Crazy that Maxwell didn't upload a video relating to the Vietnamese football. But, as you may know on, the Vietnamese football is too busy this summer. After the SEA Games' nightmare, the U-17 disappointed a lot with a dead last place in Asian Cup, losing to Japan and Uzbekistan, and even failed to beat India. There was still the women's team playing in this year's World Cup, but playing in Group of Death with 2 previous finalists (USWNT and Netherlands), as well as newcomers Portugal, won't be an easy task. Vietnam facing USWNT only brought the memories back to when Thailand got destroyed 0-13 in 2019.
I mean that’s to be expected with bad planning. They totally wasted the training camp in Germany last year, fielding a squad with only 3 eligible for this year’s U17 Asian Cup. Our youngsters season is not that long, in fact it’s probably only longer than Greenlandic football season. While Japanese players literally play all year round, Uzbeks still can use those Soviet facilities, Indians doing a long tour to play European U16s (?), there is barely any news about our preparation, just playing some high school teams in Japan. They are not even good.

And when he made substitutions, did he sub out Lletget or Acosta for Adams? No! He took out Musah! Did he put sub in Roldan to play in the midfield for Lletget or Acosta? No, he pulled Weah and put Roldan on the wing! And who did he sub on for Shaq Moore? Yedlin! JFC I'm angry all over again.
@@user-jt4pk8ii4zThe problem with Southgate is that the only ‘great’ team he’s beaten in tournament football, was a declining Germany team at Euro 2020 (2021). Every time he’s faced a team either near or on England’s level, they’ve been eliminated. 2018 World Cup- lost to Belgium twice, and lost to Croatia, 2020 (2021) Euros- Lost to Italy on penalties, 2022 World Cup- lost to France. Every team Southgate has beaten in knockout competition besides Germany and maybe Colombia, have clearly been a worse team than England. Losing to France is fine, but the loses against both Croatia and Italy, were down to Southgate being outclassed tactically. Southgate does get too much hate, and he is England’s second most successful manager ever. Furthermore, the players are an united front for once; however, when you apply context to his achievements, and recognise the fact that every time he’s lost in tournament football it’s because he’s been outclassed tactically, then Southgate needs to improve tactically in order to continue progressing far in tournaments/potentially even winning an international tournament.
@@user-jt4pk8ii4z Firstly, I acknowledged the fact that Southgate receives too much hatred, as well as recognising that he’s clearly England’s second most successful manager ever. However, just because previous managers failed, it doesn’t mean that you should now praise Gareth Southgate to the 10th degree. Previous England managers severely underperformed and failed to meet expectations, whilst Southgate has met expectations by beating the teams he was supposed to beat. Italia 90, and Euro 96 are perfect examples of semi final losses where England lost, but they were the better team, and they weren’t tactically outclassed. If Southgate wasn’t being tactically outclassed every time England faced a team at or near their level, then there wouldn’t be any valid criticism that can be levied against him. Even if England don’t win Euro 2024, as long as they have a deep tournament run, and Southgate isn’t tactically outclassed, then it would no longer be fair to criticise him at that point. I would then turn my attention to the players as there’s only so much Southgate can do (in the specific context outlined above). I also credited him for uniting the players, and never called for him to be replaced. Gareth Southgate deserves to be England manager; but, it’s also true that he needs to improve his tactics against elite opposition, in order for England to actually win a tournament or even reach an international tournament final again.
The Gio Reyna incident is the most Sports in America stereotype event that basically summarizes how spoiled brat Americans with rich parents end up in Pro sports and make it really dramatic and goofy
So the US Federation has to pay the women's and men's coaches the same salary which definitely limited what they could pay candidates it is probably why Gregg is the coach again
Gregg is the only guy that won’t hassle the federation to do better. Remember this dude hyping up playing a February WCQ in Minnesota in literal lethal conditions 😂
I really need to know what went in to this selection process because like you said, the evidence with Berhalter is there for the past 4 years, so idk what he said to make them think he's gonna turn into Pep Guardiola for this next cycle. It's sad because our team has a lot of potential and I think we can AT LEAST make the quarterfinal in 2026, but it's all down the drain because he's gonna bring on Jordan Morris.
Jordan Morris is the US Soccer Federation personified. Had massive potential and everyone was hyping him up after the 2014 World Cup was over and he was entering the player pool as a college student. He was scoring goals in big friendlies and big teams in Europe were watching him, but when he was given the chance to go to Germany and really make something of himself he said he did not want to move to another country and then proceeded to sign with the Sounders and sink into mediocrity for his entire career. He plateaued 6 years ago and wasted all his potential... but no worries the USMNT stuck with him for no reason and even made him the big super sub in the most important game of the last World Cup. He had the impact of a fart in the wind. But that is just how the USSF rolls, its like we don't want to be good. We actively sabotage ourselves every cycle. My hype during the 2014 World Cup was so immense I was waking up at midnight in Asia to watch in bars before going to work at 6 am (I lived in Asia). I road that high for months after proudly wearing my Dempsey jersey as much as I could. This last World Cup where we have the best squad we have ever had? Nothing really, I watched the games if I had time but wasn't going out of my way. Club football is so much more enjoyable (I've been a Newcastle United fan for 15 years) that I rarely think about national team stuff. Just no reason to get excited for Berhalter FC.
And we just got placed 11th in the fifa rankings. What the hell guys? Just why...and the Facebook group I'm in are doing backflips defending this. So many excuses and blaming players for shit that Gregg did. Some were ignoring how we played because the result went our way.
The mathematical system FIFA switched to in 2018 gives a potential boost to confederations which have a “Nations League” second tier competition (and only 2 do- CONCACAF & UEFA) if countries can get wins in said Nations League. Add to that the fact that unlike in Europe where the UEFA Nations League is more competitive, the USA is able to dominate the CONCACAF Nations League and the mathematical points system is thus tilted in favor of the US. (Is that why we always send a better squad to the 2nd tier Nations League than we do to the 1st tier Gold Cup? Hmm… 🤔) Mind you, the previous systems used by FIFA had various problems as well and I’m not saying this is any better or worse, I’m just pointing out the issue.
Really curious to why the players love him so much. Pulisic in so many words call us the problem for not liking him. It just sucks that we refuse to do better. I love this team and just bums me out that the people in charge don’t. Hoping Gregg changes his tactics now that we have Balogun with us now.
Cause they have his ear and he does what they tell him to do. It's how Pulisic got Haji his golden ticket to the world cup (and this is coming from someone that likes Haji and thought he was the biggest thing during the academy days).
They probably are privileged to information the public is not and could see the writing on the wall. Knowing how things were going to go and how and who is running things they toe the company line.
@@Red_the_dead_in_bed_2 I like Wright too! I watched a lot of him in his u17 days and glad he got a shot. But honestly he isn’t a top 5 striker for us. Yes thanks for the goal in the world cup, but that was more of a fluke. He had potential, but there isn’t a spot for him right now
I agree 💯%, how anyone can say they are ok with this stupid decision by the USSF?? didn't they noticed that he was grossly outcoached on the most important match this past WC? ? And in the last 9 matches he coached, 2 in the Nations League, 3 friendlies and 4 at the WC, his record was a rather mediocre 2W 5T and 2L, the victories coming against "powerhouses" Grenada and Iran, and outside trashing Grenada 5-0, the offensive output for the remaining 8 matches were a paltry 4 goals!!...So the USSF is ok with this, and they defined his re-hiring as PROGRESS?? While Japanese players literally play all year round, Uzbeks still can use those Soviet facilities, Indians doing a long tour to play European U16s (?), there is barely any news about our preparation, just playing some high school teams in Japan. They are not even good.
We’re so screwed. We just lost to Colombia 5-1
Having the correct man for the job is key, argentina before scaloni was a disaster, then he came in and everything started to change and feel different
If the producer of Ted Lasso take notes of the current USMNT issue, they could make a whole new season of the show
I hope that Greg has something new though. I am still hopeful that 2026 is going to be our year. And if not maybe Japan will give me hope
With all due respect, the only way it's gonna be is like making a semi-final. Unless half of Argentina, France & Brazil break their legs.

Remember that lineup he rolled out against Panama in WC Qualifying? Starting Arirola, Zardes, Lletget, Acosta, Moore, & Bello was a fireable offense right then and there.

@@user-jt4pk8ii4zhe plays boring football and he's afraid of change he's ass
Don't forget that Van Gaal roasted Berhalter ball after knocking us out of the WC 😂

The Gio Reyna incident is the most Sports in America stereotype event that basically summarizes how spoiled brat Americans with rich parents end up in Pro sports and make it really dramatic and goofy
Perfect jersey choice for saying "I can't be happy for more than a week, can I?"
So the US Federation has to pay the women's and men's coaches the same salary which definitely limited what they could pay candidates it is probably why Gregg is the coach again
Ahh shit that Spurs bit caught me lacking 😭 🤣
Gregg is the only guy that won’t hassle the federation to do better. Remember this dude hyping up playing a February WCQ in Minnesota in literal lethal conditions 😂

I say this as a Southampton fan, but Matt Crocker was our Director of Football Ops for the season we got relegated…
Give Croatia all of the infrastructure that the US have and they will win EVERYTHING
Hmm… 🤔)
Mind you, the previous systems used by FIFA had various problems as well and I’m not saying this is any better or worse, I’m just pointing out the issue.

He had potential, but there isn’t a spot for him right now
Love the Hertha Berlin Jersey. Iconic
Sick video man, in the Netherlands wefe going through sum stuff with players aswel. Could you do a video about that? Big respect to your content man.
WTF 😡😡
The sporting director is an opp!
Speaking of US soccer, I'd oftentimes rewatch that 2018 WC qualification campaign video for some guaranteed laughs.
I just don’t understand why why’re getting the same guy for 2 cycles. I can’t stand to this federation! We are going to get cooked in Copa America. 😔
