Ce qui est formidable, c'est que vous reprenez, en “cover“, le thème de Pat, sans copier les impros. Vous apportez vos propres improvisations et vous êtes bigrement inspirés ! Bravo, on en redemande. Marc
Merci beaucoup, Marc!!
@@firstcirclepmgt I visit Montreal from time to time...would love to catch y'all live, or maybe just meet over some smoked meat and say hi (relax, not a stalker...just an appreciator!)
@@firstcirclepmgt He had such a unique ability to know when to hold back and be complementary, and then when to step forward and be the centerpiece...both in his compositions and his performing. There will never be another.
Never had the opportunity see the PMG in the Pat, Lyle, Rodby, Wertigo setting imho was the best. Did see him once in a later setting but you guys nail my favourite setting so……when have you planned to visit the Netherlands…..😉
Yeah that core 4tet was the GOAT! We saw Pat last year in Montreal. Great show but not the same without Lyle... Thanks for your comment and cheers from Montreal!
Hehehe very great question and I'm glad to answer. Lyle used a MIDI piano, wich we don't have. That's why our second vocalist has a keyboard. She's playing vibe, marimba and glockenspiel parts, as well as other sounds that we can't put into a playback. Like this JX-10 patch you hear.
@@firstcirclepmgt Ah, je vois. Maybe if I had paid more attention, I would have spotted that keyboard. Keep up the good work. I'm a guitarist and an old fan of the PMG. I look forward to seeing you live one of these days. Any planned shows in MTL in the coming months?
Hey Luca! We met at Université de Montréal during our jazz degree. We've been playing together since a few years, now. At first, a few of us did'nt even know about the existence of that band... But then a teacher handed us the score of The Way Up and that's where it began.
@@firstcirclepmgt Another fan of yours here. I love your dedication to these complex pieces. And your accessibility to fans questions. I really love the women's vocals. Takes this music to ummm, dare I say- better than original. Better days ahead. I am ready.
@@amandalynngibson8332 Thank you so much!! I'm very happy you liked the female vocals. It's one of the main differences with the original band and I think it is a very great fit. Roxane and Lélia sing so well, and blend together like a charm. It's always a pleasure to reply to people who took their time to listen and comment. YT is a fantastic tool to share this kind of content!
What a smokin tempo! That drummer is a monster, Bravisimo!

Immaculate
Beautiful. Well done.
Thanks Chris!
Christophe, you do Lyle proud while also putting your own spin and style on it...bravo! And the whole band shows such respect for the originals.
Thank you so much!! Yeah that's kinda the spirit of the band :)
I don't know if I make him proud, but I hope he knows the influence he had on so many musicians. What a genius, that's a huge loss...

Beautiful. Watching the video I wondered where is Lyle signature ocarina-like sound coming from? From the piano-MIDI?

One of my fav songs of Pat Methany group👍
How did this Tribute Ensemble start? Did you all know eachother from previous bands or were all just Metheny Group fans from the start?

We do play Minuano! The Awakening, not yet. But I'll keep that title in mind :)
