Intangible Yields In Permaculture: Shaped by Our Perception

Let's talk intangible yields in a permaculture system! In permaculture, the principle "obtain a yield" is often understood through the lens of harvests of food, fuel, fiber. But there are intangible yields as well that are just as important to consider.
Let's take an example from my recent trip to Hood River: when hiking in nature, there is an obvious yield of enjoying interacting with the ecosystem through exercise and perhaps gleaning berries and such. But there are also yields in the way we perceive and process the world around us. HOW we perceive and process and enjoy our interactions with nature shapes what yield we receive. Do we interact as scientists, designers, artists, storytellers?
