I continue to love the Manhattan Transfer. However, if the album cover didn't say "The Manhattan Transfer" (AND I know what they look like), I wonder at its depiction. All figures black suited, black anatomies and torso-to-lower extremity ratios of 3:8; equally tall 6 foot plus, broad shoulders or slinky postured svelte statures, who TMT might appear to be? I conclude this cover is more homage to the musical source whose flavor so seasoned TMT's choice and style of music. No better affirmation, then, to the genesis of American popular music than TMT letting us hear what they like to sing; the cover artist knowing who they should look like.
