@@olkinghadeslo3747and too a read of Mike’s book Unfuck America would tell the haters a lot. Personal responsibility, good decision making, letting others live their lives, the futility of Prohibition and many of the other tenets of conservative values are right there. They want but can’t have it both ways.
Kevin Holland.. Seal team 6, Delta operator and NC game warden would be a great interview. A true patiot, humble warrior and good man. He was one of the 2 that pulled Saadam out of his spider hole, great story and a helluva guy.
I love this episode. I don't know how people can listen to an episode like John McPhee's, then claim Mike is wrong for having an old school drug smuggler on. Not all military guys are saints or role models; and not all former criminals are the devil.
I’m a law enforcement guy and have had some pretty deep conversations with people of this caliber, gang dudes and killers to even the local dope head homeless guys getting picked up for trespassing. What you learn is that just because they are on a different path of the law doesn’t mean they are evil. Most are just doing it for the cash or to feed an addiction that they are in. Very few are truly evil. But they do exist. Great interview Mike.
1:52:28 represents where Mike asks the right questions. It's important to talk about what the modern illicit drug landscape is like. Ken has the fun Florida swashbucklin' 80's drug-runnin stories, but what's happening now isn't all that stylish. The "why would you sell something to kill your customers?" question is important and there are a lot of different answers.
1:13:10 calls a m16 bullet a slug and then a .222… it’s literally the size of a .22lr. The hole(s) would be tiny… how do you accidentally shoot an m16 off at night and not wake everyone up… this is that bullshit. Edit: now he’s talking about a “5th degree black belt” doing a hit… what in the Steven Seagul… 2:59:00 the only reason they went to jail and not you is because you put others in jail or prison instead of you. You are not smart, you’re a coward and a loser. Instead of pushing drugs for money now you just push your stories of your “best times” and screwed over others who were just like you. It has nothing to do with “I kept my mouth shut…”
Damn this dudes a little bit of a story teller. I was excited for this episode but this guy is exaggerating a little more than he should be. He is trying to come off as being smart but sounds stupid. His numbers don’t make any sense. 400k then does the math and says no 600k… no one dealing drugs doesn’t know how much they are making or at least how much they should make. I’m only 40 minutes into this. Let’s see how the rest of it goes…
That is kind of the point and he was honest about just being a regular guy that fell into that life. Same as every other high school dealer but he ended up making friends with a few big suppliers and went bigger by transporting the bulk product from the drop off point in the states. Although he does mention a couple smuggling runs to bring it in.
“My family left Germany bc the Nahtsees were gonna kill us and moved to Joo Jerksey. We moved to Hollywood…” That explains almost all that comes. Oy vey.
Hey Mike keep doing what your doing brother the haters can turn it off if they don’t like the story I just don’t understand the amount of people just bitchin about what someone is doing there’s lots of podcasts ya can’t like every episode
100% ! life isnt all sunshine and rainbows, shit happens and people moaning he’s done an interview with a drug dealer needs to go find a different channel.Mikes podcast teaches people so much about what really happens in the world and I think that’s what certain people don’t agree with
I would classify him as a professional bullshitter. He says "we always used guys we knew to move the weed, if we had a new guy we would tell him to do the speed limit and obay the laws and we will pay you $1000 and pay them a per diem". What sort of idiot would drive hundreds of pounds of weed for $1000, oh and a per diem. He wants to be a cowboy, drugs dealers that see you smoking a joint won't deal with you because it is below them, for christ sake most of them smoke daily. Just a lot of Swiss cheese in this story.
Remember, that’s $1,000 in the 70’s and 80’s which is a lot more than $1,000 in today’s money. I agree, this guy is out there and his stories are very elaborate.
SO $1000 would be about $3500 in today's dollars do about 4 to 5 trips a month and your 24 years old and making close to $15,000 in today's dollars tax free.. I am telling my story, our story so people will know the real truth of what happened in those days... It's all 100% true why at 67 year old should I lie now.? You should read my book contact me happy to give you a free copy!
Dam Mike….I really hope you don’t go down this road with guests. You are my favorite podcaster / interviewer. I’m retired LEO K-9 handler. I have the utmost respect for you,but shit head smugglers like this are responsible for so many youngsters deaths. Please don’t give these low life’s a platform to speak on, they will ruin your podcasts. I’m not gonna watch this episode, I won’t give it any time. Catch ya on the next one. Would, love to see one with the crazy Polish guy who became a Navy SEAL……now that’s a show !!!
I understand, I also like to show both sides. If anything I think LEO can learn from a show like this to see the other side. I found it interesting. Also, I did a show with Drago, episode #162
intriguing interview...guy who i worked with bought a foreclosed farm in OHIO and found 100K in a wall when doing the demo on the house. HNY Mike & crew.
What i have a hard time believing is that the hells angles aint heard about this dude ratting then going around telling the story of how he did so writing books and sh*t....
It is incredible how Shawn Ryan has a genius on but then a total loony bin podcast 3 times in a row the next week... but hey, so does Joe Rogan... podcasts are definitely being overdone but this one was not bad, especially as it gives k9 guys a look at ways the 'enemy' thinks outside the box
Guys give Mike a break. Every guest you have on is not gonna be the same. Love the pod Mike, fuck the haters 🖕🏼
Also, Mike is trying to have guests from different back grounds than the military, there is only so many people willing to talk about SOF experiences.

This is the perfect recommendation dude! I’ve been waiting to hear him on a podcast!!!

I enjoyed hearing something different! Good stuff dude!
Best podcast out there

It could be all hyperbolic
@ nah this is a story teller who wants his book to sound “extra”
I agree with you 100%
3:17:45 I don’t even think Mike believes this dude. He just says “wow” whenever he says something and it sounds like horse shit.
Just to clear this up slang for a bullet is a 'SLUG'. and yes the original AR-15 fired the 222 the M-16 fired the 223.

@ thanks, I’ll dig it up. He’s a riot. 👍🏻
@@MikeRitland You do a good job of staying in the veteran / government agency employee lane, I think it's healthy to branch out sometimes.
Freaking coward. Undercover cops I have no issue with but these damn snitches are disgusting
12:41 Had that same experience with a Perk at 40 and I never touched 1 again. I definitely felt it’s power

People like this make me sick. I think it’s way more common especially these days
12:00 what drug does the guy say he preferred but was censored, then Mike talked about Percocet?
I said Heroin.
Hes just not the best story teller but hey still an interesting episode.

Mike PAVED the road that Shawn Ryan is on. He'll get Rachel Levine on here sometime for you.
