Thanks for the review. One remark: I have learned to always tune from down to up. So if you are too sharp, it would mean to loosen the string again a little bit to flat and come from there again. I also tune starting from the low strings because the bend the neck the most and thereof change the tune of the others a bit.
8:08 The Unitune does not pickup chords or even multiple strings. Tuning multiple strings is only available on the Polytune (hence the names). What you showed there was just the tuner in strobe mode.
Do you still like it? I currently have a Snark SN-8 Super Tight ( It's great ). Does the TC Unitune offer Strobe-mode? I have a TC Polytune 3 on my pedalboard and love it.
Hi! Great review. I just want to ask if this is far more better than any clip-on tuners like snark? I have a snark tuner and it's very frustrating to use it most of the time. I don't want to add a tuner pedal on my board because I'm planning to buy a reverb pedal (My board only has a maximum of 6 pedals). Will you recommend this than buying a cheap tuner pedal?
What is meant, in the promo literature, by- ".5 cents chromatic. .2 cents accuracy strobe? are there two differnent settings available for tuning, each with a different accuracy?
@@8hx64 That's clear enough- 1 setting tunes a chromatic scale, according to the name- what does the strobe setting tune? the diatonic scale? why is their prom literature so inarticulate about this?
Strobe function rocks; is much more accurate. Plus you can strum and see if all strings are in tune at the same time, tuner shows which string is flat or sharp...
Great review Joe -no bullish!t, no super-technical stuff, just your honest observation, which we appreciate.
Cheers John 👍
Thanks, Joe, for this great review. I bought 2 of these - they are by far the best clip-on tuners I've ever used. Worth the extra $$, for sure!

and hes got too many wraps around the pegs and it doesnt look like hes strung the martin way either

Thanks Celina, that’s very kind 🙏
You should start with the low E then A D G B E, the lower strings put more tension and bend the neck pulling thiner strings (if tuned first) out.

At 2:53 he does tell you that!

I think tc do this tuner as a footpedal and it is highly rated. I find it to be a good tuner, don’t know how it compares to your spark.
Snarks are terrible every one i have had broke. the best tuner is the Peterson Strobe.

Not sure, it tunes my guitar accurately, that's all I want it to do

Good one Joe! thanks! what Martin have you got?
In this video 00028EC
Power button is too small and unit turns off at 3 min. Wish I could keep it on long while learning fret board
Just looking at better tuners, and low & behold my friend Joe posted a video on this exact one 😂 Guess I’ll be buying the tuner then.
Yep they are pretty good
And the strobe versus needle function?

What about strobe mode?
finally gets to the review the title referrs to at 2:30
Nice little tuner😀👍
mine polytune sometimes shut's off while i'm tunning this is normal or is broke?
I think they switch off after a couple of minutes, or so
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons not when i'm not tunning he shut's off when i'm tunning not all the time... sometimes
I was wondering if I should get the poly tune or unitune
I don’t think you will be disappointed with either
what is the difference between the two?
How do you tune a bass to Eb?
Tune to D#
How can I get this tuner to display all 6 strings when tuning all 6 down a half step as it displays all 6 in A-440? Thank you Sir!
You can’t, that’s the polytune tuner, this one can only tune one signal at a time
Thanks
35 bucks at sweetwater right nowv 🙂Perhaps you can put an affiliate link in your description
Goof thinking ! Another thing I need to do.
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons start with the low E then A D G B E when you tune, it's the correct way to tune all guitars
It does not do 432 Hz so it is useless to me. TC dropped the ball. Epic fail. I’m going to donate it.
the most overpriced item on the tuner market. not worth it, with money i can actually buy a guitar second hand.
You buy guitars for 20 bucks ?!
