I had been looking for a couple of days to find a video on how to play this but only this one explained well.

I wish I would have found these vids a week ago. I’m trying to get into the table top game with a friend and we are both new to the tabletop version. I grabbed Total War thinking it was all we needed but couldn’t figure out where the mech stats were. So I thought I needed the TechManual and after purchasing that realized we needed record sheets... We are going to use Skunk Werks for those now. I’ve just started this series and I’m looking forward to going through the rest of them. Thanks for putting in the time to help newbs like myself figure this mess out. It is intimidating going in without someone who knows the ins and outs of it with so much content out there to weed through.

Yah it can be a little overwhelming - if you are still up for spending, grab the beginner’s box or a Game of Armored Combat. Both have some awesome minis, record sheets, etc!

Are the record sheets the same info in classic that come with the starter boxes? My understanding was that the new boxed sets were a new simpler board game version?

They do have simplified sheets, but would be enough to get you rolling. Solaris Skunkwerks is easy to use and print out full sheets, and it’s free so also a great option!

BT was the first tabletop I started with some years ago. I have to say that I really liked Classic BT but creating (usable/jumpable) 3d scenery with all these hexes was a pain and ended up with me cancelling all my terrain projects. Trying out Alpha Strike next really opened up my view on this topic. Everything seemed so easy then. Need a Building? Just build it without any restrictions. I just didn't come up with the idea that Classic BT could also be played with "tabletop measurement" instead of "boardgame movement". If I had that idea back then, I think I hadn't#t stopped playing BT. Time to start all over again!

Could you go more into BV (BV 1.0, BV 2.0), what tables are you using ?, I have found the Modifiers for Piloting and Gunnery
