One of the big reasons I love this show is because they do not over dramatize stuff. Crossing of the river on a network TV show would’ve been like a 15 minute segment with two commercial breaks dramatic music and stings with Steve tripping and yelling help right before they cut to black.
worst river crossing i've had, my buddy got ball'd by a jumping carp. funny as hell watching him limp the last few feet cussing every fish in the river
@@branchandfoundry560 I didn't mean he was inconsiderate, I actually think hes right. that kind of hunt isn't something you do every day lol. Remi is just a beast and will wake up and do it again the next day without issue
@@branchandfoundry560 anyone with an ounce of common sense knows Steve is saying that as a compliment. Had he said "this is so easy anyone could do this on a weekly basis" Not only would he be lying but also suggesting what Remi does is easy. Thanks Steve. I work 2-3 jobs and take care of 5 teenagers. I don't get to go out like I would like. Episodes like this are almost like taking a vacation. I love it!
Only second to remi Warren saying the same thing. Remi is by far one of the worlds top hunters. His podcast is like downloading his entire life experience as a hunter and getting nothing but the absolute best advice you could ask for. Its hard to explain it to be honest.
This is one of the coolest MeatEater hunts ever. Ferrying a Chamois across a fast river in the mountains of NZ, WOW. 👍 And Remi, wow, willing to cross over that river, twice, for Steve and his kill. Good on Remi for offering himself in a dangerous situation, and good on Steve for being willing and able to decline that incredibly generous offer. 👍
What an incredibly taxing hunt that would be. The physical exertion combined with the psychological battle in your head. Your mind is telling you don't cross that river, don't walk on those icy cliffs. Pushing through and seeing success, what an accomplishment. Congrats Steve, great hunt
That moment when Steve recovers the billy is honestly the most moving thing I've seen on this and any other hunting show ever. I was overwhelmed with emotions, crying and smiling at the same time. What a job by the production crew as well. Hunting, writing, camerawork, editing... top notch!
It happened to me this fall on a deer. But it wasn't the safety. I forgot to chamber a round. That clicking sound travels miles. Luckily the deer didn't hear it.
Cody Foster, I've got a Winchester model 88 lever action chambered in .308 and it most definitely does not click if I squeeze the trigger with the safety on.
The tradition of brotherhood is very much alive especially with Steve and Remi! There's nothing better in the world knowing you got a buddy backing you up and willing to do the same work as you would for a common goal. Great job again Steve! You guys are true role models worth aspiring to.
Amazing combination of mountaineering and hunting. This next level adventure hunt is the stuff of my dreams. Keep rocking it guys, you are the two greatest hunters out there, bar none.

This to me was one of the best episodes, they had to work and struggle to walk and stand, rock and ice everywhere, crossing that glacier melt rushing deep boulder-bottomed river was absolutely BEAST. And like below commenter said, the cameramen are total ultra animals, as they have to do double the work just to make it look pretty for us. Best shows I've seen on youtube in a decade, have Rinella. I spend a lot of time there and there are some aspects of that hunt that trouble me, particularly the dodgy river crossing. Much respect to you and Remy for accomplishing a wonderful alpine double, and doing it the hard core way; no chopper, just shanks, and getting it done in country that will kill you as soon as mesmerize you. This is the best thing I’ve seen all 2020, I first watched this on Netflix but only the last seasons... seemed to be all right I figured the context and loved how the show its presented but this is just awesome. This series has kept true and steven has always had a that calmed spirit and several seasons later still loving it and working every step. Thanks for these uploads. 🇲🇽
I think its Amazing that you guys are walking, touching, climbing on millions of year old rocks and you'll probably be the only members of our species to do it in that area. Ever. Pristine wilderness, amazing animals, delicious meals and great fellowship!
Love the video! Had my share of mountaineering adventures when I was in my early 20's and can't stress enough the incredible physical condition you need to be in. It is; however, one of the most rewarding feelings to be so intimately connected to the mountain be it for a hunt or for summiting. For all those looking to get into it please do you research, be as fit as possible, and please be safe! God bless!
Just finished all the seasons on netflix and just found the back catalogue on RUclips, couldn't be happier. loved the hunt in newzeland hope you find your way to Australia one day.

In defense of stand and blind hunters, they don’t have the land mass to roam and hunt, especially in the eastern states where 10- 40 acres is all they have access to.
Was in the middle of watching another long video, now I'm going back to finish that and will watch this after. Just came here to give it the like and comment I know it will deserve. Love this shit!

Yup. They compliment each other perfectly.
Steve: "This isn't something you do every weekend"
Remi: *Starts all over again with new client tomorrow*
