I’m not sure if you will see this but, I know exactly how you feel, my dad passed away to cancer about 3 weeks ago and watching your videos does genuinely help me get through the day/ week. I don’t really speak to close people about it but watching you talk about how you feel makes me feel better almost as if I was talking to you about it.

Hi Gemma. I think you made such a good point about how we only see “snippets” of your life and that doesn’t mean your friends are out of the picture. I must say I have deffo wondered where/how Sophie is just because we love her too but wouldn’t presume that means you have fallen out. It’s great to see you so happy and well supported despite everything going on in your life and I’m sure your dad would be very proud of you. X

I meant to comment on your vlog about your dad. I can totally relate because my father passed away from pancreatic cancer and my family and I watched his health decline over time and it was difficult each day because as you said, it wasn’t a matter of if he was going to pass away but when. I was a huge daddy’s girl and it pained me everyday to watch him suffer. I remember having days where I felt guilty for eating and guilty for enjoying my life. I realized it was not how he’d want me to live my life but I still struggled with those emotions. When he passed away, while we were extremely sadden, we were relieved that he was no longer suffering and as you said, he’s in a much better place. I had moments for many days, weeks and years where I’d cry because I missed him but the great memories I had of him got me through those days. You’ll have moments where you’ll grieve for your father. My advice to you, allow yourself to grieve. There’s no timetable on how long it should last so don’t apologize for it and don’t make excuses for why you’re feeling sad. Just know you’re loved and thought about.

"Realistically no one wants to watch sad videos" - bullshit. Sure, probably no all the time, but every now and again: YES. Because it makes you closer to your viewers, makes you one of them and makes them see your soul as is. Those are the most special and raw videos that make someone on the other side of the screen, going through exact same thing, to think: "I am not alone in this!" And those are one of the most healing words you can ever tell yourself. You will always subconsciously suspect, that yeah, someone out there is probably feeling the same, but seeing it, hearing it, is a whole other powerful experience.

that's true but I get what she means- for someone who's dealing with grief and depression and goes to RUclips for an escape, if I see my fav youtubers basically going through the same thing, honestly I don't watch the video that day and save it for a day I'm feeling better. Otherwise it makes me feel worse.

I lost my dad as well suddenly and it’s been ten years and I still have moments like omg he’s not here ..... time heals it’s still very soon and I think when a loved one is so sick as sad as it is they are best in no more pain.....memories will flood you from time to time but you somehow become accustomed to it as life will keep you busy and think of it like would he want you to be sad and crying all the time ? No. He’d want you to keep moving forward.... accomplish your goals and keep a smile on your face and love those around you. 🤍

Grief is a process and you allowing yourself to be sad when you need it is healthy as long as you don't unpack there. Be gentle with yourself. Yes I miss Sophie! Jaimie and you seem very healthy and in love. Tillie is the bomb!

My dad suddenly passed away during lockdown + we had to have a Covid funeral. Most traumatic experience of my life. I only had 2 days off, sometimes keeping working/filming is a helpful distraction 💓👑

So glad you're coping well Gemma ❤ you will probably always have sad days, I lost my Dad to cancer when I was 11 and I still have those days where I could just curl up and cry all day but the frequency of those days does actually lessen with time. I love your positive attitude towards manifestation, I truly believe if you want something bad enough you can make anything happen xx
