    1990's Nirvana had that incredible guitar tone. 1991 had a more punky vibe probably due to more Nevermind material but the shows from 1990 were so raw, its incredible

    They were playing so tight at this time. They were truly gelling as a band then shortly after this Chad Channing left and the band had to regroup and find another drummer.

      @@eckhardt76 It was on April 21st and not the 19th of 1990 at SENIOR HOUSE, MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. I remember the cops came in to close it down as it was after curfew.

      supposedly the footage from their TT's show in 89 is floating around on rapidly deteriorating VHS
      dj chris from manray had a MASSIVE collection of media on old broadcast tapes but who knows where they went or if theyve been transfered or even if he kept live recordings beyond the goth bands

    Dave did somewhat change the drums on InBloom and Breed. And for the better. In fact it actually changes the whole dynamic of the song. Dave was just way more suited for this band than I thought

    "Venus" was also a Shocking Blue song so I think you know they must be good song writers much like Bob Dylan when Bananarama and Nirvana both do pretty great cover versions

    Great video! Floyd the Barber yes. Just needs more tape head cleaner. And maybe Mr. Moustache. Hopefully that's not the tape. But then it might be, it's always a surprise with tape (or hopefully it wasn't the recording head but then it might have been....)
    Alignment looks pretty good though so I'm gonna guess this is not VHS. Thought maybe it had some tint issues but no that's just the house lighting hard to tell with NTSC

      They headlined at MIT Senior House. It was their 3rd Boston area show. The First was July 1989 at Green Street Station, 2nd was the above show at ManRay. Cheers

      nah its the surroundings, manray was a fuckin' awesome dark dank spooky goth pit that had whatever kink you were into and the sound for live bands sucked because it wasnt usually a live venue
      the crowd knew that and they were just having fun
      it was the last days of shitty old boston and it was awesome
