I literally wrote my high school thesis on how he fuses European and Asian musical elements in his score. Hisaishi is easily the best composer of the past 40 years.
Now if you dont mind, would it be okay for me to reed it? Just a big fan that has been studying his materials for a couple of years now, sounds interesting what you got there!
Joe Hisaishi is the magician behind the sound of my childhood. Apart from Doraemon's theme song, his scores are the next pieces that always brings me back to childhood.
It’s like ending of the film, and the start of a new beginning. And the characters are giving their final words on what could possibly lie ahead. Scene takes place up on a hill or a boat. Sun is setting, wind is blowing. Hands in pockets and looking across the horizon. And maybe one is crying because one of the characters pass away. The Wind Rises or Poppy Hill comes to mind.
@@motorola9956 whatever you wanna call it, i personally love the game for what it is and yeah it does indeed work well. definitely shouting out how amazing the composer was in making the official soundtrack for the game combining chinese traditional instrumentation in a western orchestra
I swear this guy can do whatever genre he want and it'd sound amazing. Especially that 5:51 woodwind part paying the respect for Merry go round from Howl's moving castle
Actually his best and most original work is not the fairly straight ahead and sometimes sappy piano+orchestral work that anime fans seem to know him for, but rather the work he's done scoring many Takeshi Kitano films, which are much darker in tone than any Ghibli film. In some of those he uses some of these same methods AND all sorts of other ones, unusual instrumentation and techniques, that's far more compelling to me than the stuff on display here, and I think, quite hard to emulate. Check out especially his work on Sonatine and Kids Return.
Too coincidental; yesterday I was watching another video of you and afterwards I listened to a concert of Joe Hisaishi. You are truly talented and I think you nailed Joe's sound.
Dunno why, but the composition feels a bit too rushed for me... it somehow placed your composition in an uncanny valley of Joe Hisaishi music style. Anyone feels the same?
wow. this track actually feels like Hisaishi !! you have some great sounds there, and obviously the musical knowledge needed to properly arrange them. I just subscribed and hope the algorithm throws me more of your stuff at appropriate timings ~
This music felt like watching a Ghibli movie that isn't out yet
I'm pretty sure that's the point

when will you be doing How to sound like Craig Connelly/Bryan Keanery/Paul van Dyk? I really want to see you do uplifting trance.

Huge cinematic studio fan here as well. The entire song was cinematic studio
you set up your statement as an objective fact when it was totally subjective lmfao
And this is why I still play the piano after high school.
Me being a percussionist make me like drums a lot, but this not having drums makes the song feel so much more relaxing.
At first I thought it sounded like Ni No Kuni's soundtrack, but then I realized Joe also composed the music for that game.
This was my thought as well!!
Well duh, the designs and the art for the game were desgined by Studio Ghibli as well
