850kcal per day is tiny considering that the average UK intake is about 2,600kcal. I find it surprising that nobody mentioned this. I would have thought that offering support/advice to address this would be a major part of the intervention. Therefore, I wonder if the intervention works by frightening people rather than by realistically expecting people to live on the supplements? I wonder if any of the meeting’s attendees have tried to live on 850kcal per day? I doubt it.
Literally states "low calorie diet" The intervention works by restricting calories in overfat people to reverse t2d. It has already been through all testing and had great results. Not by frightening people 😂 but by kicking into ketosis to blunt the appetite.
Patients from our surgery find soups and shakes easier than having to calorie count at least at first. The daily calorie total is very low but most patient's don't report being as hungry as they thought they would be as the body goes into mild nutrtional ketosis after a few days which suppresses appetite.
@@carljenkins259 I've been using SlimFast for 6 months now. I think it works mostly by enabling someone to stop their unhealthy eating habits and replace it with something else. However, SlimFast etc is not enough on it's own because you definitely do feel hungry if that's all you eat! However, because you've made the decision to get fitter, you also go to the gym, so when you eat more than the SlimFast, it's ameliorated by the gym. Therefore, it's more about deciding on a more healthy approach and SlimFast becomes 1 part of that.
@@ktpuss Since I posted technology has really moved on - Drugs like Mounjaro, Ozempic, and wegovy are far more effective than diet or exercise for losing weight. There's no comparison. They cost money but you save money because you naturally eat less. If I were you I'd use an online pharmacy. Look up the indications for it's use. The chances are you meet those indications because it's super easy to have a slightly high blood pressure or a dyslipidaemia. You probably have issues like that without realising it. If you get a blood test you might be shocked.
Well done guys keep up the good work
