Definitely a big bike (and I'm 6'5") but like you said, easy to throw around in the air, and surprisingly poppy. Great bike, and it pushed me to go faster and faster. The bike was never a limiting factor, it was me squeezing the brakes too much.

Having watched so many of Nick's vids from the outset .... this is Nick literally throwing a party about a bike. I'd love a go on one. Sort of monster I always choose. Would love to see how this compares to other big rigs I've had. Awesome vid as usual
Extremely exciting design by Norco. The ride seemed like a lot of fun, I do those trails every week. Makes me proud of having a 2020 Norco Range model.
Really interesting bike and good overview video. I do chuckle everytime I see a Seymour video/instagram that starts at the CBC lot and then magically cuts to jumping into Corkscrew ;)
i feel like a huge part of a bike feeling nimble, regardless of the travel numbers, are geometry numbers. if the geo is "right", any bike should be playful in the air because that good geo gives you full control over the bike, not the other way around. i've ridden some huge bikes, like 200mm or more of travel but with old geo numbers and they feel dead, they eat up big bumps like nothing but man they're boring bikes. i've also ridden short travel bikes, namely the transition spur and it can do things i'd never even consider taking some downhill bikes on. its cool to see the bike industry evolving
Hey love the video, seems like you’re fully swayed to the side of 29ers, but I wanna see you check out a mullet bike like the transition patrol or Santa Cruz Bronson, I think you’d have a unique perspective on it sense you ride both wheel sizes already!
get it for the bike park but for local trails stick with the Wreckoning!! and that lower pivot just makes me cringe, I hit the chainring often enough and cant imagine that pivot hanging down another 20-30mm
I got one of these recently and I would have to agree with everything nick said. It is super planted through the rough stuff while still being playful and poppy. Great review!👍
Would love to see you ride something like a dreadnought and see how it compares to the range. Seems everyone whos tested the new range is loving it though, looks like a great bike
This has no brake jack, but the Forbiddens are known for having a good amount. I’d say this bike is definitely one of the fastest race bikes there is. It can be playful too if you want it to be, but built to go fast
@@philn9205 the biggest difference between the range and the Dreadnought, on paper, is the very high anti-rise value of the Dreadnought Suspension. I remember teh anti-rise Being around 130% witch means that the rear Suspension compresses when you usw your rear Brake. This is nice for steep trails since your Bike is Not moving you towards the Bars when you Brake in steep Terrain. The downside of such high anti-rise values is that your rear Suspension will Lock while braking. The range in comparsion hast a very active Suspension under rear braking.
@@maffin2917 yes, I believe 130% at 0mm wheel travel. I think 140% or higher would be considered "very high". A properly custom tune rear shock goes a long way. My Dreadnought has a custom EXT Storia Lok3 and for me, under braking, the rear seems to have the right balance of stable chassis position and optimal suspension sensitivity. I can't recall having the sensation of less grip in the rear. I've only been riding it for a month and a half and I can tell you now, my suspension has never "Locked" while braking. But I'll keep looking for the sensation of less active suspension under heavy braking.
Drool 🤤 Having said that. This would make an awesome second bike. It's too focused to be your only option, but in combo with a Transition Spur... now you are talking!
I've been waiting on the Norco Sight C2 I ordered last November and have gotten nothing but a run around from the rep. I cant believe you were able to get your hands on one of the new Range. I would think it would be atleast 2023 before anyone but the sponsored pros could get one.
Next bike for sure it's a beast built for the shore but they need to fix the cable rattle from within the frame is where is sounds like it's coming from the noise is so annoying.
For what you ride I would definitely say no for the Norco range just because it's so long. It looks like a fun bike park bike but you started to shift towards a little bit smaller bikes to get a little bit more mobility. I like the look of it a lot and I'm sure it's a fun bike but for an everyday bike I wouldn't choose that as my first bike. I would probably go with the altitude. I have a rip-mo and it is awesome for pedaling and just a lightweight fun bike to ride. I wish it was tracking a little bit better in the rear but I'm going to adjust my compression and rebound a little bit and see if that helps. Good video
The linkage hanging below the bb bothers me. I'd definitely smash it on things. I'm also not convinced on the high pivot design for my trail bike. For a race bike sure, but I don't care about having the absolute fastest bike. I want my bike to be playful and be able to boost off everything with ease even if it's not the fastest way down.
Yeah this is a race bike. One of the fastest out there. If you want a playful bike, go for an Optic. If you want a bit more travel, get a sight. Both playful
It's for sure a race bike. If you want a playful bike, don't get this. This also isn't a trail bike really, as Nick noted it's basically a pedalable DH bike haha
Just got a Norco fluid FS 1, it has a rockshox pike and a Shimano XT detailer which is awesome for the price. Picking it up in a couple of days, hope this bike was the right choice:D
You would have the corner on the market if you compared it to your Enduro! No one has mentioned how they stack up. All the superlatives for the 2020 enduro mode are the same in the reviews, yet it feels like the range is just “more”
This is a better bike in my opinion. The Endero has a flaw that allows rocks to get stuck in the rear linkage/shock that can Crack the frame, linkage and damage the shock.

Hey Nic, great video. How would you say the Range compares to your old Enduro? It seems like they’re pretty similar bikes on paper, and I was wondering how you think they compare on the trail.
Nice bike but it sounds like they didn't do the tube in tube cable routing that many other companies are putting in their bikes. I solved the rattle in my bike by getting a pack of home heating vent filters at my local Home Depot and stuffing them into the down tube. They weigh nothing and now the cables don't rattle anymore.
If air can pass through the filter so can water, so you might have a bit of a heavy mess on your hands when things get damp(?). Pipe insulation seems to do the trick and it won’t soak.
