No, I'd say cartel murders started quite a ways back and grew with the open Mexico-TX borders, illegal immigration and liberal policies that don't give a darn about public safety or public health.

Because appearances count. Yes, completely obvious along with the prevelance of drugs and drug dealers, buyers and therefore supporters OF more violence.
