There's a thin line between respect, authority and dictatorship. A man shall leave his mother and father, be joined together with his wife and the two shall become one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. Most family members are out to destroy marriages and that's why it's good to draw a line and know what's more important. Abraham was no way a dictator, he was very loving to Sarah and did as she asked of him out of love. Not dictatorship.
