Wuwa's dialog scenes are like movies. Yes some are boring but they are more lively. Like some unique gestures that's only used by a certain character or dynamic camera movements. But yes they can still be boring if you don't follow what they are talking about. But this Rinascita story is not that complicated, so i can follow it no matter how i distracted by the amazing camera movements. 😅
not even gonna comment on the fact that wuwa NPCs are much more interesting looking, and have a lot more going on with them than the whole roster of mihoyo combine. if mihoyo's games were a shread more invested on making character interactions more interesting than a group of character models staring at each other and text dumping, a lot less people would have issues sitting through their unbelievably BORING stories.
Tbf, WuWa has its own sins. I have seen some of the NPC animations especially for the mouth movements and it ain't look good. 😂 Almost like Kuro ran out of budget.

Yep!! I’m the type to pay close attention to characters and when I first noticed that almost every character in WuWa has their own animations I was surprised! Being a day 1 genshin player I was used to recycled animations for everything story wise

If there is no glazing after performing an actual religious experience, I'd be very damn surprised.

Revenue that is shown in Sensor Tower is the total spending the player base made. Net revenue is subtracting the production cost, operating cost, labor and everything else. So in conclusion, since HSR technically has lower production, its net revenue would be much higher than WuWa who in contrast has higher production.
They interact with the environment. Crazy right? Well, it's a small game compared to Genshin or HSR on revenue wise, but they have something better than those two thing combined 😂
Kuro did do'em dirty tho. Rinascita has significantly improved to the point of being able to be compared to triple A games. On the other side, when you have downgrades like this happening to Hoyo's biggest games, it's just bad publicity over bad publicity

You have no idea how little a few, small "animations" (stock presets they've made years ago and keep reusing, simply swapping the character model) would cost. Something like SensorTower isn't inaccurate because they're overestimating the income they make, but instead it's vastly underestimating with especially CN players mostly using the webshop which isn't accounted for in the mobile store calculations. They're making enough, but if they start making good games, too many people will realize they've been getting ripped off for years.

Lets be honest , HSR shldn't have been a big zone 3d game. Nobody cares about the location they move their characters to , most of the time we just auto play the battle and press buff from the paragraphs we read in sim uni.
Spoiler alert if you haven’t played HSR story 3.0 or WuWa 1.3 story . . . . . . . . . The scene where Aglea asked you to move a little closer to this side where the water is warmer was into a black screen then a camera face zoom on Aglea, while in WuWa 1.3 story, Shorekeeper scooted closer to Rover during the piano part where is fully animated, so yes this is a massive W for WuWa on the “Show and not tell”
I saw them make self awareness jokes in 1.0 and noped out. I was already jaded by Genshin back then. I only play Genshin as F2P because of my attachment. And I am never picking up another Hoyo game. They value profit over players. Let them rot in that mindset. It would happen eventually.
The problem of being the number 1 company on the market. They can cut cost and criticism will more likely be forgotten. They are number 1 after all and most people will go to them if they are looking for a good product. It's the same as Hoyoverse. They just have too much money to fail. They need big blunders that will hit their money hard to realize "Oh, we need to do better". Kuro on the other hand, is always trying to make the best game with what they have. They are smaller company than Hoyo but they are far more passionate than the profit-focused Hoyoverse. I think Wuwa is a wake up call to most people that Genshin was holding back A LOT to squeeze more profit from the players.

i’m playing project sekai which is literally a rhythm game. the story, even with 2d models has much better expressions and body gestures, especially since you can’t even see the character’s legs half the time. shows how little effort they put into the actual visual storytelling

@ kinda missed my point when i was talking about facial expressions and body language. if a game that makes significantly less money and can still animate facial expressions and body language better than a million dollar company, it shows that there isn’t a lot of effort put into it. fundamentally, 2d and 3d animation is different, however, how come the bigger team of animators in hsr can’t animate more expressions and body language? especially since they don’t have an open world and can actually do a lot with character animation. it is kinda a bad example to compare a 2d game that isn’t even an rpg game but, still, the smaller company has more effort despite having less money to begin with
I reached Amphoreus yesterday, and one of the big issues i had with the game , it's the vastly difference in the rythm or stakes it has in cinematics vs gameplay battles, i blame mostly the music being so different, i don't feel quite inmmersed or having a good time at all... I miss belobog story quality so much
Belobog boss fight and sunday boss fight were the only two points in the game I thought “wow this game is fking awesome” but then the countless hours or grinding and listening to or reading the massive boring yapfest of a game is a real let down.
@@mon-jp8jt Nah i did the belobog story a time ago coming fresh into HSR and i found the belobog was great paced. Nothing felt unneccessary long and stretched by dialogue. Even Luofuo wasn't that bad. Penacony on the other hand.. managed to do something even Genshin couldn't do. Annoy me soo much with dialogue that i got sick of it.
@@okwoco I guess we all have our tastes. My only gripe with Penacony was the length in some of the unpausable sequences. It would go from dialogue to a cutscene to more dialogue to a still image to a cutscene to more dialogue to a fight and only after that you’d be able to take a break. The issue was that pausing in between would force you to start over again. Penacony in my personal opinion was way more nuanced and interesting in comparison to its predecessors, but I guess its preference at the end of the day. I will say, Belobog was miles better than Luofu. The main Luofu trailblaze mission was…not great. The pacing is awful, there’s too much going on for someone who’s new to the game, way too many terms and titles thrown around with no explanations and the conclusion is just unsatisfactory by all means. I’m happy they redeemed Luofu a bit for me in the newer quests, but the first ones were not it for me. Belobog on the other hand was alright. It’s a good start to the game, but it’s also really depressing to play through. I found myself wishing for it to be over already at many times during the quest cause the environment was just exhausting, and the cast was uninteresting to me personally. They gave me nothing to really care about, and there was barely a sense of real stakes being involved, up until the end of the quest. That’s where they pulled me back, the fight with Cocolia and the whole sequence before it is great! I also enjoyed confronting Svarog and Sampo’s constant background presence in the story. The conclusion was also good and left me feeling pretty fulfilled by the end of it.
customers care more about playable characters' designs than the presentation of filler dialogue and even tho wuwa 2.0 does have a great increase in char design quality, hoyo still has BY FAR the best designs in the industry.

And that defending a company from other customers who are asking for improvements is pernicious and inhibits or impedes whatever improvements the service may provide. As for the character design, I believe that to be true probably a year ago. Mihoyo is so big that I think we are just predispositioned to like designs when we know it’s from them.

Penacony was so absurdly mid with endless black screens, essay lore dumps, etc. etc. and if you criticized it you were told "erm did you not read all 5000000 paragraphs about lore this story is actually peak!". Devs saw HSR players would eat up slop and are happily providing more. They can thank themselves for this.

As someone who mostly skips and just plays for endgame. They had me at the start but very quikcly had me lose interest with its constant reading reading reading on top of nothing nothing nothing. Into a tiny amount of voice acting compared to wuwa. If my luck wasn't so good in that game... I'd have dropped it in 2.0. The story feels like sooo fucking long with its visual novels it's so annoying. Like I couldn't even be bothered to start/finish the rappa and Sunday patch. Im just like there so much yapping and nothing. Meanwhile wuwa has a skip button and I didn't skip anything up to the current patch. I finished every quest and only skipped some side quest stories that I didn't care about. Bless skip button.
I told my significant other about wuwa, and now she really wants to play it, so i told her i would help her if she needed any assistance because she found it so school. She was slightly upset that i didn’t tell her that zani had an italian accent. She loved it.
What I loving about 2.0 is that after we told Kuro the EN voice acting needed improvement they took it seriously, I mean, hear at Zani's voice, it's incredible
I love both games I play both but to be honest, WuWa 2.0 launch is more enjoyable to me than HSR 3.0 launch. The story of both are great in their own way so far but, in game cutscene WuWa excels by much I feel much more alive playing the mission and following the story, the different camera angles, the gestures made by the characters, and complete voice from all characters in all languange. I still find it weird major character like the trailblazer our MC, Dan Heng, Himeko, Robin, not having EN voice anymore
Wuthering Waves is everything a gacha game should be-fluid combat, rewarding exploration, and a dev team that actually listens to players. Unlike Genshin's stamina-limited world or Star Rail’s static battles, WuWa keeps things fresh with movement-based exploration and skill-driven fights. Plus, the gacha system feels way more fair, making it easier to get the characters and weapons you want. Kuro Games is raising the bar, and honestly, it's about time.
Even Honkai 3rd does better camera work lately with in game dialogue (outside of the usual VN format - in the open world etc.). That HSR which makes millions more recycles 5 animations just adds insult to injury.
Honestly, it's stuff like this that makes gacha tribalism a lot more noticable. it sucks that people can't just let others enjoy what they want and instead always have to compare and talk shit or make fun of the other.

at the end of the day, when it comes to the main plot itself, hsr clears. wuwa does have better presentation for the lesser important scenes (hsr climazes are better than wuwa, even in animation) but imho the plot itself is literally just chuuni bullshit, i have already failed 3 times to give a shit about anything going on meanwhile hsr you can skip 80% of the filler dialogue and the climax is still going to be interesting
For story, I like GI and HSR more than Wuwa. For animation yes, Wuwa wins. But I'm not that interested with Wuwa story. I haven't finished the first city because I feel bored. For me, the most important is the story. Yapping, lack of cutscene, rigid emotion, all of them is bearable as long as the story is interesting.

Not that hoyo's doing a good job with caring for their players, but the game itself is genuinely more interesting and enjoyable for me. Wuwa is just pretty graphics and some QoL stuff.
@@silverhairedsamurai27 Honestly, GI graphic isn't that bad. The landscape are good. Yeah some of in-game characters are not good and in general, the 3D is worse compared to 2D, but not that bad. Wuwa may do better in graphic, but so far I only like male Rover and Xiangli Yao and play Wuwa because of him (yes I'm husbando collector). I watched clips about Rinascita, the QOL, the animation, yeah they're beautiful but I'm still not excited. Those are good to have not not priority. I enjoy playing GI and HSR more.
@ The problem with gi is that there's a lot to improve but they don't. I personally don't mind that much but I think that's a valid complaint. I also get that using an older game engine has it's limits and there's storage and performance issues if they go for a new engine so no complain from me. And yes I love xly character too.
I hope HSR gets better, it's the first time the game is criticised this much. Considering that the story will last the entire 3.x cycle the ambition to tell a grand story is there, I hope thry can improve presentation. If they do listen, change would come no sooner than 3.2, I believe.
Despite the animation for WuWa being funky sometimes and downright hilarious how they do the same dramatic gestures repeatively, at least the black screen is now used to transition a scene instead of unnecessarily added.

imo kuro puts so much more love in their game that hoyo. i mean, the animations, the dynamic of the camera, the way stuff dont get explained via a black screen and not to forget the design of the npcs. they dont look like copy/paste, and the important npcs arent just teppei with other clothes, voice or facial details (looking at genshin) and the npc in jinzhou where you get olvl materials he could be a playable character by how detailed that man looks (and probably made someone question their sexuality im pretty sure of it)
A lot of players who play hsr on phone wouldn't really agree to make it similar to Wuwa ( those who play on mid range can only play at medium setting at best ) and hoyo cant make two different stories for both parties, they will either keep this high quality in short quantity cutscene and appeal the big audiences from Asia or Make it Extremely heavy game with all the cutscene and game movement and Loose a major playerbase from Asia, i still want the ingame movements and cutscene to improve tho

So as long as HSR story keeps me interested I'll choose HSR. Also I'm a husbando collector haha (I have all male chars in both games) but wuwa is disappointing so far...
You're missing GI here too. In Wuwa you see the character take the glass in his hands. In GI, you would see him reach to take it, change the camera angle so we don't see anything except his face looking for the glass, than change of camera angle to see him having the glass in his hand
It's an engine issue I guess? I've seen games from 10 years ago do this weird wobbly and glitchy thing whenever the characters hold any items. Unreal engines games were rarely like this

The still camera shots for cutscenes is what makes my eyes fall asleep from genshin and hsr. The only entertaining parts is the battle animations (which do get boring over time) and epic cutscenes with full animation that happen only once in a millennia. Wuwa did...something crazy, AAA quality engaging storytelling and cutscenes for a mobile gacha game... it's insane.

You have no idea how little a few, small "animations" (stock presets they've made years ago and keep reusing, simply swapping the character model) would cost.
Something like SensorTower isn't inaccurate because they're overestimating the income they make, but instead it's vastly underestimating with especially CN players mostly using the webshop which isn't accounted for in the mobile store calculations. They're making enough, but if they start making good games, too many people will realize they've been getting ripped off for years.

That's what I thought the point of having 3D model, to make animating the characters easier. If you're not gonna utilize your 3D model to its fullest, might as well just go with 2D or live2D, at least they will look prettier.

The problem of being the number 1 company on the market. They can cut cost and criticism will more likely be forgotten. They are number 1 after all and most people will go to them if they are looking for a good product.

Kuro on the other hand, is always trying to make the best game with what they have. They are smaller company than Hoyo but they are far more passionate than the profit-focused Hoyoverse. I think Wuwa is a wake up call to most people that Genshin was holding back A LOT to squeeze more profit from the players.

i’m playing project sekai which is literally a rhythm game. the story, even with 2d models has much better expressions and body gestures, especially since you can’t even see the character’s legs half the time. shows how little effort they put into the actual visual storytelling

@ kinda missed my point when i was talking about facial expressions and body language. if a game that makes significantly less money and can still animate facial expressions and body language better than a million dollar company, it shows that there isn’t a lot of effort put into it.
fundamentally, 2d and 3d animation is different, however, how come the bigger team of animators in hsr can’t animate more expressions and body language? especially since they don’t have an open world and can actually do a lot with character animation.

I reached Amphoreus yesterday, and one of the big issues i had with the game , it's the vastly difference in the rythm or stakes it has in cinematics vs gameplay battles, i blame mostly the music being so different, i don't feel quite inmmersed or having a good time at all... I miss belobog story quality so much

Belobog boss fight and sunday boss fight were the only two points in the game I thought “wow this game is fking awesome” but then the countless hours or grinding and listening to or reading the massive boring yapfest of a game is a real let down.

@@mon-jp8jt Nah i did the belobog story a time ago coming fresh into HSR and i found the belobog was great paced. Nothing felt unneccessary long and stretched by dialogue. Even Luofuo wasn't that bad.
Penacony on the other hand.. managed to do something even Genshin couldn't do. Annoy me soo much with dialogue that i got sick of it.
@@okwoco I guess we all have our tastes. My only gripe with Penacony was the length in some of the unpausable sequences. It would go from dialogue to a cutscene to more dialogue to a still image to a cutscene to more dialogue to a fight and only after that you’d be able to take a break. The issue was that pausing in between would force you to start over again.
Penacony in my personal opinion was way more nuanced and interesting in comparison to its predecessors, but I guess its preference at the end of the day.
I will say, Belobog was miles better than Luofu. The main Luofu trailblaze mission was…not great. The pacing is awful, there’s too much going on for someone who’s new to the game, way too many terms and titles thrown around with no explanations and the conclusion is just unsatisfactory by all means. I’m happy they redeemed Luofu a bit for me in the newer quests, but the first ones were not it for me.
Belobog on the other hand was alright. It’s a good start to the game, but it’s also really depressing to play through. I found myself wishing for it to be over already at many times during the quest cause the environment was just exhausting, and the cast was uninteresting to me personally. They gave me nothing to really care about, and there was barely a sense of real stakes being involved, up until the end of the quest. That’s where they pulled me back, the fight with Cocolia and the whole sequence before it is great! I also enjoyed confronting Svarog and Sampo’s constant background presence in the story. The conclusion was also good and left me feeling pretty fulfilled by the end of it.
The extra camera and character movements make WuWa’s interactions so much more engaging! I’m actually happy to let them play out!

And that defending a company from other customers who are asking for improvements is pernicious and inhibits or impedes whatever improvements the service may provide.
As for the character design, I believe that to be true probably a year ago. Mihoyo is so big that I think we are just predispositioned to like designs when we know it’s from them.

As someone who mostly skips and just plays for endgame. They had me at the start but very quikcly had me lose interest with its constant reading reading reading on top of nothing nothing nothing. Into a tiny amount of voice acting compared to wuwa. If my luck wasn't so good in that game... I'd have dropped it in 2.0. The story feels like sooo fucking long with its visual novels it's so annoying. Like I couldn't even be bothered to start/finish the rappa and Sunday patch. Im just like there so much yapping and nothing. Meanwhile wuwa has a skip button and I didn't skip anything up to the current patch. I finished every quest and only skipped some side quest stories that I didn't care about. Bless skip button.
I told my significant other about wuwa, and now she really wants to play it, so i told her i would help her if she needed any assistance because she found it so school. She was slightly upset that i didn’t tell her that zani had an italian accent. She loved it.
What I loving about 2.0 is that after we told Kuro the EN voice acting needed improvement they took it seriously, I mean, hear at Zani's voice, it's incredible

I love both games I play both but to be honest, WuWa 2.0 launch is more enjoyable to me than HSR 3.0 launch. The story of both are great in their own way so far but, in game cutscene WuWa excels by much I feel much more alive playing the mission and following the story, the different camera angles, the gestures made by the characters, and complete voice from all characters in all languange. I still find it weird major character like the trailblazer our MC, Dan Heng, Himeko, Robin, not having EN voice anymore

wuwa does have better presentation for the lesser important scenes (hsr climazes are better than wuwa, even in animation) but imho the plot itself is literally just chuuni bullshit, i have already failed 3 times to give a shit about anything going on meanwhile hsr you can skip 80% of the filler dialogue and the climax is still going to be interesting
For story, I like GI and HSR more than Wuwa. For animation yes, Wuwa wins. But I'm not that interested with Wuwa story. I haven't finished the first city because I feel bored.
For me, the most important is the story. Yapping, lack of cutscene, rigid emotion, all of them is bearable as long as the story is interesting.

Wuwa may do better in graphic, but so far I only like male Rover and Xiangli Yao and play Wuwa because of him (yes I'm husbando collector). I watched clips about Rinascita, the QOL, the animation, yeah they're beautiful but I'm still not excited. Those are good to have not not priority. I enjoy playing GI and HSR more.

imo kuro puts so much more love in their game that hoyo. i mean, the animations, the dynamic of the camera, the way stuff dont get explained via a black screen and not to forget the design of the npcs. they dont look like copy/paste, and the important npcs arent just teppei with other clothes, voice or facial details (looking at genshin) and the npc in jinzhou where you get olvl materials he could be a playable character by how detailed that man looks (and probably made someone question their sexuality im pretty sure of it)
A lot of players who play hsr on phone wouldn't really agree to make it similar to Wuwa ( those who play on mid range can only play at medium setting at best ) and hoyo cant make two different stories for both parties, they will either keep this high quality in short quantity cutscene and appeal the big audiences from Asia or Make it Extremely heavy game with all the cutscene and game movement and Loose a major playerbase from Asia, i still want the ingame movements and cutscene to improve tho

I still enjoy HSR story way more than WuWa story. I appreciate the details in WuWa, and I can see the improvement in almost everything, but the story/lore is just not clicking with me personally. So as long as HSR story keeps me interested I'll choose HSR. Also I'm a husbando collector haha (I have all male chars in both games) but wuwa is disappointing so far...

You're missing GI here too. In Wuwa you see the character take the glass in his hands. In GI, you would see him reach to take it, change the camera angle so we don't see anything except his face looking for the glass, than change of camera angle to see him having the glass in his hand
It's an engine issue I guess? I've seen games from 10 years ago do this weird wobbly and glitchy thing whenever the characters hold any items. Unreal engines games were rarely like this

if you're using nvdia gpu u can apply filter to sharpen textures, helps a lot.

That just proves Kuro really put effort in their games and as a HSR enjoyer this is painful, also not to mention that Hoyo have more money than Kuro.

The still camera shots for cutscenes is what makes my eyes fall asleep from genshin and hsr. The only entertaining parts is the battle animations (which do get boring over time) and epic cutscenes with full animation that happen only once in a millennia. Wuwa did...something crazy, AAA quality engaging storytelling and cutscenes for a mobile gacha game... it's insane.
