    Love the video & idea for using up our scraps. I like the 2 1/2 gallon bags ... Hard to find in my area, but worth it (in my opinion). Can't wait to see your finished quilt. Hugs, Beverly Kiesel

    This is a great block for strings. The color gradation really makes the block. Thank you for another great idea. I had to laugh when I saw your bin for strings and crumbs. My strings alone fill a large laundry basket. I know I really need to do some sewing. LOL

    What a great project! You covered everything from starting, organizing and storing tips.
    I had cut scraps to do a potato chip block and found that I did not like the look at all. I am thinking I might use all those cut pieces to do the paint chip block it will just be a different size. Thanks for another great video.

    Beautiful blocks. Sister Chicks quilting did something similar but then used a 60 degree triangle and made stars for a quilt. I have some strips that I am thinking of using for a 60 degree triangle block for a quilt.

    This is a great idea! I have been avoiding my scraps and I am a bit overwhelmed about how many I have. I like the idea of separating them by color into bags. I’m sure it will make it much easier to manage them. Thanks!

    Beautiful! Your blocks are gorgeous! ✨
    I have the same mental debate you had with the teal block. Sometimes I have to remind myself when I’m stuck on placement that it’s not that serious 😂 If I think about it too much, it would drive be bananas.
    I hope this helps with everyone’s stash-busting! The dimensions and color groups of the blocks aren’t set in stone so just have fun with it!

    • @lessonslearnt5966

    • @lessonslearnt5966
      @lessonslearnt5966  18 дней назад

      Blue is not thrilled this time with the snow. There’s a thin layer of ice halfway through the 8+ inches of snow. Makes for a difficult run through the snow! But we have areas carved out for him,

    Really like the paint chip idea for blocks, thank you for sharing and I will check out the other video! Question- when you are piecing the color strips together do you press them before you see them together or do you just sew them and then press when the block is completed. If you said in the video I missed it. Thanks.

    • @lessonslearnt5966
      @lessonslearnt5966  13 дней назад

      Usually I press during the process since they’re so narrow. Easier to get the iron in there in pairs rather than the whole block at a time.

      That could be a concern, but I’ve never had an issue with weak seams. Lowering the stitch length is recommended. I use 1.8.

    • @lessonslearnt5966
      @lessonslearnt5966  18 дней назад

      I totally understand. I have sound sensitivities too, but on other things like chewing and tapping. When that happens to me I turn the sound down or off or even skip ahead. On the flip side, some people love to hear those crinkling sounds and consider it relaxing. Thanks for speaking your mind, I truly appreciate it.
