Shame they don't play songs from that record live much anymore. Regardless, this video was really great. The soloing was perfect, all the notes were to the letter, and even when you took your hand off the bridge to flip a page or what have you, you kept it going with one-handed taps. Truly above and beyond. Hats off to you. \m/
I'm an older thrasher myself. You ever get a little tendinitis in your elbow? The young kids don't understand how brutal a few hours of this can be after 30 years. LOL awesome job!
I developed tendonitis from years of playing.. dealt with it for about 2years when my band was really active.. the band ended up taking it really slow for about a year, year and 1/2, and now I have no issues with tendonitis... I am back playing allot again and haven't had any more issues or flare up so maybe giving it some time to heal "cured"it?
Even if this guy played this all wrong, he is so into it, I'd still give it an A+. 14:50 on is one of the greatest runs ever recorded. He's having total fun at this. He wins, all lose.
How the hell did I miss this! Oh My God, I was banging my head full lean over in a chair right when he started banging. The guy proves the album is hard as hell. So much fun. Me 56 years old transformed back to 16.
+oily tick DI is bizarrely ignored. I think its a set of circumstance, a lot of thrash bands were selling out (especially American ones, but also German ones, that Neo-Destruction shit that they themselves say do not count as their discography even if the guitarist remained, one of them anyway), and the fact that when Death Metal came out of the underground as a slightly creepier Thrash Metal into its own style and became very popular, thrash, no matter how maniacally technical and harsh was ignored by some of 'em, thankfully I had my older cousin listen to DI, GHUA and WPB and he likes em now, cos he got into the crust punk/black metal mixture coming from europe so he got to like real hardcore punk too and well, his mind opened, years later. One hell of a show he gave us here. Also some of King's best song are on there, it's a cooperative album, and these are always their best, DiM and GHUA were either Hanneman all the way finding a way to kick ass with his arthritis on the hush-hush, it works to me, but I can find why some don't like it, and GHUA, well, is one hell of a hammer to the head, especially the drums, but Hanneman wrote 2 songs for it, and originally one wasn't even on the original album, was added later "Addict' which is awesome in its Hanneman-only insanity.
FUCK YES!! your passion is so contagious, thank you. This album served me well as a teenager when the whole world needed to just back off. I feel about 12ft tall right now \m/ \m/ Cheers brother!!
Enjoyed the energy that you put into it! Like a live performance. Obviously you really enjoy Slayer :) On another note, I have no fucking clue why Divine Intervention gets a bad rap from the hardcore fans who say "Seasons in the Abyss was the last great Slayer album". Divine Intervention is no slouch of an album. On some songs, Tom is ripping his vocal chords apart, and he never sang like that on any other album IMO. And just look at those riffs....not generic or lazy like some people claim. I feel the bass is a bit better produced on this album than on the previous 3 (RIB, SOH, SITA). It's not that buried in the mix as before. It's an intense album. I guess they were just missing Dave Lombardo. Still, Bostaph has done an admirable job stepping into Lombardo's big shoes.
I go all the way back. Divine Intervention, Diabolus In Musica and God Hates Us All are my top three. So utterly brutal and violent, all three. Slayer never disappoints, and neither does this dude.
Excellent! You're showing the brilliance that is Divine to those weirdos who kind of ignore it or the kind that totally stopped listening to thrash so to them Slayer ended with Seasons. Although I give you a 95%, very few errors, I maybe counted 2, but what was the most annoying (although it might have been addressed before) is all the times you leave your guitar (thats where some of the errors I noticed happened most) to do god knows what, changing page of a tab/music sheet, changing tuning inside the same song (? I'm most likely wrong here, cos it doesn't sound like it, but if its your strings de-tuning this fast, you might want an anti-detuning bar. Also the liberties you took with that solo at the end of Mind Control (awesome song, like most of the album, I can play some Slayer songs minus the very difficult to learn solos in some of them, but most DI songs are fast as hell and it was one hell of a spectacle to see you nail em, that's why I wanted you to do the actual picking of the rhythm at the end of Mind Control, a song they started playing live again, now if they would only play Divine Intervention (the song), now that Bostaph is there, when I see them before they obviously break up (the touring for this last album might be long and extensive, also, I hear how they want to tour each of their album worldwide once before hanging their guitar), because that song has some of their most amazing solo-ing, it is melodic while being threatening still. Anyway, 95%-97% is my rating good job my left hand path friend.
Your a fucking badass man Destroyer You need a guitar with a Floyd that locks but even without one your are insane man Love your videos Keep them coming
Goddamn. I dont even know what to say. That was fuckin awesome. If you lived in new orleans we would be best friends and we would have our own slayer tribute band. You fuckin rule man. I wish we could jam together. Cheers
Hi, thanks for the time and dedication it takes to record all the albums. I really like the sound you get with the Fender stratocaster. What pills do you carry in your fender strato? in white and black. And what equipment do you use?
I'm really surprised you were able to get that sound through single coil puck ups. They usually sound really thin, regardless of pedal/amp used. Can you put down your setup? Excellent job good sir!!
I'm not 100% positive but I think this guy might be a fan of slayer
Slayer is a fan of this guy
I don't see it 😆

Want to be my neighbor ?
Killed it man. Good job. And to the haters about slayers guitar solos, shut up. They are musical. Your just not cool enough to understand.
Thank you so much.
I'm an older thrasher myself. You ever get a little tendinitis in your elbow? The young kids don't understand how brutal a few hours of this can be after 30 years. LOL awesome job!
look at guys like Gilbert, Malmsteen etc. If u get stuff like this it's because of the wrong hand positioning or 2much tension
My hand hurts all the time from playing to much metal, but I’ll always play metal

Heaviest Slayer album. And the second most underrated. Good job.
Beautiful album
What's the first?
How the hell did I miss this! Oh My God, I was banging my head full lean over in a chair right when he started banging. The guy proves the album is hard as hell. So much fun. Me 56 years old transformed back to 16.
You've made me appreciate the technical side of that album (my personal favourite) even more mate. Thank you ;)

Divine Intervention is a fantastic album. One of their best releases and better than Seasons imo.
