I have been a Thrive consultant since 2010. I remember getting the sample and tasting the different things in the little cup. I said 'This tastes just like the 'real' thing.' Of course, that is because every thing Thrive IS the REAL thing. I enjoy watching you use the food in recipes. I just put in a little of this, a handful of that, add water and cook for a short while and, batta bing batta boom, dinner is ready!
Planning to do this dish today. So excited. I did go to thrive and get the recipe on my iPad so I can refer to it while I cook. The reason your cooking videos are so important to me is that my disabilities make cooking tough. Watching someone who walks me through slowly really helps Thank you Elizabeth. God bless you for your teaching skill.
When you cut in butter, it is so fast and even if you freeze your stick of butter and use your box grater to grate it. It only takes a minute, and it's in tiny pieces you can just fluff into your other ingredients.
I needed this recipe today and bingo! it's still here. Thank you Elizabeth. I enjoy following along; in a way it is like having company while I prepare. I used to bake with my neighbor but she has since moved into a retirement community. This has been a blessing. Merry Christmas!
Ok.. so I decided to try this from scratch!! I had dehydrated apples, that i dried myself and some frozen blueberries I needed to use up. ( you know.. the whole freezer burn thing) . Anyway.. I dont know how long it takes to make these with #thrive life , but I bet not the whole afternoon!!! Thrive next time FOR SURE!
Whenever I get stressed by life's journey.. I will sit down and go back an rewatch your videos.. Elizabeth your soft loving Sprite can bring so much peace, and claiming to my soul..thank you for just being you..xoxo's
You guys are just wonderful, you rock! I have never been one for watching cooking shows. But I love watching your cooking videos, well actually all your videos. Just real life. Plus Elizabeth you are someone who just seems to have a super warm soul and it is a joy listening to you. Bill you too. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I believe you are people I would enjoy being around. Thank you. I made my first meal with Thrive tonight. You are right, the food tastes wonderful. I will have to try this dessert recipe.
I have a tip for you, combine the butter and flour together in a food processor or magic bullet, stick in the fridge BN until you're ready to combine with the other ingredients. it works great.
My husband made a simple cover for the sinks in our camper by putting two pieces of 1” x 2” wood, one on left side and one on right side of a cutting board a little bigger than the two sinks. This raised it up so I had a solid working surface. It just slid into the cabinet below sink area when not in use. Later he built a small cabinet space for cookie sheets, pizza pans, etc. to store on their sides to use less room. He made it tall enough for my sink cover, too. Later I had him make one with thin sheet of plywood so I could tile to match counter tops. He was the most handy man-anything I suggested he could make and so, so many ideas of his own. Maybe Bill will make one for you. Bet you would like it.
That blueberry apple bars looks delicious! Yummy! I'm gonna look for the recipe. Thanks Elizabeth for the cooking demonstration. Hugs and Love God Bless!😃🐹🐱
I have arthritis as well, and I cut chunks of butter and then quarter the chunks, takes a little more time, but doesn't hurt as much... 😂 Love you both, God bless.
Hi Elizabeth, I am glad you did a cooking video. I can smell it and looks so good. I will put those fruit on my wish list. Hope you will make more meals, when you do it it look so easy ans simple. Thank you for sharing and God bless both of you.
These look yummy. Thrive looks so good. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and my hands are quite painful, wish this was available here as it saves so much chopping x
Hello Elizabeth & Bill, I was checking what you guys were up to before I went to sleep and now I want something sweet. I wonder why? That looked delicious! Be well you two, thank you.
Looking at blueberry bars made me think if wild blueberry bushes in the area, and black raspberries. We try to use real butter too, so appreciate that.. We need a mini cow or pigmy goat!.. lol.. just feeling good this morning. Thanks for all you do.
With my first order coming...that I added to 3 more times LOL,,,,,I saved this video for order time...I am going to have variety for bringing things to my siblings for Sunday dinner LOL...the solo gal!!! I love how the clock goes off, so homey. YUM. I also have a set of Pyrex from the mid 90's that has smaller pieces..perfect for cutting down recipes for one and have just notices how Thrive has done that for you on the site you can narrow down recipes right there!!!
Elizabeth: "I got a bunch of help from tall dark and handsome here" Bill: "who?" *looks around* That made me ACTUALLY laugh outloud, thanks for the witty sense of humor both of you
Elizabeth, that certainly looked delicious coming out of the oven and I'm sure it smelled heavenly! Wish I could've had a piece sent through my laptop LOL! I wanted to add that if there are others who are dairy and soy tolerance that you can use Earth balance butter. It's made from different oils and taste delicious. Thanks for sharing the video and God bless also!
Hi Elizabeth, Your bars look wonderful. I was wondering if there was room under your microwave for a" Bill built "garage for your some of your cast iron ware? I live in a small house that was built in 1902 ,and the kitchen was done over in the 40's so I am always looking for ways to improve my space problems. Your videos are an inspiration to me.
+Nancy Willett Hi, this is Bill. That is a BRILLIANT idea. I'll have to see what I can do about designing something under the microwave for the cast iron. thank you so much. This seems video worthy to me :-)
Tinyhouse Prepper I am indeed thinking about the consultant level. After I work with the Thrive for a while plan to have my Daughter in law work with me. I am disabled and she is taking care of my son who is a disabled Vet. Together we might have enough energy to work out a way to do the consulting. I have to do baby steps but I think Thrive May help my endurance.
If you don't have a pastry cutter or misplace yours, you can take two butter knives and in one hand separate slightly and it works very well. I have done it before.
The more videos I watch of your Thrive recipes, the more interested I become in getting some of the individual foods, though I'm not quite ready to jump in yet.
When you cut in butter, it goes easier when you cut the butter on a cutting board in lengthwise slices, make strips, and the chop In small pieces. Add to flour mixture and then use your pastry cutter. It will become crumbly in no time with minimal effort.
Hi Thrivers, That looks scrumptious AND easy. Others have said that you should do more cooking videos. No pressure here but yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, I agree! I am anxious to get plan one. I have made several things this past week that would have lent themselves well to using Thrive products. By watching your videos I see ways to save time and effort. Not to mention the lack of waste. I am ashamed of what I throw out because leftovers have turned Into a science in the back of my fridge or produce has gone unnoticed and unused. I'm heading to your web site tomorrow, but may email or call if there are any questions. God bless both of you. Jane and her wacky sidekick, Lola, the Boston Terrier
Looks very nice Elizabeth.......here in England, we would call that a flapjack or crumble base ....either way it looks yummy...but.don't think I would have added all the water, looked a bit too wet, for me!! X
I told big family homestead I am so interested n trying and selling these products. I wish I could try them first I have been a subscriber for a while and these look and sound amazing
You CAN try them. Just buy a few pantry cans or Snackies to try them out. Then after you try some, you can make a decision about becoming a consultant.
How about a mini processor...Walmart has them for $9.93, but they vary in price when you get to the brand names. I was thinking of getting one for mixing streusel topping. You have to pulse it so it doesn't get over mixed. It's good for onions, parsley, garlic, etc, and speeds things up when making a salad.
Did you get your pastry blender from the thrift store? I find I save so much $ shopping there. I got a set of high grade metal measuring cups there when I needed to replace mine for pennies. Score! These fruit bars look yummy. Thanx! Watching your videos from beginning to end.
+Angie's Pantry The only thing we boil to rehydrate is the potato chunks because they are dehydrated rather than freeze dried. Everything else is cold or warm water.
It is a very long drawn out process to get products like this into other countries. But I have been told that Thrive is working on opening up a freeze drying facility in the UK. They have already bought the freeze driers for the plant. They are hoping (and so am I) to be able to open up the UK market for Thrive Life food within a year. I will definitely let you know when that actually happens!
Looks good. Never cooked or ate dehydrated food. My questions is on salt, fat & sugar in the products. I'm on Weight Watchers and I must watch and count these in my points. Could you enlighten we on this with Thrive?
Thrive Life food is freeze dried, not dehydrated. There is a difference. Freeze dried is much healthier and easier to use than dehydrated. Thrive has a few meals, called Simple Plate, that are complete meals. These meals have some spices and a few extra things in them. But the majority of Thrive food is sold as individual ingredients so that you can cook your own favorite recipes. You can buy can of peas, a can of broccoili, a can of shredded beef, etc. These cans have NOTHING in them except to product. If you look at the ingredients of a can of peas it says.... "Peas." That's it. Blueberries are JUST blueberries. Nothing else. They are all non-GMO, no additives, no preservatives, no MSG, no salt or sugar or fat added. Here is a video we did about the nutrition of Thrive Life foods. ruclips.net/video/SbwNwi9jFgg/видео.html
