The first three relic choices he got all had something that would’ve really made it good, whether that was coins adding damage, the goggles, even adventurine
I think the weird noise was orberts story proccing and upgrading the chest rewards to rare maybe. Ive never heard it before despite playing since beta. And the other noise was orberts turning a question mark into a treasure room.
🙏 Hopefully we get a *_"WHHEEUUUPPP"_* in this one 11:20 They _do_ use lasers! There's an especially cool machine that just blasts any weeds it drives over with a super strong laser! We really _are_ living in the future 😎
These low damage orbs really need you to buff the pegs themselves. Tom turned down the goggles, which are one of the best relics for these types of builds. Then again, the randomness of the lasers fired from the orb make this thing trash. There were like 4 throws in a row where the orb fired 5-10 lasers directly into the wall next to it and hit ZERO pegs. The laser should fire toward the cursor IMO. That would at least let you have some control, even if it is wonky. And with the super low damage, it wouldn't be overpowered.
thats to op, you can use durable, you can upgrade pegs, you can use the more damage with less pegs, you can do multi ball, you can do muscircle/spinesse and a lot of stuff more but tom just choose the worse relics for his build jajajaj
@@Kazbeelable Yeah, it's almost like his 100s of hours of Peglin doesn't make him a better player. He doesn't look into what actually works to make pegs good, and just picks the same shit he ALWAYS does and complains when it's weak or doesn't work. LOL
Morbid on top of that possibly so the laser hits all pegs regardless of being refreshed or not. Edit: Tom immediately picked up defresh after I posted 😅
I kinda like the lazer, it's a lot like a Poltorbgeist, but with gambling since it has lower low rolls and higher highrolls where as the Poltorbgeist is just kinda average. Both definitely need some sort of damage buff relics to work though.
In higher cruciball, after there's 1 less crit, it would probably work really well with muscircle if you pick up the Unpretentious Pendant to get rid of the only crit you have
One of the best episodes in a while, can't wait to see the inevitable sequel where that laser gets multiball and spinesse and goes off like a disco ball of death.
I actually think Jupitorb might be much improved if it just always aimed towards the center of the pegboard. That's probably about all it needs, is just, for it to feasibly fire towards pegs, instead of shooting at walls all the time. Alternatively, make it fire a Lasorb, so that it bounces between walls and stuff. But, that might be too strong.
that or each upgrade makes it fire more lasers rather than more frequently. so at lvl 2 it sends one out in the opposite direction then lvl3 it's like 3 at 60 degree angles.
I feel like the Jupitorb would benefit from Durable pegs, too! Just make one of those builds where you fire an orb and then pick up your book and read a couple of pages while it resolves.
I really appreciate you following through on the Laser build, even though it ain't so good... Tom. Honestly, I feel like if the laser didn't ALWAYS hit the wall, it could do something good.
@Anarcho_slimer The spooky audio cue to let you know when it actually does something rather than just vaguely hoping for better odds was also a nice touch.
jupitorb seems made for a refresh build. if you had like 4 refreshes and crits with the shaft potion each laser would be about guaranteed to refresh which means more lasers.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1815 I do like the laser, and can definitely see the potential, especially with a Summoning Circle or Multiball. But, god damn, this was a "build" XD God damn, the Jupitorb's first shot XD, not even it's fault 4:37 IIII mystery chest had a jaunty little tune now :D Ok, 8:59, how am I just now noticing the Frog Will say, Laser is good Vs Leshy. But god damn was Leshy clutch XD OOO, been a while since we've seen the Dense clip :D God damn, poor Laser, you cannot escape the Cheese (and Ring)
I feel like the Jupitorb would be really good with a mirrorb and a refresh build, likely with muscircle or a dedicated crit build. The ball really suffered with Tom's build in this video, but I think it can be really good
It's not so much Spinesse you need, the laser just needs stuff to upgrade the board. Slimes, buffing pegs, anything. It's Ball Lightning, hits a ton of pegs, trading the strength for piercing.
With the combination of multiplying crits, crits refreshing, cookie, and the corn with laser. Tom accidentally made the healing -> ring of pain build he kept mentioning
Any build where Ball Lightning is good, Jupitorb is *absurd*. Also goes nuts with Fleece, the relic that applies Exploitaball, Ballance, even a *little* bit of Spinesse, any sort of peg upgrades... somehow Tom managed to miss almost everything that works with Jupitorb.
oh my god some of Tom's shots this run were just so poor. Jupitorb is great when your build has Ballance, peg upgrades, multiball... literally anything that makes its 1/2 stat more powerful! It helped me beat Cruciball 20. Getting the bell after having the crit duplication potion really scuffed the rest of the run, whole thing was just so messy. Honestly anything that keeps Jupitorb on the pegboard longer makes it happier. Honestly with how many walls were hit here I'm surprised Tom didn't pick up the relic for it when it was in the shop. WHY DID HE SKIP HEAVY HAND!? 😭 It would have helped so much! I guess the density debuff would have really sucked.
Jupitorb falls really flat with the default peglin. Not sure why the devs made it only available for it, rather then spinventor, because the damage can get crazy in the custom runs where I gave it to the Spinventor, though it does rely rather heavily on the board setup
Laser is really good, in a build where you need to hit alot of enemies to give for instance Status effects, or to heal like you have been doing, they are a slow roast build and not a heavy hit build
I feel like if that orb just fired the lasers at the closest peg it would be ten times better. So many lasers just hit nothing that even one extra peg per proc would be worthwhile
I swear the lasers that orb puts out are like heavily weighted to be fired to the left... I feel like that's what's making it shite Edit: Yeah look at that bullshit at 29:23!
When the ring of pain is your carry...... You may need to reevaluate your life choices.😅 The laser is interesting and seems like it wants to be in the middle of the map. Even 50 over 4 foes is 200 but it really needs scaling
This laser build is very flashy, but not very effective. It seems like it's going to do a lot of damage, but then it does 28 damage. It reminds me a lot of Ginyu's Kakarot build.
I feel the benefit of this orb is to hit maximum pegs, so wants to be combined with either raw buffs or peg upgrades.
Yeah it seems like it's a perfect fit for a slime build. Apply slime to pegs, Jupitorb activates large swaths of the board all at once.
Yea swoltorb would probably do wonders.
I think it's just a more chaotic ball lightning
The goggles was the first relic he passed up at the first shop
@@BeraldtheGreat That genuinely made me weep

So many crits can't miss!

Or it needs to make like the description and hit literally everyone.
Honestly all it really needs is to make it fire the laser towards the largest cluster of pegs, most of the time it just fires straight into the wall.
Tom the laser isn’t bad, you just didn’t get the relics that make it go wild. Multiball, and any relics that add to either pegs or ball (Power glove).
That Nosforbatu would've popped off 9:03
I think that laser needs the relic that makes all pegs durable. That way it is hitting a lot more pegs (sort of) and shooting way more lasers.
durable multiball jupitorb sounds like what it needs

The Jupitorb deserves some credit in this build for triggering the Cookie a ton of times, I think
