Thank you for this video, Father. In our days, too many Orthodox Christians are quick to point out St Augustine's errors, but few actually talk about his amazing contributions. Blessed Augustine, pray for us!
@@Taydutt13, The Nicene creed has long prevented me from enthusiastically embracing Orthodoxy, specifically the expression of the Trinity. @mdhorton9 what's wrong with how he describes the trinity? Is it like a subordination view or they are three separate gods or what is it about writings upset people?

Geography matters my dear Father Josiah . Please correct me if I am wrong dear father Josiah . When morality descends in a place that the laws governing a place are supportive of immorality and is devoid of all spiritual considerations then that place has surrendered its self to Satan . The lord asked Lot and his family to leave Sodom and Gomorrah before the lord destroyed the whole place with his holy wrath. All I am saying is leaving a Geographical spot when the rule of God has become foreign to it is a biblical concept. Do you agree ? God Bless you and your amazing work Father . I learn so much from your lectures.
Father, shortly after we met at St. George in Palm Desert I too fled CA. Not unusual for me however. Thank you for the reminder. I do question having left for economic reasons mostly whether staying and praying were perhaps the best thing. Lord have mercy.
Thanks a lot father Josiah for your speeches inspired by Holy Spirit. Good Great Lent. In what language is the TRIODION book that you showed? Greetings from Greece to you, your presvytera, your children and the members of your parish. Please pray for us ,poor, though rich in saints and heritage , nowadays tempted Greeks.
I'm at a crossroad. I'm considering attending a Catholic Mass for the first time instead of an Orthodox Christian Divine Liturgy. (I've been to three Divine Liturgies). I know Protestantism/Pentecostal is not the true Church. Every day I do the Orthodox Morning Prayers, every night I do the Orthodox Evening Prayers. ☦️🕊️Burn incense, light candles in front of the Icons of the Most Holy Theotokos Mary and Jesus Christ Son of God.🕯️ Read the Psalter and the Gospels.☦️ Pray the Jesus prayer with my knotted bracelet🙏. I feel close to the Faith but without baptism I feel incomplete, dirty, and worry about my family suddenly dying without us being baptized. 💔 After finding out that i can not be baptized or receive Communion (I can stand in Communion line and instead ask for a "blessing" and the Church Father makes the sign of the Cross over my bowed head, and Blesses me. Same with my 7 year old son...Then we get a piece of blessed bread "Antidoron" (instead of/in place of the gifts) like everyone else). One day, while leaving before the lunch, early, the Father was chrismating a baby, and I asked if he would Bless my son. He drew crosses on both of our foreheads.... That's it though. To be baptized, I must attend every Sunday consistently and wait 1 to 3 years....plus must stay after service to join the other catechumens/inquirers during the Lunch in the basement.... But I'm shy and there is no way I can attend every Sunday. I'm an adult student, with a semi disabled Husband and we have a 7 year old son who's school is problematic, and every Sunday isn't possible. Not for 1 to 3 years straight. 😔 Would it be cheating to attend a Catholic Church just to be baptized? I still don't know if the Orthodox Christian Church would recognize a Catholic baptism or still not give Communion? 🤔
I decided to watch Fr. Josiah again and just saw your comments from only a few hours ago. I can tell you that you would not be allowed to receive Holy Communion if you were a catholic.. unless a priest does something inappropriate. I don't know anything about those strict rules about time and classes. I did not have to do that but i was a church for several years before my reception. Can you talk to your priest about your situation? Maybe you could ask advice from another priest. I don't know what Fr. JOSIAH would advise you. ☦💝📿💝☦
@@lindaphillips4646 I'm emailing my Church Father right now. It's been half a year, but I want to take Lent very seriously this year and participate. I will give him an update, let him know I've kept my prayer rule but am wanting to be baptized.
