The house is looking good!. Awesome lifestyle. I think you should just bite the bullet and go down the D Visa route. It will be well worth it in the end, even if it's just for that feeling of belonging.
Interestingly we have heard from a very well connected source that the Bulgarian government are now talking about ways to make the process easier for UK citizens. 👍
