2021 Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD review. This, or the Ferrari F8 Tributo?

  • The 610ps Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD is the 2-wheel drive version of the Huracan, which also happens to be £30,000 cheaper than the 4WD 640-4 Evo model, making it the cheapest Lamborghini on sale today. What I wanted to know was could it be even better to drive than the Ferrari F8 Tributo, as well as being a bit of a bargain?

Part of the Add Personum pallet as a pearlescent paint instead of just metallic fleck. These paints look “Grand” in person and really stand out in the real world. ~£11k is a ton for paint but if ever a paint was worth that kind of money it would be this one. The Miura he talks about was the one-off Spyder version Lamborghini takes to shows and their museum. A quick search online will show you those early versions of metallic paints with their massive confetti sized flecks lol

Looks fabulous, we have a few Huracans around here in Boston USA and they are certainly the best looking lamboghini’s. Driven R8’s but not a Huracan, but was left with the impression that the R8 was like driving an A4 as everything was too easy. The Huracan strikes me that the lambo treatment has created something more special on the same platform/engine combo.

I recieved two fortune cookies from my meal so I chose one.. and it said "Your kindness will bring you happiness". Later on we were chillin on Woodward and I seen a 2021 Lamborghini Evo AWD run out of gas so I helped him push it to the pump. He offered to let me drive and I almost said no, It was an experience I'll never forget. I didnt just do the speed limit, he let my put my foot to the floor and oh my, I look back and realize I could've lost my license so damn fast. I had this thing doing 90 in what felt like 4 seconds. It's what a driver really wants: the sensory experience. High-powered four-wheel drive cars with all the technical controls to avoid you being dead is one thing and the silent surge of the Tesla is another. A car with sound that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck is what you want, with a steering wheel that transmits the road grip and surface to your fingers so you are part of the process. That's why people like buying classics with little, or maybe no depreciation and genuine and real enjoyment. Won't be many cars like this from now on.

I really enjoy watching your videos. However it would be even more fantastic if they were only 20% inside the car and 80% outside videos. I don’t like tuning in to see you inside the car for most of the videos. But I do appreciate your knowledge and passion.

Love how it was keeping Harry on his toes.
A time to congratulate the company for bringing out the Urus. Plonk in the 4.0 Twin Turbo V8 and sell a heap of them (which lets be honest, most lambo customers will probably have one of those too), bringing their overall sales emissions down to ensure they can still produce the crazy stuff.

Great video Harry. The competition and the Lamborghini are all “to fast”. So the NA engine’s sensory experience makes the choice easy.

I can relate to the Cognac situation. A can of special brew once burst in the boot of my Ford escort. For weeks every time I opened the boot it smelt like a tramp had been sleeping in there.

I'm not sure I would have dared to pick this color but it does look incredibly cool.
The red accents on the brakes and on the seats don't match very well with the blue of the bodywork though. Some guy at the lamborghini dealer must be colorblind.

Admittedly I am a couple of inches taller than Harry but I am really surprised that he found it comfortable. I drove one last year and had to tilt my head to fit!
The McLaren 570 feels like more of a competitor to the Huracan than the 720. I'd like to see a comparison of the two.

    One comment:
For a fixed cylinder capacity, long stroke does NOT increase torque! Because, for a fixed swept capacity (520.4 cc in the case of this 5.2l V10) if you increase the stroke, to keep the same capacity, you must reduce the bore, and torque is the product of cylinder pressure x piston area (proportional to bore) x crank pin offset (half of stroke). So for any given cylinder pressure, as the stroke goes up (more leverage) the total force on the piston goes down (same pressure but over less area!)
The reason people say "small bore engines make more torque" is actually because small engines make less power, which makes them feel "torquier". This is because power is fundamentally limited by the total valve area, ie how mauch air can the engine ingest as it spins. Big bores mean you can fit big valves, big valves means lots of air, to which to add lots of fuel and make lots of power. However when not at peak power revs, at lower speeds, there is more time for cylinder filling (at 3500 rpm there is twice as much time to get air into the cylinder than at 7000 rpm) so you can manage to fill you cylinders with lots of air, and so still make decent torque.
Back in the day, before clever low friction bore coatings and precision optimised piston ring systems, long stroke engines also used to be impossible to rev that high, which again limited power but not torque, today, that is less of a limitation thanks to the near universal two technologies mentioned.
So in summary, if you "stroke" an existing engine, yes, you get more torque, because the capcity is increased, but you don't get more torque because of that long stroke itself!
ok, end of pedants corner, as you were Harry :-)
