Great to see the silage harvest in action! Love the makeshift pit and how you’re managing the whole process. Can’t wait to see how the cows will enjoy this!

I am sure there is some dirt contamination and some wastage with the silage.
Is it not cost effective to line the pit or walls with plastic?

@rajbeekie7124 Very costly and time consuming. Some pits have concrete walls. We may have one some day!

I enjoy watching corn chopping videos . I farmed for many years
I knew a Woodbury family farm close to me but they had to relocate because of the Melvin lake but had to relocate
I used to know the area because I went to school with a relative of the Woodbury's . I just noticed your channel and I just subscribed

Same family. We moved to north of Quenemo in 1968. Still have some land the government didn't take for the reservoir down at Olivet

@@HowardWoodbury Ok I didn't know . I can tell you the farmer if you want . Thanks for the info . You have a great channel .

@@kennethcarlton2860 yes I would be interested in knowing who you worked for. I am 58 so I was 3 when we moved out but I know lots of names and stories from my Dad and Granddad so there wouldn't be many people from down there I haven't met or heard of

@@HowardWoodbury I was working for the Lohmeyer family who lived north of the home place at the bottom of the steep hill . The Croucher family were some of your relatives I think . I went to school with Michael Croucher and he had hogs near the end of the driveway . We graduated from highschool in 1968 . I hope that helps you . I was in farming for over 45 years , after highschool and the summers before that I worked for my uncle south of Lebo . You're 7 years older than my daughter . lol she lives near Kansas City Missouri

@kennethcarlton2860 yes I know of the Lohmeyer family. They moved south of Lebo I think. I knew Walt and Eunice Mochamer who were Sam Crouchers parents in law. I know Sam's daughter Rena and her husband Joe LaRue. Sam must be Michael's son also?
