They did a remarkable job making such large, recognizable, detailed sprites on the C64. Amazing anyone got through this one in the day without a walkthrough, though.
This version looks like it runs a lot smoother than the DOS/Amiga versions. The graphics aren't as good, obviously, but to those who have played both this version and the DOS or Amiga version - does the control respond more smoothly as well? I could never get very far in this game before getting frustrated due to the control lag.
Awesome play! But for everyone seeing this game for the first time, I recommend checking out the run of the amiga version (also on youtube), because it was so much better... much creepier, and such beautiful artwork.

What's the heart rate thing for?
Every time you get hit in combat, the heart rate goes up, I assume. If you get hit too many times, your character suffers a heart attack.
