      ​@@ontariocbclub Hi : ) Unfortunately my radio is a receiver only and I cannot transmit - I can only answer via Internet. I made my antenna from the old tv dipole and added some scrap wire so quite experimental "setup" : ) but during the CQ contest I also received some participants from Canada.

      @@skajuoker--x oh this is cool. Yes you can receive on any band with an external antenna. Even a piece of wire outside will work better than the small telescopic antenna that comes with the receiver. You can find a cheap cb radio with USB and LSB (not just AM only) and you can transmit too. Take a piece of coax (rg58) attach a pl259 connector on one side for the radio and the other side split the coax and connect 8.5 ft or speaker wire on the positive and an other 8.5 ft of speaker wire to the negative. You can just tape it, no need to solder. If you can hang this horizontal somewhere outside you are good to go my friend. Check out this video to see this antenna in action.
