Quality, very refreshing, raw energy, real band, tight and wonderful .
I still remember the first time I heard this song, on the tube on my way to see a friends gig, and thinking from the first moment I heard it, that it was one of my favourite songs I’ve ever heard.
Auto-tuned, vo-coded, homogonised, anodyne dance-move muzak (or what passes for pop today) generates millions of views a day; absolutely brilliant, original music with real instruments and singers like this generate a tiny number of views. Music is in a sad place in many ways, but this song reminds you of what real music can be and brings nothing but joy. Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end.
How is music in a sad place? You have access to more music than any time in history. You have more control of what you listen to than ever before. Why does it matter what other people listen to?
I never get comments like this, pop music has always been shit. Only difference is now most people who complain that “music isn’t what it used to be” can’t be bothered to go out and find new stuff and just listen to the same 5 bands
