Jenny, I love you so much! I enjoy your authenticity and cute phrases, such as "on the struggle bus." I can so relate with many of my newly planted perennials not on irrigation. I do feel part of your flower family. Same with all my friends I follow on RUclips. Yesterday, I went to get some more Land & Sea at my garden center when I ran into the DIL (and her mom) from another RUclipsr, Harmony Hills. I'd JUST watched that Jenny's latest video from their trip to Minnesota where she showed us the blank slate of a garden of her son's and daughter-in-law's new home. I'll be honest, I had to check my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. Beth and Judy and I talked as if we were old friends. We bonded over hydrangeas, of course. 😊 I am so impressed by the growth of your berm project. I, too, can't wait for that third year. What an explosion of color that will be. Good to know Japanese beetles like plum trees. I was considering getting a KF cherry plum tree if I couldn't find a 'Jane' magnolia (found her sister, 'Ann') for my front yard project. It's bad enough they like my DA roses, I don't want to encourage them to my yard with more food.
The property development at Gardening with Creekside and Garden Answer over the last few years has been instructive and entertaining. We watch both almost every day and have incorporated several of y’all’s ideas, suggestions, and plants into our gardens. Living in east TN, we always check with you before introducing a new (new to us) plant(s) into our landscaping. Thank you and keep posting. - How about a chicken and chicken coop update?
Jenny thank you for sharing your gardens with us I have learned so much watching all your videos. Would love to be your assistant and gofer. Alas I’m 80 but I know how to work Fortunately I’m still mowing and gardening mostly on my own. Developing 2 acre of hillside with a new home. About five years now. Red clay. Just wanted to say you’ve helped me immensely in choosing plants etc. from Fly Ohio Along Ohio. River!
Jenny, I hope no one judges us as gardeners by the appearance of our first-year gardens ❤ we know everything will fill in, flourish, and inspire us all.
Jenny, The berm looks wonderful! It is filling in so well! On the subject of vines for the fence - Native Passionfruit (Passiflora incarnata) has a few cultivars and is a deciduous vine that blooms from spring - fall and has a wonderful floral smell.I have "Incense" as well as our local vine (wild). Its a host plant for several butterfly species, bees love it, as do hummingbirds, and the flowers are extremely intricate; plus - it doesn't seem to be plagued by any diseases here, though it is susceptible to a few. It is a VERY vigorous vine that can grow 30feet in a season but has tendrils that will naturally reach and grab on to a structure. It might be an option if you like that type of thing. I have 4 species of passiflora down here in the deep south. Incarnata is hardy to zone 5 I believe. As a plus, the fruit can be eaten or added to summer tea and is tangy and has a unique flavor. You need at least 2 varieties to produce fruit usually. :)
BEAUTIFUL! It is absolutely amazing that this berm is not even a year old! Seeing the growth & with information you provide gives me ideas & do’s & don’ts for my space. I admire your hard work as I know what high humidity & DEWPOINTS (zone 8b S-MS 😓) feel like even on cloudy days ! Bless You & Thanks!
I loved this walkthrough with the music. It would be fun when you do the other garden tours (which I love by the way) if you ended the talk through of the garden with some quiet, music walk through at the end. It’s so peaceful.
Berm is beautiful 😍, the deer at my raspberry beret 😭...I'd still think you need a birdbath or 2 in your berm to go with bird houses enjoyed this visit!!
The berm is looking so beautiful! I couldn't believe it when you said there had not been any irrigation for it all of this time!! Now that it has the water, I can't even imagine what it will look like in the next 2 years. I can relate to wanting to see it in it's 3rd year. I had planted some landscape roses and they looked so little for 2 years and the 3rd year they exploded to being 4' tall and wide, with continued blooming all season long. I do prune the dead clusters and I think that helps. I am also watering them each day (irrigation) for 30 min with line openings every 6". It's supposed to give off 1/2 gallon of water per hour and they seem to be doing fine. How long and often does your irrigation run? You clearly have great success and I would like to make sure I get the same result. We are in Chicago, with very heavy clay soil. I have been adding compost every year to amend the soil, but it still is heavy clay. Since you too have the heavy clay, I thought I would ask. Thanks so much for showing us how the berm is doing. It is so pretty! Take Good Care.
I have been watching this project since day 1. What an amazing transformation it has been, it reminds me my ow berm, which I shared pictures with you last year. The fence does it for me !!! Love it a lot !!! A+++
It’s soooooo beautiful! I bet you just pinch yourself some days when you stand back and gaze at your incredible estate. Thanks for giving us so much inspiration and something lovely to enjoy.
I planted a Winecraft Gold last year and it will have tripled in size by the end of the season and be about 5 ft tall. I am also super pleased with that plant. I have two of the Winecraft Black as well and they are not nearly as impressive.
So enjoyed this. I am trying to plan a new garden bed in zone 3b. Nice to see all the plants you talked about. Gives me some ideas of what I would like to use in my zone. 😊
I love the garden!! I have a neighbor who is trying to talk me out of using mulch. I see how yours looks and I plan to go ahead with it. Yeah!! Take care!!
Looks beautiful! I have to admit I love the entrance side of the berm more. Which surprised me! I thought I’d love the mass planted side towards the house. Even though the color is beautiful of course. There is just something about the structure on the house side that just doesn’t do it for me. I’m amazed at the lavish look of color and growth truly is satisfying. It has just been so satisfying watching the progress on both sides of the fence. I have been especially curious to see how both sides will look I have an area that in the fall I will finally get to pay some attention to. Therefore, I wanted to see how the structure side did as opposed to the entrance side for ideas. So watching how this has taken shape has definitely given me ideas and clarified what I want to do!!! My strip is narrower but over two hundred feet long and has a tree line behind it. So I think the look on the entrance side of your berm is the look for my area. At the end of the day Jenny, the berm has really turned out to be something very spectacular and will just continue to impress for years to come. Thank you for sharing ❤
Everything is looking so healthy and beautiful! It’s amazing how far this project has come so quickly. Seems like your perennials went straight to “leap!”
Just lovely! I watch and enjoy all of your videos. Although in a different state, planting zone and humidity are the same, so I’ve learned so much from you. Thanks so much!!!🌸🌿🙂
It looks gorgeous! And I've gained more wonderful ideas for some coordinating plants. I picked up 2 Dark Horse weigelas that were on clearance at a nursery here in Charlotte and have been trying to figure out coordinating plants to go with them. Got some wonderful ideas to look for during my next monthly trip to Creekside. :)
Thank you for posting this video! Such a great way to start my day- drinking coffee and touring the berm! Also, I couldn’t agree with you more about the Tuscan Gold Heliopolis. I got one in 2022 and was shocked by how it performed nonstop! I added three more to create a drift of gold.
Very inspirational garden, I had to pause this video and run out and buy some plants and get them into the ground. Can’t wait until you all start shipping. Thanks for sharing.
Wait until your Eucomis blooms!! I had one in my garden that I picked up on clearance one fall. I really couldn’t find any growing info on it or even what it’s bloom was supposed to be like, but after I saw it I had to find more! Wouldn’t you know, that fall two more ended up in the clearance section! Best $9 ever spent! I now have a lovely trio and they are wonderful! Zone 5/6 in Ohio, heavy clay, and full sun. Even did well being transplanted!
Thanks for the up date. It is looking really good. So much work but it is really paying off. I want to tell you how much I appreciate your mention of the PW Signature Garden in Pinehurst. It was my good fortune that i drive here from Kernersville for the weekend for a visit with a fellow gardener. After you said during your video a couple days ago that there was a Signature Garden in Pinehurst i knew we would have to check it out. Well it is spectacular! For all the years i lived in this village i never saw the plantings looking so impressive. The timing of your video on Signature Gardens was a perfect coincidence with my trip. Who would have known. ☺️ Susan
Hi! I love to watch your videos! I was wondering if you could put the name of the plant on the screen while you are talking about it. It would help those of us not as familiar with plant names! :)
Beautiful. Love the variety and how it all ties together including keeping in mind the change of season. I am also NC zone 7b. This year I have had enormous trouble with Sow Bugs. They love my Agastache Poquito and I've lost 3 of the 7 I planted. Nothing I've tried has worked, including diluted spayed castor oil, neem oil, etc. I wanted to plant more next spring but now I'm wondering if I'll be wasting my money. I was wondering if you have also been battling these little nasties. I've heard this has been a bad year for these critters.
Love the Pink Cascade butterfly bush. I transplanted my Lavender Cascade butterfly bush. Mine was mad at me too. It’s blooming, but not as well as last season. I think it will be fine after it gets done pouting.
Great job,Great plants. I was hoping to hear about how the black lace elder berry is doing in our climate.could you please give us an update on both the lemony and the black elder berries? Thank you 🙏🏻.

Absolutely Beautiful gardens! Question on irrigation layout used as I will be setting up a similar bed (much smaller scale tho 😊) …Is your irrigation set up using 1/4 inch with drip along the line for the mass plantings weaving around the plants? Were individual emitters used for trees?
The berm is gorgeous! The popular saplings made me think of a question. I have an ugly bush that sends out runners that I plan on removing and this yucky wild thorny vine that also sends out runners. What is the name of the solution you put on runners to stop their growth?
It’s all looking so good! I’m still dealing with Japanese beetles as well 😖but I love all the colors and it will definitely be beautiful as it matures!

I love that!
I can hardly wait for my Unique Stone bench to come in so I can come shopping at Creekside again. Wow, do I have a list. Great review of the berm!
Breakfast tea with Jenny…..enjoying Creekside’s gardens! Love ❤
Yes, every time I see Jerry’s creation I get hungry for watermelon! Lol
Love the tour of the berm

Looking good! Thinking of a berm for our yard😊
Go for it! It’s been a lot of work, but SO worth it!
It’s looking beautiful…I like the way you leave some negative space with mulch. It makes the plants stand out and shine.
It was so fun and interesting watching yo guys develop the berm from the start! It really looks amazing!!! 🙂

Beautiful 👍
Beautiful beds! I'm in Charlotte - this summer has been insane for Japanese Beetles - any recommendations?
Hi Jenny! The berm is looking so beautiful! I’m on the hunt for plant labels. Which ones are you using? Thank you!
These are from Kinsman Garden Company
Can we talk about the Arborvitae’s? Beautiful! Do you have a twin/triplet plant in #2 from the road?
Great job,Great plants. I was hoping to hear about how the black lace elder berry is doing in our climate.could you please give us an update on both the lemony and the black elder berries? Thank you 🙏🏻.

Further below she answered another's same question. Kinsman.
@@Edu_Kate appreciate it, thanks!
Jenny, could you please publish the list of plants you have in this bed?

Yes. I thought I read they usually are done doing their damage by end of June. 🪲
I guess they didn't read the same article. 😏
Hello! I have been enjoying your channel getting some great ideas for my garden! much appreciated! One question about the Butterfly Bush I am considering it but found several articles about this plant that it was envasive and warnings about planting it. do you know anything about this claim? is the PW variety a better cultivar? I love the look of the plant but don't to have problem on my hand if I don't need to. I live in south central Arkansas (8a) much appreciated!
Shasta Daisys - you trimmed it all the way to 10 inches or just deadhead the stems? Mine aren't flushing back fast at all.
Hi 👋 Jenny
This berm is so pretty. When you planted this did you list the plants you used in the description box? That’s always so helpful.
What kind of pine is that?
Butterfly bushes are very late to bloom
Where can I get the mulch you use?
We have it for sale at our nursery
Is it in bags or bulk? I need a lot.
@@dougellis2736 it is bulk, we sell it by the yard
Barberry atract ticks and are not recommended by Rutgers university
You definitely need a gate to your property. Preferably with an alarm. No one needs to be on your property
