The fact that she knows The Pharcyde and recreated the beat effortlessly is already incredible. The fact that she’s so young makes it mind blowing. Good for her!
The only thing you got wrong is that dilla laid a 20 bar track for kick drum and it never really repeats patterns throughout the 20 bar loop. The kick drum was so different it caused a fight in The Pharcyde between members over which version of the song would be used , the Dilla version with the all over the place kick drum or the reproduction with a steadier kick drum . But actually A1 recreation.
I remember 106.1 KMEL San Francisco, on the Sway and king tech wake up show (Yes that sway) did a world premiere of the new Pharcyde song. I was a huge fan, so I hit record on my tape deck…. And this beat drops! I wish I still had the tape! I lost it years later when I moved. Mind you, I had actually seen them live in 1993, at the KMEL summer jam
I never knew that "run" sample, came from Run (Run-DMC)... I guess you learn something new everyday. I was a little kid when this came out. Nobody ever mentioned anything about that part to me, and I never made the connection in my mind... I'm now in my 30's, but thanks for teaching me something new about this classic track. Shit... I ALSO never knew where the main sample came from, so I'm just learning so much right now. Thanks again 😉👍🏽
Yes!!! She freaking rocks!!! The fact she didn‘t record twice seemingly, didn‘t hit that wuantize button and just went with the imperfections makes it even better. Dilla was about groove and soul and she has both
Where are all the women in the world like this? Glad my daughter and son’s make beats. Crazy how my children and I hear music in Dilla Time, it’s the best natural attribute I passed down through my DNA. Keep up the great work!
Wowwwww this is one of the most amazing things I ever saw. I'm a huge dilla fan never saw a girl make a beat before either omgggg your like my dream woman no bs
I know it's a tall order and u prolly already know this but his kick snare was never the same for every 4 bar loop. Don't let that overshadowed the fact that you're rockin the song and sample I've had on repeat for like, a week now. (And rockin well I might add😌😌🫡🫡👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿)
Wow. I like her skills. So chill, I can't stop nodding my head, it's so accurate for the Pharcyde song 🎶 "Run run, run run, Can't keep running away aaaaaaaayyyyyyy aaaaayy. 🎶. But hey, I can tell you were bored in grandmama house making these beats as you got those 80's flower wallpaper in the back 🌺 Am I right ? LoL
