Hi, longtime viewer here. I’ve always been a casual chess enthusiast, and this has been my go-to ASMR channel for literally almost as long as this channel has been around. I remember the huge hiatus you had a while ago back when you were still doing the screen recording videos - sometimes I still watch those for nostalgia. Anyways, it’s been thrilling to see the channel grow and watch the production quality shoot up exponentially over the years.
Life has not been horribly kind to me, but this channel has always helped me wind down. Much appreciated.
Hello friend. I am very happy to hear that you are a long time viewer. It is crazy that this channel has been going on for so many years, yet the majority of views has come in the past 12 months or so. You are in the cool club of early adopters I guess and for that I am thankful. I am saddened to hear that life is treating you poorly. I myself am facing some adversity these days and I have not been a stranger to pain, so I know that life can be tough. Very tough even. I send you my best wishes and hopes and I believe you can overcome your challenges. Some people fall not even once in their entire life and therefore does not know and does not respect balance or understand how hard the ground is when we hit it. Some people fall so often and gets hurt so much they only know falling and never learn to maintain balance when they stand up. I don’t know much but I know that I would rather have fallen and learnt the value of balance than not. I sympathize with people who have fallen like I have. And I respect those who get up infinitely more than those who never had to. Somebody once said that the value of a gift must be measured in relation to the giver’s wealth. Getting a car from a billionaire is a smaller gift than a smile from a poor person. In the same way succes must be measured in relation to the adversity one has overcome. Somebody born able-bodied to a supportive and healthy family with economic security who goes on to be rich and famous is less impressive to me than somebody who has overcome adversity and has built a small life for themselves. The thing that can impress me the most of all is when somebody have had such a hard life that they could rightfully be bitter and resentful, but still manage to be honest and kind. I hope you will be around the channel for years to come and I hope life will smile at you. It is not a fair world and doing the hard work to stand up again and again is not necessarily rewarded. But we have to try again and again, because the ground is cold and hard and if we don’t we will surely stay down. Best wishes and hopes to you my friend.

I can't be the only person who reads this guy's comments and am just enamored with how good a person he is besides the content he produces. Genuinely the most wholesome content creator I think I've ever come across. Such kindness here in the space ASMR chess has created. Makes me feel so much less alone.

My friend after f3 by white, you can force the trade of rooks with Rc2 to pin white's rook to their king!

At 26:28 couldn’t you have gone Be4+ then if he takes you recapture, but if he moves his king you take the pawn, if he plays Rg1+ he goes Kh2 and then you can play something like Rh1+ and have a pretty good spot I think. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

31:37 you said you were hoping for a way to trade the rooks, but you could have just played Rc2 here. It's defended by the bishop and it pins white's rook, forcing a trade

I just started watching ur videos a few weeks ago and every time i play chess i have a hard time checking the king there could be no other pawns on thier side and id still have a hard time can u gimme some tips?
Yes just keep playing. It may feel as if you are stuck with this problem, but it will slowly get better as long as you keep playing. If you play online or on the computer remember to always go over every move of the game after it finishes.

28:02 Wait, both b2 and f2 are hanging, no? Don’t you get 2 Pawns if Rxa4 occurs and you just need to defend against one outside passer? Re4 to defend the a4 Pawn, allowing white to play Rd2 to protect everything and consolidate seems like a horrible idea.
Yes taking b2 was the correct idea in this position, but time pressure and fear got the best of me and I played for the draw instead. A practical decision that I’m not entirely unhappy with - I was low on time and had been fighting to survive for many moves. Getting a dynamic position with chances for both sides could easily have resulted in a loss for me, as I was not ‘in flow’ and could easily have messed up. Going for the draw resulted in a position that was easier to play but also almost impossible to win.
