Ten Hag developed those talented players at Ajax, then he lost a lot of them after that UCL run…De Ligt, De Jong, Ziyech Etc etc, then had a structure that recruited Tadic, Gravenberch, etc etc and rebuilt the team and won the league again immediately. The structure supported him with players, with recruitment, and when he had player issues they backed him too. This is his first few months with that structure at United on the back of winning two trophies in two years with a horrendously imbalanced squad. He’ll no doubt be fired, but the next coach (who I hope will be Nagelsmann) will be reaping his work with players like Dalot, Mainoo and Garnacho, and a structure that has created a foundation for now (de Ligt, Mazraoui etc) and the future (Kone, Yoro, Martin, etc).

Rodri deserves it on merit with a slight edge but Vini will get it.
