I'm a jazz/ballet dancer....but there were some fascinating ripples in these movements. This style of dance really is essentially very rhythmic ripples combined with isolated movement, harder to see from a distance. More appreciated up close. Stage dance is larger movement/steps designed to be seen from a distance.
Sometimes we wear fun costumes to play with those limitations. For example tassels on the chest or hip make it so we can do a subtle isolation, yet the costume moves more than the body, which makes it visible for people watching the stage. :)

Belly dance is the king of all dances, its the oldest style in the world and many forms use belly dance moves incorporated and made into their own style. I am learning both belly and street dance and the similarities are striking. Love both of em ❤️

I know it is the same guy, but the one in black, because of the pants that puffs out on the sides, looked better when he was doing the hip movements for the belly dancing. I do like belly dancing better than poppin. I also like Bali dancing.
