Bonnie is a damn genius songwriter. Been listening to him for 25 years or so. I discovered him my first trip to NYC when I was 18. I was left alone in my friend's apartment while he went to work, saw the Arise, Therefore CD, put it on and was astounded. It came home with me. Later, when I was dating a radio DJ I got to have dinner and drinks with Will and it was one of the highlights of my life. Anyway, that first NYC friend was also a huge Dax Riggs fan, so hearing this kinda dovetails everything together. It's an excellent version of one of BPB's greatest songs. "I am learning bit by bit / 'bout the make and model shit" is one of those lines. Haunting. Relatable as hell.
Been listening to this cover since '06 in Germany. Dax, A Perfect Circle, and Agalloch got me through my deployment in Iraq in '04. Love the stuff that makes you hurt. His Voice is amazing, loved it since Acid Bath was still around. Damn I'm old.
Oh shit, been years since I jammed this. I had all these shows from this era on a HDD that crapped out some fifteen years ago. Not to mention seeing him solo/Deadboy 1.0/2.0 live in Lafayette on many an occasion. Pretty sure I saw him do this Bonnie track in person at least once or twice. The last time I ever saw him live was at Voodoo '07. Wasn't really into that solo record much though. Here's hoping for something new eventually.
I just compared this to the earlier version, i think it was from Sidebar..this one has a few inflections in the lyrics i think i like better.hey @projectriggs do you have a version of Evening God that isn't the only one on RUclips..thats mabey my favorite song ever
