Omg! You Brave girl! I would NEVER attempted that freehand lettering...and it turned out PERFECT!!! That's just how they would have done it back in the day!
You have inspired me to try things. I live in a hundred year old farm house and the kitchen has always been a struggle. I fell in love with the Pantry Door milk paint so I painted all my cupboards pantry door and used the black wax and then clear wax to finish it. My husband tells me everyday how much it loves them. That you for sharing your creativity.

Changing the color of those framed prints gives them a new life. And that green on the shelf is so yummy. You are a gem!

Hand lettering the egg sign was a great idea. Years ago, they didn’t have a Cricut or even stencils. It looks great!
OH MYLANTA!! You have taught me so very much. It is because of you that I even know how to seal in so many things to help with some of my antiques I struggled with. I am so looking forward to moving to Indy just so at some point I can come and meet you or even go to an auction with you in person 😂❤

Oh my gosh, Ione I just bought that weather defense off of Amazon for the $10 a can and did a subscription with it too because you’re the one that sold me on the Weather defense. I use that on everything now and love it! You are so awesome and such an inspiration I love every single thing that you do, I have a lot of the same types of items that you have that you are up cycling and it helps me to get my stuff out of my stash and start doing the same thing you’re doing! A round sable brush is better for lettering. It is all in the way you load the paint. Tricky stuff! You did a great job.

I just have to say that you are such a beautiful lady. Your hair and makeup are flawless! Love the color of your hair. I have a granddaughter with beautiful red hair and another granddaughter with dark auburn hair. I wish I could do my makeup as well as yours.

I believe the drawer shelf is a recipe book and card holder. I bought one years ago that was similar and it still had grandmas recipes in the drawers. I have not found another one since and would love to, because that one sold in one day! I painted it black. I would like to do another in white.

I use chalk to put my letters on and then it just brushes off ....brushes are the trick and practice....looks fabulous 🐤🐤🐤

I love the pantry shelf! I have one that is similar I gave a makeover to that matches my kitchen! It works great on a kitchen counter as a coffee bar station! That's what I did with mine! 👍😊
Yvonne, I chuckled when you said "I love this color, I wish they had left it this color" on the little drawer shelf. I have loved watching your show for so many years and I remember when all you did was white and that was all you liked for the most part for yourself or your flips. I have adored your projects but I love color ( just not bright bright). Just thought you would get a chuckle as well. Still love all you do and I have loved your evolution.

The small cabinet w drawer was a cookbook stand w drawers for recipe cards , I redid mine about 20 yrs ago to go in my primitive home

Oh.. don’t look close. They get done once a week. Than I touch them up daily 😁
I tried something new this morning and it worked well. I had painted a silverplated platter (thrifted for 79 cents!) using Waverly chalk paint. This morning I wanted to seal it with clear wax but was out of clean rags. I had a bowl of used tea bags nearby that were completing dry. I used one to add the wax and another to wipe and polish the little platter. Wow! Game changer!
Yep. I was gonna tell ya a round brush with a narrow end makes lettering easier. I am challenging myself at this very moment myself❤ I am following lots of tutorials to get better at hand painting primitives ❤

I know those double hanging systems, like your rooster had can be annoying. You can get black stove wire or twine to string between the two. Just thought it could be an easier fix than unscrewing the old and screwing in new. Love your work, Yvonne!😁

I love watching you! And you and Chris on "the journey" always down to earth real life! Love it! Anyway, a few months ago, you were doing decoupage. I have never done it. But now I'm all excited about a piece I'm doing ( an old trunk) and I have have found some gorgeous paper to put on it. It really would look good with the edges burned. It's like tissue paper/ rice paper . But I'm not sure how to do it! I'm nervous ! I don't want it to go poof! In my hands! Ha can you show/ tell it again? I've worked so hard on this trunk!!! It was HARD work! But I'm almost to the end and need your HELP!!! Thank you
The burning works with a small piece.. it stop because the mod podge is wet . I can’t say I’ve ever done that technique on a big furniture piece. Only small pieces that I’ve layered the Decoupage with copier paper. My furniture pieces I usually faded in with a mixture of paint and waxes.

I think the oak frames came out great with the white. I have some old Home Interior Pictures that I no longer have hanging up, but I think I can transform the frames doing them up like you did yours. I got to tell ya, I get a kick out of when you say Wax on Wax off because the first thing, I think of is The Karate Kid! lol
Either way it looks beautiful watching your channel makes me happy because of other than my grandchildren that live here I have nine but only three live close enough to see all time. I’m in Southern California Desert all the rest of Eastern Oregon or Texas and Georgia and I have my southern daughter-in-law who have no children are down in Huntington Beach, and my husband passed away last after 45 years of marriage I know two years prior. I’m not with my grandkids and my daughter. I’m with you if you remember that. Cabinet that you picked up and you put a not a transfer but on it and I saw one in the garbage up the street and I was gonna pick it up unfortunately by the time I got back, some dingdong had knocked it over and broke it that they broke it, which is a shame because the first thing I ever decapod beside in school was my husband Gave me a bouquet of flowers and long story but I’ll cut out the military. He had a second job in the military working in. The officers club was a waiter and he also helped work the and my dad was a colonel and so we always went to bingo and he worked the bingo and he was teasing with the big bingo cards, and I hit him on the head. Two years later we were married, saw some flowers on the table where we were sitting and he thought they were mine and I said no my brother who’s the only one in the family with black hair and his wife was sitting across from him and I said no my brother got them for my sister-in-law because they’re going to turkey and he’s surprised her so I said no one‘s got me flowers so the next Wednesday because we always went on a Wednesday there was a single rose and a glass vase with a hallmark card a guy and a girl in their late teens early 20s leaning against the tree he was sat back on the tree and she was leaning on his chest and a beautiful pond with a duck on it, and I went home and took that And it a chunk of wood and gave it back to him and it’s hanging in my bathroom right now in the master bath always has so anyway I do know how to but it’s a shame. Maybe I’ll find another cabinet sometime or something else do one of your crafts, thank you for the fun time you give me enjoyment you and your husband remember to love each other every day give each other hugs and kisses. You don’t have to do that on your RUclips channel. Just remember that course you probably do because of your illness that you just got how scary it was short was going to be 6969 December 19 and he passed away September 30. I thought we had another 30 years together unfortunately life happens hugs and kisses. God bless and thank you for the enjoyment.
