I think this is the basic ranking list I've seen people do on Nu'est but now it's actually explained. I like the way Jonghyun tends to sing very similarly to his rapping style. It sometimes sounds like border line singing and I think it's really unique. Aron is a damn all rounder, good at everything. His voice has been recently praised for sounding just like the album version and being incredibly stable and it makes me so happy since in the start he got no parts at all. Minki is for real my absolute weakness. He is only a SUB vocalist in Nu'est and has proven to be as good as some groups' lead vocalists. His voice has improved so much and he actually got to sing more while Minhyun was away. (Let's also talk about how his voice ,while not sounding like it, is very growly and I'm- 👁👄👁) I'm telling you, Minhyun's voice could heal wounds. I love his falsetto so much. Many underastimate him as "Being able to only sing ballads" when he has pulled off all the different styles Nu'est have tried. Lastly, Dongho, the vocal legend is capable of so many things. Even if he doesn't sing much you still will be able to remember his voice. He has gotten so much more stable over the years, especially with their choreographies getting harder. Also I would give him credit for the other members getting better too. He has been a vocal coach for another group and has been writing and producing for Nu'est for the last 5 years. Meaning he takes into consideration what they can truly do, how they could improve and how to showcase their skills better. Pledis really said "Do you know what's sexy?🤔 Amazing vocals🤩" (and treating your artists badly but we don't talk about that)

Agree with the ranking. Baekho's vocal is unique and powerful. That's also explain why he is the main vocal in the group. In general, NU'EST is a group with good vocalist. Also Baekho is street-casted but it turns out not only being the main vocal, but also main producer (composing & writing lyrics) for his group.

Thank you so much for doing Nu’est! Baekho’s voice always sounds like a warm hug to me. It’s one of those voices you can pick out easily since it’s so unique. There was a time where there was fear he wouldn’t be able the sing the way he did because he developed Vocal fold nodules. He underwent surgery to have them removed in late 2014 I believe. Unfortunately this was also during the time Nu’est was struggling to get noticed as a group and it was a tough time for the guys. But thankfully he managed to make a full recovery and is still the amazing power vocal that he is :)

I put it off as well, but it was mostly because it sounded like they hadn't found their sound early on. I'd say ever since Canvas they really came into their own and I've really enjoyed their albums since that EP ^.^
I've started stanning Nu'est since they came back with I'm in trouble and I had a hard time picking a bias. After hearing the clips of Ren singing, I fell in love with him.
i love jr's voice, it's a shame he's always had so little confidence in his singing, in a vlive with minhyun, he wouldn't even casually sing by himself and insisted minhyun sing with him. so the fact he even has singing parts in songs now shows he's become more confident. i love his voice in let's love. i love aron's smooth voice but i agree technically it seems rather limited, but he does seem comfortable singing this way so good for him i guess lol. aron and ren were the only two i was unsure what the rank was, i think early days aron would have been higher? but ren's improvement places him above aron. i'm so glad you acknowledged ren's improvement, i've been thinking it for ages but haven't seen anyone say it so i was so happy. after produce 101, he noticeably improved and i think he's surprised me with every comeback actually. i think he's only going to keep getting better! he wasn't great at debut so the fact he's going to be in a musical now as the lead is such a great improvement! i think minhyun's tone is so gorgeous it allows him to get away with a weaker mix but it's also why he has a weaker mix cos he evidently favours his breathy style. but i think in nuest, it's great because there's a nice contrast between the two best vocalists, baekho does the belting and power belts and minhyun takes the softer falsetto. his falsetto is lovely though. i think the highest he has gone is a5 as an adlib in energetic. baekho's voice is so unique right!? but you're right it isn't sustainable. he got vocal nodules and has had surgery for it previously, i don't know if you saw that when researching. so ever since the surgery, his voice has seemed thicker to me, but the fact he's still belting so high makes me worry a little. he seems to be doing well for now though! also so few people talk about nuest's vocals i've had a hard time finding anything about them so thank you! and i'm so excited for ikon, they're one of my ults! i hope you're including hanbin? they're not a technically strong group but they all sing in rather different ways which i think will make their voices interesting to talk about. if i guess at how you rank them, from bottom to top i'd say hanbin bobby chanwoo dk yunhyeong jinhwan junhoe...let's see if we have the same opinion lol also random question, but i've been wondering if you've seen skz changbin's masked singer performance? i was so impressed by his vocals!!

Love your videos btw :) a lot of ppl on youtube are very careful with criticising groups and idols because of the backlash that usually comes with it, so finally seeing an actual professional being brave enough to give his honest unbiased opinion is greatly appreciated.
Nu'est is a complicated thing for me. I've known them ever since I got into kpop in 2012, LOVED their debut song then completely forgot about them until Produce season 02. I watched it and became a huge wannable (they actually brought me back to kpop) so I care a lot about the boys, esp. Minhyun (LOVE Jonghyun too though). But after w1 disbanded I just can't seem to get into Nu'Est and (I'm so sorry) it's bc of Baekho. His voice gives me so much anxiety I feel like his larynx is gonna pop every time he belts (and he belts A LOT). So yeah, they have all the charm, good songs, charismatic members but I just can't stan :( Minhyun has a beautiful voice but I think his support is very shallow and he relies so much on falsetto he hasn't really developed a mix. I really hope he does bc boy genuinely loves singing, has a beautiful tone and a great ear (he's so good at harmonies). Now I'm curious to see your W1 ranking. I think number 1 is absolutely obvious (I love him) but I'm especially curious to hear what you have to say about my boy Ong Seongwoo who IMO has a beautifulllll timbre but pulls a lot of chest all the time and I NEED HIM TO WORK ON THIS BC I LOVE HIS VOICE. I really hope he does bc boy genuinely loves singing, has a beautiful tone and a great ear (he's so good at harmonies). Now I'm curious to see your W1 ranking. I think number 1 is absolutely obvious (I love him) but I'm especially curious to hear what you have to say about my boy Ong Seongwoo who IMO has a beautifulllll timbre but pulls a lot of chest all the time and I NEED HIM TO WORK ON THIS BC I LOVE HIS VOICE.
