recognising the effect you are all having on golf. Be it participation or apparel or buying clubs. All good
Nice one Peter, if you can secure sponsorship that helps to carry on producing great content for us that's a win/win situation surely. As long as everyone knows the score and there is no misleading or biased information given why should it be an issue. Go for it, you deserve to reap the rewards of all the hard work building your channel.
Twist face is old technology as Cobra has had it for years. And there is some talk about other manufacturers in the past also had it. Give an honest opinion of who should put out that kind of $ vs keep what currently works for the mid handicapper.
Hello Pete....Happy New Year and hoping form a great 2018 with you at the Open! Top notch content today. Really interesting. Agree with about the new ways of advertising. It is changing thd landscape a little. I think for you guys it will be beneficial in thd long run. Keep up with good work and excellent content. Good luck this year with the quest for the Open!
Happy New Year Pete! I’m really torn...I just bought an M2 Driver and 3 Wood with a view to upgrade the shafts through a custom fitting. Now I’m wondering whether I should return them and pay the extra for the M4...do you think it’s worth it?! Good luck on sponsorship - thoroughly deserved
Look forward to the new sponsorship unveil, I understand people’s concerns about sponsorships but if it changes how content is delivered for the worst people will turn off. Love your channel, keep doing what your doing, all the best for the coming year, here’s to the Open!
👌.. well said Pete. I'm more excited about you making 2nd stage qualifier than the M3 and M4... but golf box did a nice review and I would still like to give it a rip.
I think Crossfield is honest and will do his level best to continue to review clubs as he has done in the past. I wonder, however, if Titleist's better access to Crossfield could taint Crossfield's perspective without him even knowing it. For example, Titleist's reps may spend more time explaining to Crossfield in more detail all the manufacturing bells and whistles that go into Titleist equipment. Crossfield almost subconsciously could find himself enjoying that equipment a bit more. Is it a huge deal? I don't think so. But I do think he needs to acknowledge the issue.
Nice to see you back up and running. So the obvious question....has BMW M division purchased. Taylormade?? M3 and M4? Plus the white, blue and red colouring? Seems very M division to me. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this? Your thoughts? Ps. Hope you had a great Xmas.
I must say peter leaving 2017 you were my favourite golf RUclipsr and I think this video has nailed it for me.. you come across so genuine and put your point across very well ( something others could take note of, no upperty viewer here) really pleased for your new sponsorship. I agree with you there I'd like to see Pete get a club deal 👍

I say good luck to all you guys in any sponsorship deals you get as you all work hard in providing unbiased and informative content for us viewer's.

Very fair, balanced video, Pete, and credit to you for mentioning Mark and your take on it.

Happy New Year Pete. Interesting to hear that you have a new clothing deal! More than happy to take all your Galvin Green clobber off your hands to free up your wardrobe space!!
The endorsement/sponsorhip comments were very nicely put
The best thing about the new M3? Heavily discounted M2s

Jay Chung, r u from Cali? I know of a Jay Chung, who is one of my suppliers ).
Ted Ou Yup from SoCal but not in any supplying business.
Totally agree, any publicity for any manufacturer is good publicity when reviewing different manufactures products.
Great vlog peter keep up the great work
Cheers
Lo Peter, I would love to see you discuss your year with the one length and how it has helped your game and where it has not.
Pete, pls look into whether the 'Twist face' technology was really a Taylormade idea, and how similar is it to the Cobra bulge tech.
Happy New year Pete! Excited for all the content you and the boys have instore
I've always been amazed that yourself, Rick, Mark and others aren't already adorned in clothing deals. You guys all have 10k plus viewers and releases videos almost on a daily basis. I couldn't tell you what Rory wore let alone a sub 10 tour player.
Happy new year everyone
Great honest video Pete. Keep up the great content in 2018 😁
HNY Pete , as always the voice of reason and common sense.. looking forward to all you have to say and do this year . 😉🏌️⛳️🍻
Thanks, love your show
Congrats Pete whatever company it may be. Am I sensing a cheeky giveaway of your old GG gear 😜 it has just been the season of goodwill after all. 👍🏻
Happy new year mate !
Happy new year!
I had got used to associating you with Calvn Green but I'm sure you know best. Good luck with the new sponsor
Well done Pete on having a professional opinion about crossfield.
Great video Pete!! Good on you. You remain the voice of reason in a crazy RUclips world👍
Well done Pete, most sensible and balanced comments I've read re Mark Crossfield and other golf you-tubers sponsorship deals. Good luck with all you do in 2018, I'll certainly be following you.
Congrats on the sponsorship :)
Very well explained Pete, you make complete sense and get your views across perfectly clear. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Cheers Earl
Great video, especially the youtubers part. Get yourself to Bingley St Ives for a vlog this year and check out Billy's (Foster) bar afterwards!
Thanks alot Steve, appreciate your support :)
TJ Shine 2016 M2 head is saucy. Most tour players still play this version.
Great video Peter, good to see your not bashing MC unlike other RUclipsr’s.
Peter can you touch on the defective issues that Tailor-made is having with the face slots
The issue has been existing since the RSi 1 and 2 irons
Appreciate the skepticism in regards to the TM launch Pete. TBf it looks like they have added more this time than last.
Good on ya Pete.
Do you plan on doing more reviews this year? Would love your imput on this series of clubs.
Happy New year Pete.
Love the videos Pete. Keep them going and get up to 200k subscribers!! Happy New Year!
Pete. Correct the battle board can you 'Stroks Gained' was catching my eye..but that might just be me.
Pete, nice video. No, I am not looking to test these. That “New Twist Face” tech has been used by another brand for years.
Happy new year! Looking forward to whats to come!
Happy New Year Pete! I’m really torn...I just bought an M2 Driver and 3 Wood with a view to upgrade the shafts through a custom fitting. Now I’m wondering whether I should return them and pay the extra for the M4...do you think it’s worth it?!
Good luck on sponsorship - thoroughly deserved
thewonderfulparadox 2016 M2 all day, stay strong my friend!
Happy New Year! Cannot wait to hear your announcement on Thursday!
As always great content Pete! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Pete! Mark is cool by me.
Look forward to the new sponsorship unveil, I understand people’s concerns about sponsorships but if it changes how content is delivered for the worst people will turn off. Love your channel, keep doing what your doing, all the best for the coming year, here’s to the Open!
Happy new year Pete, great vid again. Also nice to hear someone being sensible about sponsorship. All the best for 2018 mate.
Happy new year Pete carry on the great work.
Great comments on the MC situation.
Really looking forward to your 2018 content. Great work Finchy!
Another great vid Pete happy new year
👌.. well said Pete.
